From the Desk of the President CHANGES COMING IN 2087
Deimos, Mars – 5 December 2086First and foremost, I must express my gratitude to Galaxian Championship Sports and GWF Co-Founders Omega and Morpheus for having the faith in me to serve as the new GWF President. It is an awesome responsibility and one that I take very seriously. However, I know that I was not given this position to merely maintain the promotion, but rather to help it usher in a new age in the sport of professional wrestling. To that end, I have three major announcements to make today.
- The GWF is hereby renamed the Galaxian Wrestling Federation
The Galactic Wrestlers Federation was named to represent the fact that a collective of wrestlers were coming together in the spirit of competition to build something great. And they did. But now, the GWF is something more. We are poised to make the GWF the finest sports league in the galaxy and our relationship with GCS is a major part of that. Our new name, while retaining the GWF initials and honoring their legacy, shows our connection and dedication to our relationship with GCS and our goal to become the premier sports promotion in the galaxy.
- The GWF Heavyweight and Tag Team Championship are retired
With our change in name, it is time to look to the future with championships befitting our ambition. While the GWF Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships are both titles of prestige and distinguished lineage, this is a new GWF with a new galaxywide scope. To that end, new championship belts are being crafted for the Galaxian Heavyweight and Galaxian Tag Team Championships. These championships are vacant at this time and the tournaments will be held in January of 2087 to fill the vacancies at our now two-night spectacular The Perennial.
- New GWF programming to debut on HVSN
In addition to the currently syndicated GWF Main Event Wrestling program, the GWF will add a new flagship program in the form of GWF Action. GWF Action will be a one-hour program airing Sundays at 7pm Universal Standard Time on HVSN. HVSN is the galaxywide leader in sports programming and this will provide unprecedented exposure for the GWF. GWF Action will also serve as a lead-in for our pay-per-view supercards, an announcement about which will come in the next few days.
I am excited for all the opportunities and changes that are coming for the GWF in 2087 and beyond. I strongly feel that the GWF is an amazing sport league and will become a premier league in the future as it grows and evolves. Again, my thanks to the Board of Directors and particularly to Omega and Morpheus for their advice and counsel as we move forward.
Best Regards, Zachary Carter President, GWF

Excerpt from GWF Magazine for February 2087WHO REALLY WON & LOST AT THE PERENNIALby Johnny Rocket On January 25th and 26th, more than 150,000 fans poured into the Deimos Intergalactic Arena on Deimos, Mars to see the freshman supercard from the newly rechristened GWF under Galaxian Championship Sports. They were not disappointed as they saw the crowning the first ever Galaxian Heavyweight and Galaxian Tag Team Champions. But when the smoke cleared, who really won and who really lost at The Perennial?
Night one saw the quarterfinals of both the Heavyweight and Tag Team Tournaments and there were few surprises. In the Heavyweight Tournament, the favorites all advanced with Lord Nexus, Wolf, Thantos, and Star Warrior all moving on to night two's semifinals. While Lord Nexus handily dispatched Vanity and Wolf likewise defeated Exo-King, Thantos and Star Warrior had a tougher time.
Star Warrior's draw of facing Invincible Krakan was expected to be a tough match-up for the second generation star and it was indeed with Krakan taking Warrior past the 20 minute mark before falling victim to the Nova Launch. But, match of the night honors went to a match no one expected to be a tough as it was when Thantos took on the rookie Massif. For much of the 10 minute match, the young big man stood toe-to-toe and held his own with the Evil Gamemaster. However, in the end, Thantos got Massif down and locked in the Masterlock to draw the submission.
On the tag side of things, The Henchmen, The Greek Gods, and The Gladiators all moved on in impressive fashion, as expected. However, night one's opening contest yielded quite the surprise. The Royal Court was highly favored over Federation Defense Fighter veterans Omega and Commander Sam, both looked at by many as past their prime. So much for favorites. Omega's vaunted Tomahawk Thrust took down Killer Queen after nearly 8 minutes of hammer and tongs competition. Definitely a setback for the Court, but there was a question in the air for night two. Omega and Commander Sam showed while they aren't as good as they once were, they can be as good once as they ever were. Could they be that good two more times?
Going into night two, the two preliminary matches were statement makers. The Court's setbacks continued as the Society of Death's Ghengis Khan and Mutant took them down in short order. Then, Massif continued to impress. After lasting 10 minutes with Thantos on night one, he would face Invincible Krakan on night two... and beat him in 3 and a half minutes! Krakan was heard in the locker room afterwards complaining of "injuries" from his match the prior night, but the fact is Massif defeated Krakan six times less time than his stablemate Star Warrior did the night before. That's impressive! In tag tournament action, The Henchmen defeated The Greek Gods in the sleeper match of the night. After 30 minutes, Comrade Terror drew a submission from Actagon in what is nothing less than an upset, and it wouldn't be the last upset on the night. The next match, though, was not an upset. Omega and Commander Sam would face The Gladiators and put up a hell of a fight for nearly 10 minutes, but the Aethrans were simply too young, too big, too fast, and too much. The Henchmen versus The Gladiators would crown our first Galaxian Tag Champs. Now, if someone told you that Wolf defeated Thantos or that Lord Nexus defeated Star Warrior, neither of those things on their own would be called a surprise or an upset. But, what if both happened... on the same night... with a combined match time of less than 7 minutes? Yeah, those would be upsets. And yeah, that happened. Wolf went to work fast and Thantos never got out of the blocks with Wolf scoring the pin with a high cross body. Star Warrior, on the other hand, was all offense against Lord Nexus, but found himself countered and drilled with a Titan Drop out of nowhere. And like that, the top two seeds were out and Wolf versus Lord Nexus became the night's Main Event. Two matches left, both under Titan Death Match rules, one fall to a finish, for Galaxian gold. The Gladiators and The Henchmen faced off first in front of a split crowd. Some cheered Brute and Massacre as they are the more charismatic duo to be sure and Cygnus isn't on a lot of vacation destination lists. Others cheered The Henchmen because, well, they didn't eliminate two legendary and beloved fan favorites earlier in the night. Regardless of the cheers, which neither team cared about anyway, The Gladiators went to war with The Henchmen and, after a Massacre Slam on The Executioner, came out on top. The Gladiators are the new Galaxian Tag Team Champions. Then, it was Main Event time! Wolf, the wildman from Andromeda, one-on-one with Lord Nexus, the leader of the Fighting Titans. It wasn't long, but it was violent and hard fought. Both men emptied their tanks quickly, but it would be Wolf looking for the cross body that beat Thantos earlier in the night that proved the beginning of the end. Nexus, in an uncharacteristic power display, caught Wolf and muscled him up to a fireman's carry, then hit the Titan Drop. Three seconds later and "Eye of the Tiger" played throughout the arena. Pulsar and Pit Viper hit the ring to celebrate first, as did others, as Lord Nexus was awarded the Galaxian Heavyweight Championship belt by GWF President Zachary Carter. The holocast went off the air with TitanExpress hoisting the new Champ on their shoulders in victory. An incredible two nights of action, but no time to rest. Quantum Encounter is right around the corner, coming from the historic Jamestown Athletic Complex on Earth. If you can't be there in person on February 23rd, then check with your local HV provider to catch it exclusively on HVSN-Plus. You don't want to miss it!
