Always good to hear about feds others follow. Good luck with the language lessons, Stu.

Great content again guys. Were there dogs barking in the background, or were those just mine I was hearing? Does Cory still have beefcake on his mind?

I believe one or both of Chad's dogs could be heard at one point. And I don't have beefcake on my mind but I did have beefsteak for dinner tonight. Does that count? Thanks for being a loyal listener, Matt!

Great episode...fun listen while I was out and about today. Had to laugh that it was the Olson Bros that lead to the creation of the "Nerd Sheet" and because of Beefcake and Bagwell! That was a good chuckle.
I will have to send in the story of my one and only Lou Albano encounter...but gonna keep you in suspense until I do so!

Great episode. Finished it tonight. Always like the deep dive into the sets.
I had no knowledge of The Midnight Express before that set. I mean, yes, I’d heard of them but getting that set led me to learning more about them and I used them from year one in my fed. They are the second longest reigning tag champs in my fed, second only to the Road Warriors.
Looking forward to the next one.

I finished listening to this episode tonight after watching Double or Nothing and while posting LOW and COTG fed results.
Legends Rematch was a very special set for me because it was seeing a news announcement for that set which brought me back to playing Filsinger Games (I remember that was in 2003 and the 24 black and white card LOW intro set was also released earlier that year.)
During my fed's black and white card days, from Legends Rematch, the Midnight Express were arguably my most dominant tag team and I believe Mil Mascaras was my final champion before that fed and its history got reincarnated into my current LOW color card fed.
I am hoping you will do a similar episode for the next set Legends Hardcore that was released the following year.

Really enjoyable episode, guys. If there was one thing I'd change about Legends Rematch it probably would be having Chuck Carter draw Mil Mascaras' card art instead of Sonny Strait. I don't know how it was decided in regards to what wrestlers Chuck would handle, but I think his skillset would have given us a great Mil Mascaras. Instead he was tasked with doing a few pretty standard looking guys like Hacksaw and DLJ. Seeing as how that is almost certainly the only Mil card we'll ever officially get, I'd have liked to have seen the best art possible. Much respect to Sonny for doing the bulk of the work on those early sets, but sometimes his art looks a little...."low res", maybe foggy or blurry. Bad scans? Problem with reproduction of the original? Our podcast hosts are extremely polite, but maybe that is a subject for a future show.

I love Carter’s original COTG art, but you know...I didn’t care for his legends art. Too “sketchy” and way too many lines. Strait...he did good work in the initial sets, but man, he dropped off badly in the later sets.

There's a whole lot of cross hatching going on in the Carter legends art, but I feel like he could have really worked with Mil with the mask and dynamic look. Sonny relied on seriously heavy shadows. The art on all of it looks kind of muddy, which is why I wonder if there was a problem in production. It was the early 00s, tech wasn't what it is today, and they were probably working with scans instead of original art, so that could have been a slight factor.

Great content again guys. Were there dogs barking in the background, or were those just mine I was hearing? Does Cory still have beefcake on his mind? Those were April and Cooper. My living room where the dogs exit to go outside is right above my office, so if they have to go, you might hear them barking and/or the sliding glass door opening to the patio. I try to keep my mic on mute when I'm not talking but sometimes I forget. Sorry about that!
