This is a collectible card game, but at the same time it's not. By that I mean the basic definition. There's no pack of cards to buy until you have them all. You buy a set and you have all of the cards.

This is just my opinion, but I hate exclusives. One of the only reasons I keep my Facebook is to sign guys for the game and to promote it. I’d hate for a person to find out about the game today and find out they aren’t able to complete their roster. I think they should be released a year or so after their initial convention release, albeit at a higher price (like $10 for either a printed or online version) While we have a big fan base, I still consider it a close, tight knit community. I hate for fans to be left out. ,..... I don't want to argue over anyone's opinion, but... Exclusives are part of every collectible and game. They're a great incentive. If everything is available to everyone all the time then nothing is special. They've been part of Filsinger Games for decades. Johnny Rocket, Draconian Sheik, P3 and Tyranny: these are rarities that are like grail pieces to collectors. There will always be some forward thinking individual who gets multiple copies and some end up on the secondary market. And that's how you catch up. LOL, but I could care less if anything is special (and I have all those cards). I would rather have fans have the opportunity to get everything. I personally don't understand, in a community like this, people want collectables. I'd rather have fans of the game have the enjoyment of being able to have everything. Save the collectable stuff for big games that dont listen to fans rather a game company that does listen to their fans.

I think in this situation, with this game, the benefits created by "collectible" hype do not outweigh the potential of turning off even one new fan to the game. Doesn't seem prudent.

We have a difference of opinon here, but that dismissive "lol" is a no go. How about cards like the color Bundy? 500 copies and it's sold out. No way to reprint due to contract. What to do there? EVERYONE should always be able to access EVERYTHING, right? So how do we resolve that? Things have end runs and limits. If you're told "hey, this is exclusive to this time and place" and you miss out, then that's life. If you come along later and it's sold out, you find a way or you live without. Comics printed in the 90s. Should I be able to get those on demand for cover price? Get me that first appeareance of Carnage in Amazing Spider-Man and get it to me for $1.50. You can't. I mean, I already have THAT but everyone should get a copy right? Or Magic. Can I get a first print Black Lotus card for the price of a new pack now? Why not? Because stuff sells out.

When I purchased the Best of Filsinger Games set, I got the same Randy Savage card I had earlier purchased as a numbered collectible. Didn't bother me in the least. I never cared that it was collectible. I just cared that it was Randy Savage.

Kind of going off what Travis says ... why not open sales for these characters during conventions. Like if you want Nacho Barrera you could pick up him or past con cards for $10. I'm mixed on collectibles, I see it but obviously if someone like Curt Hennig had been a con exclusive I probably would have quit LOL.

They do usually offer these cards at conventions, but as part of the auction. I guess I like seeing some of the cards have an intrinsic value, and that value being used as part of something charitable. Of course, it’s easy for me to say that, since I have most of the Con-Exclusive cards. My current white whale is a copy of the Johnny Dingdingstrong card.

I was frustrated back in the day because I couldn't get the 200 plus issues of the comic I was reading. If there was a top guy you couldn't get any other way, then yes, but for the job guys, I'm not feeling the same.

I have the con cards as well, but wouldn’t you be frustrated if you just started playing today and found out you couldn’t get all of the cards because you missed a convention? That’s how it was with me and Boomer Hatfield. Took me something like eighteen months to acquire his card, and once I did, I felt like I had accomplished something. Ditto for Andrew Palace and the one Video Cameraman card, whose name I regrettably forget at the moment. Was it frustrating? A little. But it didn’t really bother me because I knew eventually I would acquire one. It just might take some time and energy. I mean, if you want to make the argument that every card should be available to every person, you have to make color Roddy Piper available online, right? I only use online cards, so sure—I can get him by buying the set. Again. In physical form, this time. But even then, it won’t help me use him online unless I purchase some Create-a-Character cards. And even then, I won’t have his artwork, which is honestly a big issue for me and why I don’t have any Create-a-Character cards to begin with. Is that frustrating? Maybe a little, but that’s the way things go sometimes. Maybe every person doesn’t need to have everything just because. If not having a Frogman LeBlanc card ruins one’s enjoyment of the game, maybe the problem isn’t really the scarcity of the Frogman card.
