More unplanned cards just means more money spent on art, printing, card stock etc…and more time working through the holidays which Im sure the FG crew is done doing for the year. Everybody is either on vacation or going there soon too soooo……
I say give everybody a break. They deserve a couple of days off too.

I'm always happy for more FG product. I don't mind that the RC companion might take a little longer, like others have said - we've waited this long, I can hold out a little longer. I doubt any NEW cards could accompany it due to lead time, art, stats/research, etc would take, but if FG is looking to offset the cost of shipping, I'm happy to buy a special two-pack of existing cards they are trying to get rid of...maybe some B&W cards for LOW??? I own ever color set/card, but I'd buy them again as well if needed. To be clear, I'm not saying this should be done, I'm just saying if FG went this direction or needed to, I would happily support it.

Respect for trying to make the most complete volume possible. But you know what else is cool? MAKING SURE SOMETHING IS READY FOR PRINT BEFORE TAKING MONEY FOR IT! I mean, it's only been in development for over a decade and two or three people have tapped out on trying to produce it already, but the crew can be expected to throw it together in a couple of weeks so people aren't disappointed that "Black Friday sale" means you'll get it before NEXT Christmans, right? (watch someone get all serious about this now and hit me with the indignant replies)

The way I see it (not that anyone cares) is this: software companies promise new games, and their release date gets pushed back, and pushed back, and pushed back, and people lose their minds. Then, caving to public pressure and bad press, they put out the project before it's completely done and needs to be patched or offer lots of DLC, and guess what...people lose their minds.
It's like a lose-lose situation for the Filsinger Games crew. I think if they are going to irritate some people either way, better to err on the side of putting out a better product.
This isn't to say that I don't hold onto other bugaboos, like Online being released only when people get it in print. But they are updating the situation with us regularly and being very forthright about it. (Which is more than some Kickstarter project managers do...and people pay a LOT more for some of those products. Well ahead of time, I might add.)
My two cents: let's give them a pass on this one.

My two cents: let's give them a pass on this one. ...... Devil's advocate time here. When you offer something as a "black Friday" release there's an expectation of when that should be made available: before December 25th. This isn't a video game that takes years to develop. The turnaround time is MUCH less and there are FAR fewer copies to produce. You start the process in September or October and have it ready to print for release the first week of December and problem solved. This is also not some Kickstarter startup, it's a game that's been going since the 1980s, so it's not like there are kinks to work out here. I generally don't preorder anymore, but I did with the cards this time. Was going to wait for the book but it got ordered for me. It's whatever to me, but I'm not going to dismiss the voices of the people who are rightfully frustrated. They gave their money with the expectation of getting what they paid for in a timely fashion. TRUST ME, I know a few people who are not on these boards who are frustrated and I am the one who gets the texts, DMs, and messages about it. So I am coming here to share. Sharing is caring and all that.

I understand your frustration, and that of your non-line peers. I didn't mean to come across as saying you don't have a right to feel the way you need to feel, and I apologize if I did. As I said, there are still bugaboos about the way things are released (for online, generally); this just isn't one of them for me, and I would encourage other Promoters who are on the fence about the issue to think about it that way.
I understand what you're saying about a "Black Friday" sale. Delivery before Christmas is not an expectation I have for things of that nature, but I can certainly understand your perspective on it.
I do realize that this is a smaller product with a smaller fan base, but it also a smaller team of "staff" working at it, presumably as part-timers. So like I said, I give them a pass.
But if you disagree, that's totally cool; no argument from me. And I'm glad you have this forum to share your experiences, and those of your friends. I hope no one gets crappy with you about it, because that's not the spirit of the board, nor of the game.

I can't believe people are actually "upset" by this. I dont recall a hard and fast ship date ever being promised. Better late than inaccurate.

(watch someone get all serious about this now and hit me with the indignant replies) "Emperor Norton" (Mark T): Ok, I'll bite. When you preorder anything you run the risk of production delays. There was something I ordered for my wife for Christmas way back in early October, the production date was pushed back to November, and then again until the beginning of December. I had to go a different route, if the item had not arrived two weekends ago, as in printing out a picture of the item with a note and wrapping that. Thankfully, I didn't need to do that. All I am saying is countless things take money for preorders, and production delays just happen, which is completely out of their control. Your payment reserves your item when it is ready. If you want to receive it immediately, I guess maybe don't order until the item is released. Again, I'm OK waiting, as we have tons of ringside companions already, and there is enough stuff for me to use in my other feds to tide me over until the Ringside Companion arrives.
