I would think Dutch Mantel would be pretty easy to talk to. He is very active on his facebook page. Would love to see Dutch in this set. Man so many names that could be in it. This is exciting.

Dutch is definitely someone I would enjoy having a card. I can imagine several interesting pairings and matchups for him.

I was ring announcer for a local promotion years ago for my friend who was the champ/promoter. He brought in Dutch Mantel for a few shows. One night, he started cracking ol' Shoo baby at my feet, and I jumped! He did it again, and I jumped again! He must have thought I had a real scared look on my face because he said under his breath, "I ain't gonna hurt you", and I said under my breath, "I know". But what else was I supposed to do? When the "Dirty Dutchman" cracks his whip at your feet, you better start dancing!
On another show, Doug Gilbert asked me if I was related to Memphis matchmaker Randy Hales. I said not that I know of, although we do have distant relatives--way down the line--named Hale. Doug said he thought I looked like a young Randy Hales. Dutch said he was thinking the same thing.
I'm not on Facebook, but if anyone reaches out to Dutch, feel free to mention the ring announcer from Southern Illinois wrestling shows. Maybe it will help get him signed!

It's being reported that Jeff Jarrett was let go by WWE in April which is good news for a potential signing for FG's upcoming Memphis set. Fingers crossed!
***Edit... Never good for someone to lose their job. Not celebrating that, just that his non-exclusive connection to WWE means he's a possible signing for the game.

It's being reported that Jeff Jarrett was let go by WWE in April which is good news for a potential signing for FG's upcoming Memphis set. Fingers crossed! If I recall, he did recently sign a figure deal with Zombie Sailor toys. It seems like Jeff would be open to licensing himself for things and whatnot. Here is to hoping. |
