What's the top three greatest / most dramatic sports moments you've witnessed in real time, not replay? Christian Laettner's shot would make my list if it was against ANYONE else other than my Wildcats. That's a PAINFUL memory I can NEVER forget, no matter how hard I try. Not to mention, they replay it EVERY March!!! I'd like to hear EVERYONES memories, but I really want Chad Olson, Cory Olson, TDalton and stu thoughts on this on Uncharted.

I can gladly share on an episode of UT at some point KB, good question. I didn't witness the USA-USSR game live, during the Miracle on Ice, although I did watch other games during that Olympics...but I do have a very cool story about that USA-USSR game I will share at some point on UT. It's still my favorite overall sports story during my lifetime...we may never see that again (i.e., total amateurs defeating, essentially, pros).
There are a lot to choose from, could be fun!

I guess 'technically' none of us not there in Lake Placid saw it live, because it was on tape delay if I recall correctly. Though I did watch it when aired that day.

Scott Norwood's miss in Super Bowl XXV. Christian Laettner's shot that knocks off Kentucky. 1994 Orange Bowl...latest I think I ever stayed up watching a game.

I watched all of those moments, didn't think Team USA was going to win that, whew! Great list, BTW! Here's some I'd add to the list: Heartbreak in Boston! And the Bambino Curse goes on... ...but not forever! I'm not a baseball fan, but this here is HISTORY: And my all-time favorite playoff game for the Chargers (beating out the Epic in Miami only because the Chargers got to go to the Super Bowl with this win) -- And I'd add Ron Garvin's win over Flair for the Belt in '87 which was the FIRST TIME one of my all-time fave wrestlers ever won the Heavyweight Belt, but that was tape delay... Great Topic!!!!
#3: (And it thoroughly agonized me as a kid...) Reggie hitting 3 Homeruns in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series. It was spectacular in the most wrong way for a kid who lives and bleeds Dodger Blue!
#2. Cal Ripkin, Jr. breaking Lou Gehrig's Iron Man Record. Growing up I was going to be the one to break the record; I never missed school and NEVER missed a game for any team I played on...seeing Cal jog around the park, I was glued to the scene.
Drumroll please!!!!!
#1. Game #1, 1988 World Series Kirk Gibson comes off the bench and hits the Walk Off HOMERUN vs. the A's.
I am sure some of you won't believe this...I was at this game (still have my ticket stub, program, and the wrapper from the bag of peanuts that I ate). My best friend and I were in left field pavilion...I spent ever dime from my paycheck to get the ticket and it was worth every cent! The older couple we sat next to left the game in the 7th inning (as many L.A. fans do to "beat the traffic" out of the parking lot) and I remember tell the gentleman that he should not leave because he was going to regret it. He replied, "I hope I do"...I often wonder how they felt knowing they left one of the greatest moments in baseball history.

WOW! You was actually there, that's awesome.
Gibson was hurt, his knees were shot, and didn't even dress for the game and... was in the clubhouse most of the game.
ICONIC moment!!!... and it pains me to say, because I DISLIKE the Yankees of the west coast.

I have actually been to the arena where the game took place. When I was stationed in Plattsburgh, NY back in the 90s we were about 90 minutes away and went there a couple of times.

I saw Nolan Ryan walk right by me as headed into Angel Stadium for his last time pitching there. We were in the nose bleeds above home plate. The place was cheering like crazy Everytime he pitched the ball.
1978 all star game. Saw Dave Parker throw a dart to throw out hometown hero Brian Downing. I wonder every day where the heck my pennant went from that day.
Saw the first ever practice of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. I worked for Disney at the time and they let us in for some reason. Only thing I remember was how fast Sweeney was.
Not as great as some of you guys but I've been to at least five no hitters broken up in the eight or ninth inning. Never have had the luck to see one completed live. But I'm hopeful.
