I hope the Pistons win the lottery and then one of the teams right behind them really wants the top pick. I would be happy trading the #1 overall pick for something in the 2-5 range if it got us more picks down the road.

Ugh. Jumped twice. Well, we have a lot of young pieces that hopefully continue to grow so if we can get the right guy even at 5 we can see improvement this year.

Bummer. Word is this is a 3 player draft. We’ll see.

It seems higher at top 3, of course that includes the guy from Gonzaga who could be boom or bust, but it does have a bit of depth so should still get someone good at 5.

Some mocks I have seen have us taking Sharpe from KY. No thank you. A guy that enrolls early and then never plays is someone that is too worried about the future and possibly thinks he is better than he really is. We don't need someone like that. Odds are every injury you can double the time missed.

www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34132481/detroit-pistons-trading-forward-jerami-grant-portland-trail-blazers-2025-1st-round-pick-sources-sayThe Detroit Pistons are trading forward Jerami Grant to the Portland Trail Blazers for a 2025 first-round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The 2025 first-round pick via Milwaukee is protected Nos. 1-4, sources said. Detroit sends Grant into a $21 million trade exception, and the Pistons now have $43 million in salary cap space for free agency. Detroit will swap 2022 second-round picks -- getting No. 36 for No. 46 -- with Portland, too. Detroit gets a 2025 second-round pick back from Portland, and Portland sends the most favorable 2026 second-round pick between Portland and the New Orleans Pelicans to Detroit, sources said. I knew they would trade him and overall, this is a good trade. A first-round pick, two second round picks and we move up 10 spots in the second round of this draft. Just wish there was more help coming this year. That those picks we actually get do not start for 3 years is tough. Of course, by then our young guys will be hitting their prime and if we lose one to FA or decide to trade them we will have some picks to reload. I was not interested in what the Pistons did in the second round but now I am a bit more interested as I feel they have someone targeted thus the swap of picks.

I’m not paying too much attention to the Pistons, and won’t until they start winning, but I’ll watch the draft. Few guys look interesting.

Draft if always a fun thing in football and basketball. Agree. I’m fully immersed in NFL and college football. But I follow baseball, basketball and hockey the way I followed it as a kid - through the standings and results. Used to love sitting down at the kitchen table reading the sports section. Now I bookmark standings and results pages, bypassing the headlines the stories. I watch the playoffs.
