SCCW BREAKING NEWS Former Champion returning! A former South Coast Champion will be returning to the area soon. The Masked Superstar, who held the title for a 3+ month period back in 2019, is making a somewhat unexpected return in mid-August! The Superstar had a very successful run in his previous stay in South Coast, defeating Bobo Brazil for the title in late April 2019. He eventually lost the belt to Bob Armstrong in August 2019, leaving the territory shortly after the loss. Not much is known about his motives, and the return comes without much warning. Will he go after Harley Race in an effort to regain the title? Will he be looking for revenge against Armstrong, as he never had a string of return bouts? And what prompted him to come back in the first place? So many questions! Certainly, we’ll have our answers soon enough when the Masked Superstar returns on August 14th in Baton Rouge. CURRENT SCCW RANKINGS - JULYSCCW Champion: HARLEY RACE (C) 1. The Destroyer (1) 2. Bob Armstrong (2) 3. Magnificent Muraco (4) 4. Pampero Firpo (8) 5. Jack Brisco (3) 6. Steve Williams (9) 7. Ray Stevens (7) 8. Ted DiBiase (5) 9. Bob Roop (6) 10. Brian Blair (10) SCCW Tag-Team Champions: VALIANT BROTHERS (C) 1. Bob & Brad Armstrong (1) 2. The Destroyer & Ray Stevens (3) 3. Flying Redheads (2) 4. J.J. Dillon & Larry Hennig (5) 5. Dirty Daltons ( - )

SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 8/7/2021 Card #13 – Garrett Coliseum – Montgomery, AL
Welcome to South Coast Championship Wrestling! Join us now for the fast-paced competition of professional wrestling featuring the top grapplers from the nation’s largest governing body, the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. Before the show began, there was a drawing for Pampero Firpo’s third defense of the Beat the Champ Title. Tonight’s challenger will be J.J. Dillon! Let’s get to the action…
Magnificent Muraco b Brad Armstrong A really strong match by Brad, but Muraco was able to turn things around while brawling on the floor and won with his Hawaiian Hammer. During the bout, announcers Charlie Platt and Les Thatcher announced a tag title match under Texas Death rules had been signed between the Armstrongs and Valiants. That match will happen in Meridian, Mississippi on August 21st.
Billy “Red” Lyons b Quebecer Jacques This was a pretty one-sided bout with Lyons getting the best of Rougeau. He seemed able to reverse Jacques’ offense whenever the Quebecer would mount an attack. Lyons won with the Figure Four Leglock, but that wasn’t the end of the action. With Bastien not on the card, both Quebecers attacked Lyons and brutalized him until Ted DiBiase and the Briscos hit the ring and made the save. Based on preliminary estimates, Lyons will probably be out of action for eight weeks.
Ray Stevens dq Brian Blair Great back and forth match. After several exciting exchanges and near falls, things began to get more and more aggressive. After a clothesline sending both to the floor, Blair was fed up. After Stevens took several shortcuts, Blair just grabbed him and rammed his head into the ring post a few times resulting in a disqualification.
Jack & Jerry Brisco b Dirty Daltons About a month ago, the Daltons scored a major upset defeating the Briscos (although with an assist from the Destroyer and Ray Stevens). This time around, the Briscos were pretty fired up and controlled much of the action. They also kept an eye open for any potential interference. It ended when Jerry locked in the Figure Four Leglock on Frank Dalton. Jack was keeping Johnny Dalton busy and Frank had to submit. It was the Daltons first pinfall loss since the WWWA was formed.
Alligator Alley Title: PAMPERO FIRPO b J.J. Dillon Holy cow! Firpo stormed the ring and attacked Dillon before the bell even rang! As Jimmy McGuire had the timekeeper ring the bell, Firpo locked on El Garfio and got a quick submission. Another $5,000 for the Wild Bull of the Pampas – “Oooohhhh Yeeahhh!”
Ted DiBiase dq Bob Roop DiBiase got a disqualification win a few weeks ago in Panama City, and this was a highly anticipated rematch between two ranked contenders. This one got heated quickly and tempers flared right away. Once again, when DiBiase started asserting himself, Roop went into panic mode. He hit DiBiase with a low blow right in front of referee Ron Sexton. Another disqualification win, which sent the fans home happy but was not entirely satisfying for Teddy.
DiBiase was livid and demanded another match against Roop. And the Firpo train just keeps on rolling! Here’s what the fans at the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge can expect next week:
* The Masked Superstar, a former SCCW Champion, will return to the area! He wasn’t well loved by the fans during his first stay, and no one expects that to change this time around. We’ll find out what the master of the dreaded Cobra Hold has in store next week!
* With Billy “Red” Lyons recovering from injury, Red Bastien has called upon D’Lo Brown to substitute in a match against the Quebecers! It should be interesting to see how Brown fares after being inserted in the middle of this heated rivalry.
* Your big main event will see a return match between Ted DiBiase and Bob Roop! SCCW ownership acted quickly and got this match signed. The match will be two out of three falls and should be a barnburner! Hopefully both competitors will keep the illegal tactics to a minimum to avoid further DQs, but who knows what will happen when tempers flare?
All this and much more next time in Baton Rouge!
PROMOTER NOTE: The plan for the remainder of 2021 With the 2022 LOW team draft and roster realignment behind us, here's the plan for SCCW. We start with the new rosters on 1/1/2022 (except Stu, who was smart enough not to have his fed tied to a timeline). I'll probably cut down to 2-3 shows per month after August 2021. Expect a lot of shows from Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. More will be explained through the "Breaking News" narratives than arena results to keep things moving. Some angles, stories, debuts and departures will be a little rushed to try and catch up and get me to the roster I need at December 31st.
