In addition to my LOW fed (which you can see the results of here) I decided I’m going to try an NJPW style fed with lots of round robin and knockout tournaments & hopefully spice up the feuds up and down the cards that way. I kept my 2087 results (and the first few cards of 2088) from my previous reboot as I didn't want all the titles vacant again.
I tend to pick up and put down COTG/LOW (or Filsinger games in general) on a whim so one or both of these feds may go awhile without an update, but I feel like I'm at a point where I have the formats down for both federations and as such I don't plan on any more reboots for a very, very long time.
What I settled on here was 3 tournaments: The Galaxian Tag League, The GWF Cup, and The Tournament of Planets.
The GWF cup is an 8 man single elimination tournament, with the winner getting a title shot of their choosing (they can also designate a partner and challenge for the tag titles).
The other two are 12 man/team round robin tournaments broken up into two groups with the top 2 in each group moving to the semi finals, the next 2 getting and invite to next year’s tournament, and the bottom two being barred from the tournament for at least the next 2 years. The winner of the tag league gets a shot at the tag titles, while the winner of the Tournament of Planets gets to set whatever match they want for the main event of the Demios SuperClash. Any competitors and any stipulations/titles on the line they want.
I wanted to leave it somewhat open to let the story flow and to differentiate the two singles tournaments. What if Bounty Hunter wins the GWF Cup but Wolf is the Interstellar Champion? Does he go for the Galaxian Title or does he go after his hated enemy's belt? And in the Tournament of Planets there's all sorts of possibilities. What if Matador wins one year while with the 3rd force but Chaos demands he use his prize to give him a shot at the Galaxian Title instead of Matador using it for himself?
Also with few exceptions, teams are only allowed one entry into each tournament and no wrestler can compete in both the GWF Cup and Tournament of Roses in the same year But like in 2088 the Gladiators only have 1 singles wrestler so I’m not sure yet if I’ll let Spike enter both or not.

These are the results of the first two stages of the 2088 Galaxian Tag League, part of my fed reboot in the style of NJPW. The 2088 Tag League is a round robin tournament broken up into two groups of 6. With the the top 2 in each group advancing to the Galaxian Tag League semi finals at GWF Triple Card Night 1, with the finals being held on Night 2. The winners will then receive a shot at The Gladiators & the Galaxian Tag Team Titles on Night 3.
The 2 teams finishing 3rd and 4th in each group will be invited to return to the tournament in 2089, while the bottom 2 teams in each group will be barred from competing in the Tag League for at least 2 years. No GWF team can have more than 1 team entered. Galaxian Champion Thantos was able to find a loophole in the rules and enter with Spike, a non team member of his.
Tiebreaking rules will go by head to head result. If there's a 3 way tie, then if 1 team lost to the other two they are dropped and the head to head of the remaining teams is used. If there's a 3 way tie in which each team is 1-1 then the official tag team rankings (which is based on W/L i track) will be used to eliminate one team then use head to head for the reamaining two teams. More complicated tiebreakers will be decided on a case by case basis.
before i post any results, these are the groups. Galaxian Tag Team Champions The Gladiators are ineligible:
Group A: Bomb Squad King & Queen Greek Gods Space Croppers Henchmen Animen
Group B: Titan Power Thantos & Spike Splatter & Mutant Norse Gods Massif & Mesmer Beauty & Beast

Galaxian Tag League Stage 2 Card 28 Late February 2088 Ecliptic Hall, Libra (9,722)In an outstanding match that saw the referee injured and several near falls, the Animen beat the Henchmen; Bomb Squad beat the Space Croppers in a squash; Massif and Mesmer beat Beauty and the Beast in a match that nearly saw Creeper get a pin over Massif when he had the big man dead to rights, but Massif kicked out on a roll of 10 and eventually came back to pin Vanity; in a twist of irony, Spatter and Mutant beat TitanPower by DQ when Lord Nexus was disqualified for hitting Splatter with a chair; in a back and forth match, the Greek Gods rallied to beat Exo-King and Killer Queen; in an interview prior to the main event, Thantos and Spike were non committal about if they would agree to challenge the Gladiators for the Galaxian Tag Titles should they win the Tag League, telling GWF TV "don't worry about it" in a knowingly snarky tone. What could their plans be?; though immediately after that interview, Thantos and Spike were beaten by Norse Gods. Thantos racked up 6 fatigue tokens and the Galaxian Champion was nearly pinned on multiple occasions, though eventually Spike was pinned by Man-Mountain The Galaxian Tag League Standings through 2 of 5 stages are as follows: Group A Points Bomb Squad 4 Greek Gods 3 King & Queen 2 Animen 2 Space Croppers 1 Henchmen 0
Group B Points Splatter & Mutant 4 Titan Power 2 Thantos & Spike 2 Norse Gods 2 Massif & Mesmer 2 Beauty & Beast 0

Alright, here we go. I'm going to post how the standings changed after each match as there's a lot that goes on here.
Galaxian Tag League Stage 5 Card 31 Early April 2088 Ceres Ampitheatre, Asteroid belt (20,050)
In the opening match Animen beat the Space Croppers, officially relegating them from next year's competition.
Group A Points Bomb Squad 6 King & Queen 6 Animen 6 Henchmen 4 Greek Gods 3 Space Croppers 1
However, due to tie breakers (both Bomb Squad and Killer Queen/Exo-King both beat the Animen) the Animen are eliminated from semi-finals contention, though with the win they clinch an invite to next year's tournament.
The following match was Killer Queen and Exo-King vs The Henchmen. Realizing that King/Queen's place in the semi-finals was secure: as the bell rang the two villian tag teams colluded to have Exo-King lay down in the middle of the ring and allow Comrade Terror to pin him. As such this ensures the Henchmen will receive an invite to next year's tournament, more notable: this act ENSURES THE GREEK GODS ARE RELEGATED AND BARRED FROM PARTICIPATING IN THE TAG LEAGUE FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS. All four men knowingly laughed back to the locker room as the crowd lustily booed. The announcers were stunned silent, but lamented the show must go on....
Our updated Group A standings through 2 matches:
Group A Points Bomb Squad 6 King & Queen 6 Animen 6 Henchmen 6 Greek Gods 3 Space Croppers 1
In Group B, Splatter and Mutant beat Beauty and the Beast when Splatter pinned Creeper following a HATCHET JOB. Splatter and Mutant clinch a spot in the Semi Finals!
Group B Points Splatter & Mutant 8 Titan Power 6 Massif & Mesmer 4 Thantos & Spike 4 Norse Gods 4 Beauty & Beast 0
GWF President Average Reddit User appears to address the collusion incident in the second match of the evening. In order to ensure the integrity of the competition, the following disciplinary actions are being taken with immediate effect:
Firstly, Exo- King & Killer Queen are stripped of their tiebreaker their tiebreaker which currently scheduled them to advance to the semi finals. As such, the Animen of Andromeda will take their place.
Secondly, Exo-King & Killer Queen are banned from next year's tournament
Thirdly, the Henchmen are docked the two points they were awarded for their victory, which will give the Greek Gods an opportunity to escape relegation if they're able to win their match against Bomb Squad Updated Group A Standings:
Group A Points Bomb Squad 6 Animen 6 King & Queen 6 Henchmen 4 Greek Gods 3 Space Croppers 1
Bomb Squad gave an interview in which they strongly condemned the actions of the Henchmen and Exo King/Killer Queen. They promised to uphold the integrity of the competition and give the Greek Gods a straight up fight. If the Greek Gods want to avoid relegation, they'll have to earn it.
Bomb Squad and Greek Gods had an excellent, scientific wrestling match. The Greek Gods nearly had a pin fall win when Commander Sam attempted a pin save which resulted in a donnybrook among all four men. In the chaos, The Henchmen along with Exo-King and Killer Queen hit the ring. They distracted the referee and laid out Proteus with the ringside bell. Neither the referee nor Adam Blast realized what was happening. Blast recovered and pinned Proteus to win the match and relegate the Greek Gods for the second time tonight. Blast almost immediately realized what happened and looked extremely remorseful as the 4 hero wrestlers chased the villains to the back.
The FINAL Group A Standings are
Group A Points Bomb Squad 8 Animen 6 King & Queen 6 Henchmen 4 Greek Gods 3 Space Croppers 1
In Group B, the Norse Gods beat Massif & Mesmer to create a tie for the second semi final spot in Group B, as well as a tie for the 2nd relegation spot. With 1 match to go between Titan Power and Thantos & Spike.
Group B Points Splatter & Mutant 8 Titan Power 6 Norse Gods 6 Massif & Mesmer 4 Thantos & Spike 4 Beauty & Beast 0 In the Main Event, Thantos bloodied Billy Joe Boxer early, the Titans fought back valiantly but eventually fell to the Galaxian Champion and the rookie Gladiator when Spike pinned Lord Nexus.
This result relegated Massif and Mesmer and created a 3 way tie for the second semi final place.
Group B Points Splatter & Mutant 8 Titan Power 6 Norse Gods 6 Thantos & Spike 6 Massif & Mesmer 4 Beauty & Beast 0
After a conferencing of officials, GWF President Average Reddit User appeared and made the following announcement:
As the 3 teams tied for 2nd place in Group B all earned 1 victory each over the other teams involved in the tiebreaker, the overall GWF Tag Team Rankings would be used to eliminate one team from consideration and the Tag League result between the two remaining teams would be used to determine who would advance.
As Thantos and Spike are not an officially registered tag team, they don't have a tag team record with which to go by, therefore the GWF has decided only the rankings for Titan Power and Norse Gods will be used. Titan Power are ranked 3rd, and the Norse Gods 7th. As such, the Norse Gods are eliminated.
Therefore Thantos and Spike, by virtue of their victory against Titan Power here tonight, win the tie breaker and advance to the semi-finals.
The crowd booed heavily. the GWF President stated he understands the frustration, but the decision is final. Thantos and Spike are shown laughing backstage as the show ends....
Final Group B Standings:
Group B Points Splatter & Mutant 8 Thantos & Spike 6 Titan Power 6 Norse Gods 6 Massif & Mesmer 4 Beauty & Beast 0
