I get the disagreement. And I get it with Brody's "down - 3." I'm not as vocal about it as some people were, but I get it. I'm on Team Tim all the way when it comes to Curt Hennig's C turnbuckle, though.
If I recall--and I think Tom himself told me this--they didn't have a proper reference photo available when it was time to do a Johnny Valiant drawing. All anyone had was stuff from his Johnny V days. So Chuck sort of had to reverse-engineer a Johnny V drawing with a beard and shades into a clean-shaven look, which is why that drawing looked so...clunky.
Re: tracing...who did that ghastly Buddy Rogers updated art? Was that Sonny? I want to say it was somebody else. That was the one that I think might have been traced. Strait's efforts on some later artwork (especially Londos) weren't up to par, though.

Strait's efforts on some later artwork (especially Londos) weren't up to par, though. ...... I believe the second Rogers art was drawn by Scott Rosema, the sort of forgotten Legends artist. He also did that bad second Nick Bockwinkel drawing. IDK if it was "traced" per se, but there definitely is no underlying structure to the figures in those drawings, as if he just took a pen and winged it without sketching anything out in advance. Line quality is awful, too. Compare to his Kangaroos and Red Berry art to see what I mean as far as the difference in quality and figure. And so this thread doesn't get accused of becoming all "crap on the early legends art", imagine I wrote something about the podcast here. Which was another great show, once again. Nice weather we're having, too.

Really enjoyed that episode... The first thing I did when I finished listening was check the history on my current Legends fed to see exactly how long Jimmy Valiant has been absent... Gotta make sure he has enough time to grow that Boogie Woogie beard! HA!

I'm very glad Rematch got you back into the game, Vegas! You've become a great friend and are a huge asset to this community. Not to worry, we'll review all of the sets, both LOW and COTG, over the course of the podcast. Might take us a few years, but we're not planning on stopping! Thanks Chad! I remember seeing news about Legends Rematch (it was 18 years ago but I think it might have been from the website through an Internet search about something regarding wrestling?) that alerted me to the fact that Filsinger Games was now doing sets for legendary wrestlers and that brought me back. I had been away from playing the game for probably 10 years, and I just thought one day... "I wonder if Filsinger Games is still around?" So I did a search online, and lo and behold, I discovered that, not only were they still in business, but Legends was now a thing!" And Rematch had apparently just come out. I ordered it and the starter set, and haven't looked back since!

I didn't realize that was the time you got (back) into the game. It was right around that time that I first got into Legends. I believe I picked up the Legends intro, Rematch and, I think, a couple of the LE/SEs that were out at the time.

Just listening to this now. I was the one who sent you those DVDs many years ago, Cory. You started talking about it and it immediately jumped into my mind, "I think I sent those to him." lol

Another great show…I was still on a ‘hiatus’ from Filsinger Games when this set came out and I enjoy hearing the commentary on all the cards.
As a data/spreadsheet fan, I am truly fascinated by the nerd sheet and hope that there’s more discussion on it. Keep up the greatness, gents!

Always love when you dive into the earlier sets, and this was no exception. While I have only been really hooked on Legends for a short time (which entirely began with this podcast), I bought this set as a PDF not that long ago and loved it. Just great blend of talent, and I can see why it would have been such a great addition when it came out based on what were the available sets at the time. Love having Mil Mascaras, Don Leo, and Sabu for the game even if color versions never come. Liked hearing how you used them in your Feds and the ideas behind their stats. Appreciated hearing your opinions on Bagwell as well. While I remained a WCW fan until the end surviving all those goofy angles and hot mess of a show at times, his Buff character was one of my least favorite things to watch. Thanks for another great episode.
