I caved in as well. Price is way too much but I'm interested in seeing what goes down. The main reason I bought it, besides the Punk debut, is because B/R just got an app on Roku so I can watch it on my television. I'm also hoping to see the Lucha Brothers dethrone the Young Bucks but we shall see. Looks like it could be a solid event.

My plane got delayed in Chicago for refueling but I made it home just on time for the start of this PPV (although I did miss the Preshow.)

Man, did Darby Allin and CM Punk deliver or what!?! I didn't expect this to be a bad match by any means but that was a classic! There were definitely some big spots but they weren't what made the match. There's a lot of wrestlers on the roster here and in WWE that could take some notes.

The only people I could see crap on Punk's match are those that think YB/LB is the standard. I loved the pace of the Punk/Darby match so much. |

The only people I could see crap on Punk's match are those that think YB/LB is the standard. I loved the pace of the Punk/Darby match so much. I find the majority of the YB/LB type matches to be WAY too fast. And it's not that the wrestlers themselves are moving fast, it's that they bounce from move to move to move so fast that none of them have any time to sell or give the impact of those moves any meaning. And on top of that, far too many of their superkicks, spin kicks, etc. look really weak. They just don't look like they connect or have much behind them. On the flip side, SO many of the moves delivered between Darby & Punk looked like killer blows. Even those simple elbows Darby hit Punk with when Punk was going for the G2S looked like KO shots. And Punk sold them like he was about to go out. So good. |

It was an interested PPV … I will not comment on YB/LB except for right team won. Jericho/MJF felt sloppy but more on rules side of things, didn’t the match start off no DQ? Why is the ref stopping MJf from biting Jericho or allowing a ropes break it’s no DQ? I’ve warmed up to Omega but the match was okay.
Loved the Punk match and the women’s battle Royal. I think AEW has the pieces to beat the E but there still a little rough. Otherwise I had fun, only thing I didn’t like one person showing up and then becoming a second in command after years of being a leader, it was a real shock to the system. But otherwise fun, still better than most WWE …
