SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 8/21/2021 Card #15 – Frank Cochran Center – Meridian, MS
Welcome to South Coast Championship Wrestling! Join us now for the fast-paced competition of professional wrestling featuring the top grapplers from the nation’s largest governing body, the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. We’ve got a huge Texas Death Match for the tag-team championship in our main event tonight! Let’s get to the action…
Tom Prichard b Jan Nelson Doctor Tom made short work of his unheralded opponent, beating Nelson with an Enzuigiri.
Masked Superstar b George South Another quick match, as the former SCCW Champion dispatched South easily with the dreaded Cobra Hold. He shook South violently after locking in the hold. After the bout, Superstar was asked what his plans were and if he was going to ally himself with any of the current South Coast talent. Superstar was noncommittal, but said his motives would be very clear, very soon.
Quebecer Pierre cor D’Lo Brown With Brown & Prichard being introduced to the Flying Redheads/Quebecers feud, it was no surprise that singles matches are being negotiated involving them. Brown was all over Pierre in this one. He had Pierre dead to rights after a Lo-Down, but Jacques Rougeau tried to grab a leg so that Brown couldn’t go for the pin. Brown slid out of the ring and chased Rougeau around. Unfortunately, he lost track of the count, giving Pierre the cheap victory.
Harley Race & Larry Hennig dq Steve Williams & Scott Casey Doctor Death is challenging Race for the South Coast Title next week in Hattiesburg, and there was a lot of anticipation for this bout. Williams and Hennig started off and traded power moves. Casey tagged in, his issues with Hennig being well documented. Once Hennig cheated to get the advantage, he tagged in Race. Harley was able to gain the upper hand. Casey kicked out of a Piledriver, which got a huge reaction from the crowd. Later, after a couple tag attempts failed due to distractions by Hennig, Race went for another cover. Williams had seen enough and charged into the ring. He snatched Race and started laying in haymakers, knocking Harley all over the place. It led to a disqualification, but the brawl between Williams and Race continued. Casey and Hennig were brawling as well, and the fighting continued down the aisle and into the locker room.
The Intelligent Sensational Destroyer b Brian Blair The Destroyer was clearly not taking Blair too seriously as an opponent. Big mistake. Blair cleaned his clock, knocking the masked man around the ring throughout the long contest. After winning some exchanges on the floor, the Destroyer was obviously bleeding underneath his mask. However, when Blair missed a top rope legdrop, it opened the door for the Destroyer. He got Blair outside the ring, ramming him back first into the steel ring post. A weary Destroyer tossed Blair into the ring and applied a bow & arrow that resulted in the submission.
SCCW Tag-Team Championship: JIMMY & JOHNNY VALIANT b Bob & Brad Armstrong (Texas Death Match) This was the expected to be the big finale to this feud, and there were several other teams awaiting the outcome. The Valiants were looking good early but needed an assist from crazed manager Lou Albano when Bob caught Jimmy in the sleeper. That led to the champions doing a brutal double-team job on Bob that left him bleeding heavily. Just when it looked like he was done, Armstrong escaped and made the desperation tag to his son. Brad cleaned house, scoring near falls on both Valiants. Although beaten up, Bob tagged back in and got some shots in himself. The whirlwind of action saw Bob knocked out of the ring, where he brawled with Jimmy. Meanwhile, Johnny used a jumping stomp on a steel chair and followed with a Spinning Neckbreaker on Brad. A handful of tights help him secure the three count and the victory.
Well, it looks like the Valiants have put the Armstrongs in their rear-view mirror for the time being, albeit by deceitful means. But the Armstrongs always bounce back well. And the Masked Superstar looked like he hasn’t missed a step. Well, SCCW is stepping to Hattiesburg, MS for the next big show, and here’s what the fans can look forward to:
* The battles between J.J. Dillon’s group and the trio of Ted DiBiase, Brian Blair & Scott Casey seem far from over. Next time, Dillon and Larry “The Axe” Hennig will square off against Blair & Casey in tag-team action!
* Jack Brisco has had bad luck in two previous singles matches against The Destroyer. Jack will get another chance in Hattiesburg, and hopefully Ray Stevens will stay in the locker room. Stevens has played a key role in both Destroyer victories.
* Your big main event will see Harley Race defend the South Coast championship against “Doctor Death” Steve Williams! Race is used to having a strength advantage over his opponents, but that won’t be the case here. Can Williams keep his legendary temper in check and win the title?
All this and plus the Alligator Alley Title and a women’s match next time in Hattiesburg!

A chair was used, along with a handful of tights - come on ref.
I hope the SCCW looks into this and gives the Armstrongs a rematch, maybe in a STEEL CAGE!

Great Lakes Championship Wrestling TV Tapings Treasure Island Resort & Casino: Welch, MN Show 15: August 14 (Aired on tape delay)
Mick Karch and “Ringside” Ralph Strangis recapped the card from Lake Lillian Days!
1) Joe Blanchard returned to action and picked up a pinfall on Nacho Barrera. The Mexican grappler Barrera had some early control but the Texan rallied back. He scored the pinfall in about three minutes with a piledriver. Blanchard was interviewed by Mick afterward. Mick welcomed him back and asked how he was doing coming off his injury from Evan “Strangler” Lewis. Blanchard said he feels he's at 100% and he thanked Mick and the fans for their support. He said he wants a rematch with Lewis at the Minnesota State Fair!
2) Butcher Vachon (w/ Teddy Long) scored a submission win over Mikey Whipwreck (1) in four minutes. Whipwreck came out fighting at the bell and sent Vachon into the corner. He charged in with a double sledge but Vachon cut him off with a boot to the face. The Algerian made a cover but Whipwreck kicked out. Vachon gave Whipwreck a beating and won the match after getting him up in the hangman. Mick interviewed Vachon and Long after but the two were interrupted, as Mick was handed a note from WWWA officials. He read that next week, Big Van Vader will be at Treasure Island and will have an answer for Long’s challenge for a match with the Great Gama!
3) A new star debuted in Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, as “The Golden Boy” Adrian Adonis scored a win over Red Tyler. Adonis hails from New York City and wore a leather jacket to the ring. He insulted the fans at Treasure Island. Tyler tried to ruin Adonis’ debut and had a lot of offense in the opening moments. He got overzealous and missed a dropkick, which allowed Adonis to slap on his sleeperhold, which Mick informed the viewing audience is known as Goodnight, Irene. Tyler quickly dropped to the mat. Billy J. checked Tyler’s arm and it dropped three times, so Billy called for the bell and awarded the bout to Adonis via submission in just under two minutes. Adonis was interviewed by Mick, who welcomed him to Great Lakes Championship Wrestling. Adonis smugly said that Mick better be glad he’s here. He told the wrestling world that “The Golden Boy” is here to win some gold!
“Ringside” Ralph previewed the August 29 card from the Minnesota State Fair! *Two Texans will tangle, when “The Ragin’ Bull” Manny Fernandez faces Tully Blanchard! *Another Blanchard will be in action, as Joe Blanchard looks for revenge against Evan “Strangler” Lewis! Blanchard was put out of action for three months by Lewis’ stranglehold. He has to be very careful of this deadly maneuver. Can the Texan avenge that injury? *Minnesota’s own Jim Brunzell and Jerry Lynn will defend the Great Lakes Tag Team championship against The PitBulls! After having two time-limit draws on Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, these teams had a 30-minute time-limit match that “The Original Dogs of War” won on the July 31 episode, thanks in large part to the use of one of their dog collar chains. Can the Philadelphia brawlers win the gold? *The main event will be a much-anticipated bout, as Ed “Strangler” Lewis returns to Great Lakes Championship Wrestling to defend the WWWA World Heavyweight championship against the current Great Lakes Heavyweight champion Dan “The Beast” Severn. Lewis, as a GLCW representative, won the title in the one-night, eight-man tournament back on May 20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But he has a history with Severn, dating back to February 2020, when Severn defeated him in two straight falls at the West St. Paul Armory to become the first Great Lakes Heavyweight champion. Severn has been a fighting Great Lakes champion and would love to become the second WWWA champion. This bout will have a 60-minute time limit! Can Severn defeat Lewis once again, this time for the top prize in the WWWA or will the “Strangler” keep his stranglehold on the belt?
4) Al Snow (1) earned a hard-fought victory over “Ravishing” Randy Rose (3) of the Diamond Exchange in about 10 minutes. Diamond Dallas Page accompanied his tag team partner to the ring for this singles bout. The martial artist Snow had the early advantage. He lifted up Rose for the Snow Plow but DDP tripped Snow from the outside, causing Rose to fall on top and take control. Snow fought back after a few minutes but “Ravishing” Randy cut him off with a knee to the midsection and hit a DDT to score a two-count. Rose whipped Snow into the corner but Snow slid down to the mat before hitting the buckles, quickly got back to his feet, and came back at Rose with a clothesline! He took control and hit a huracanrana to score the pinfall. As Mick interviewed Snow, he pointed out that he used his fighting skills to win, despite Page’s interference. And when he battles the Sandman at the Minnesota State Fair, no matter how many weapons Sandman brings, he will win the battle!
Next week on Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, Joe Blanchard will be back in action! Plus, two members of The Diamond Exchange in tag team competition! And a rematch from Lake Lilian Days, when “The Clawmaster” Baron Von Raschke faces The Great Gama of The Playas Club! Plus, Big Van Vader will be at Treasure Island to answer Teddy Long and Gama’s challenge! And a special in-ring interview with WWWA World Heavyweight champion Ed “Strangler” Lewis and Great Lakes Heavyweight champion Dan “The Beast” Severn prior to their World championship bout at the Minnesota State Fair!

SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 8/28/2021 Card #16 – Wade Kennedy Livestock Show Arena – Hattiesburg, MS
Welcome to South Coast Championship Wrestling! Join us now for the fast-paced competition of professional wrestling featuring the top grapplers from the nation’s largest governing body, the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. We’ve got an Alligator Alley title defense by Pampero Firpo against…Johnny Dalton, whose name was drawn the pool of challengers. Your main event will see Jack Brisco face The Destroyer! Let’s get to the action…
“Handsome” Jimmy Valiant b Brian Armstrong Valiant had “Super Star” on the backside of his tights for this one. Armstrong put up a great fight and had a couple good exchanges on the floor. Lou Albano was ranting and raving at ringside but didn’t get involved. Valiant wound up winning with a Super Elbow.
Tom Prichard & D’Lo Brown dq The Quebecers This one started out with some back and forth but got out of control quickly. The Quebecers hit the Bombe de Rougeu on Prichard, who managed to roll out of the ring before a pin was attempted. Ouellet took the action to the floor and was disqualified after repeatedly ramming Prichard’s head into the turnbuckle. D’Lo tried to save his partner and was quickly joined by Red Bastien to make sure the assault didn’t get out of hand.
Special Attraction: Princess Victoria b Joyce Grable Grable got off to a fast start, but Victoria turned things around and got a couple pin attempts with her lethal tomahawk chops. Grable regained control and got a near fall of her own, but Victoria caught her with a Cross Body Block to get the win.
Ray Stevens b Red Bastien Bastien was really controlling the fight and had Stevens in trouble. However, Ray drew Red into a fight on the floor. The referee had been distracted by The Destroyer at ringside, allowing Stevens to pop Red with a foreign object and roll him back in the ring. Stevens then hit a Bomb’s Away kneedrop to get the victory.
Larry Hennig & J.J Dillon b Brian Blair & “Cowboy” Scott Casey Rivals Casey and Hennig got things going. Turned into a close contest, with each side having their moments. Key point was Dillon landing a cheap shot on Blair in the corner. That led to the referee being tied up putting Casey of the ring. Out of nowhere, the Valiant brothers ran to the ring and popped Blair with a foreign object, then scooted away. Hennig used an elbow drop and The Axe on Blair to get the win. Both Blair and Casey complained to the referee after the bell, but it didn’t help. Blair & Casey then challenged the Valiants to put up the tag titles against them on the next show in Dothan.
Alligator Alley Title: PAMPERO FIRPO b Johnny Dalton Another $5,000 in the bank for the Wild Bull of the Pampas! This was more competitive than some thought it would be, and Dalton escaped El Garfio once, but got caught again later and gave up.
Jack Brisco b The Intelligent Sensational Destroyer A highly anticipated rematch that saw senior referee Tommy Weathers eject both Ray Stevens and Jerry Brisco from ringside just minutes into the bout. Both seconds were getting a little too involved, and their ejection made everyone happy (except The Destroyer). Great back and forth action that saw both men avoid the other’s Figure Four Leglock. Destroyer got a couple near falls with a backbreaker and bomb’s away, but Brisco fought back. Jack had the crowd behind him and used a backbreaker and double underhook suplex to get near falls of his own. Finish saw Brisco with another near fall using the Rolling Reverse Cradle. Destroyer kicked out but was disoriented. Brisco went right back to the same move and got the pinfall. It was The Destroyer’s first loss since the WWWA reorganization. ****
SCCW Championship: HARLEY RACE dq Steve Williams Both men came into the title match with some momentum. Harley had finally gotten past the trio of Ted DiBiase, Brian Blair & Scott Casey. Doc had exorcised the demons from his loss to Stan Hansen in the WWA Title tournament and seemed focused. However, the hair trigger temper Williams has shown came into play again. Race was getting away with a lot of underhanded tactics thanks to J.J. Dillon’s work at ringside distracting referee Larry Brock. Williams eventually blew his stack and was relentlessly pounding on Race in the corner. Brock’s warnings went unheeded, and he was forced to call for the bell, handing Doc his 4th DQ loss in as many months.
Race maintains his unblemished record with the win in the main event, although he didn’t look like the winner after the match ended. And Jack Brisco gets a big victory, and Pampero Firpo keeps on rolling. We’ll be in Dothan, AL next time, and here’s what the fans can look forward to:
* With The Destroyer suffering his first pinfall defeat, he looks to take his anger out on Jack’s younger brother Jerry Brisco in Dothan!
* Speaking of Jack Brisco, he’s been tied up in matches with the Destroyer since his return to the area, but hasn’t forgotten about the South Coast Title! He’ll take on Harley Race’s de facto manager J.J. Dillon, the self-proclaimed “Leader of Men”, in singles action!
* Be careful what you wish for. Your big main event will see Handsome Jimmy and Luscious Johnny defend the tag-team championship against Brian Blair & “Cowboy” Scott Casey! The Valiants have been on a roll since regaining the tag titles from the Armstrongs in April. Blair & Casey will need to get the job done while also dealing with manic Lou Albano patrolling.
All this and much more next time at the Houston County Farm Center!
