One thing that 100% halted AEW's momentum was how the AEW career of CM Punk played out. CM Punk came in super hot and some members of the roster became jealous (you can't convince me otherwise) and stories about CM Punk kept coming out week in and week out. Then the Brawl Out happened. If that didn't happen and if CM Punk didn't get hurt while winning the World Championship (both times) AEW would be in a much better position today than it currently is. After the Brawl out happened Tony Khan should have forced all parties involved to sit down day one of CM Punks return and hash out all of their differences, but Tony Khan let the Young Bucks blow things off until the All In show while other people on the roster kept needling Punk looking for a reaction out of him and we all know how that played out. If AEW still had CM Punk and added Adam Copeland to the roster it would be a much bigger deal than it currently is. Right now Tony Khan needs to focus on resigning as many of his homegrown talents (MJF, Ricky Starks, Wardlow, etc) before WWE starts sniffing around near the end of their contracts. Losing talents like those will be comparable to WCW letting Jericho, Paul Wight, Eddie Guererro, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn and he who shall not be named walk out the door to WWF while keeping the aging former WWF stars like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage at the top of the card. I think this is 100% accurate. I really liked collision and how it was structured but I haven't watched since Punk left. And honestly I don't think I will after what happened with Stevie Richard's (he posted a video about how the whole mox injury was unsafe and wrong moves were made). I think someone will get seriously hurt sooner rather than later, and at this point they have kind of desensitized the big moves. Terry funk piledrove Flair on a table and we all thought Flair was never gonna wrestle again. Now people get piledrived on explosives on shards of glass and they kick out.

While I agree on almost everything you say, the shit AEW does that "isn't safe" has been happening everywhere since Funk piledrove Flair.

While I do enjoy the wrestling on AEW, I feel TK's booking sucks. He's all over the place. It hurts the overall product.
I feel both companies are now formulaic in their own approach. But, if it was a perfect world, I'd prefer WWE's characters and AEW's wrestling.

I think FTR is signed with AEW until 2027. It sounds like Cash Wheeler is injured and the reason why they dropped the AEW tag team titles tonight on Collision.

Doesn’t NXT and AEW go head to head with each other next Tuesday? I saw that NXT is bringing in John Cena, Paul Heyman, and (I think?) Cody Rhodes for next week’s show. Oh man. That will be interesting.

Same thing happened to TNA/Impact when they decided to go live on Mondays with the arrival of Hulk Hogan and all of that. Granted it was not wise to go up against Raw, but Vince decided that was a good time to bring Bret Hart back. I guess in a way it could be said that "competition" for WWE is good if for no other reason than it makes them pull out all the stops to win the ratings war.

I don't think the Edge fever will last long. Yeah, it will be exciting for a couple weeks, but seriously dude, what is there left for you to do? You should've been putting over young talent in WWE but they had you win damn near every feud since your return. Now what? Go home and count your money already, LOL. To me he is just tarnishing his legacy. But like so many others, they just can't get rid of the wrestling bug.

To me he is just tarnishing his legacy. But like so many others, they just can't get rid of the wrestling bug. Sadly wrestling is all they know and there are few opportunities to transition like in other sports. Football, baseball and other players can go into broadcasting or coaching with so many different levels to get into. Pro Wrestling has those opportunities but far, far less than other sports. Plus, I am not sure how much promotions work on helping their talent make that transition from their playing days to their next career. In other sports they try and help some and I believe there are even programs players can get involved in during their playing days. I also wonder how well wrestlers plan for their futures financially. We have seen players in other sports do not always do a good job of that and with no pension for wrestlers like you see for pro athletes that makes it hard to get by later in life. That being said, yea Edge will probably get old fast. A few dream matches and that is about it. Maybe Tony can create a senior division in AEW for guys like Edge, Jericho, Matt Hardy and others. If he does, he better sign Mark Jackson.
