Greetings! After a fair amount of lurking on these boards, I've decided to throw my hat into the LOW fed world.

Play Style:
I let the dice call the matches, and build feuds/stories from the results- I actually love the reactionary method that lets me be both the promoter and a fan of what's going on in my own little universe. So, basically, its a shoot that I'll hopefully structure so you won't know its a shoot.

Promotion History:
West Coast Pro Wrestling is intended to exist broadly in a fictitious late 70's-early/mid 80's world without an overarching "NWA" commission. Regions mainly crown their own champions, and talent tends to work multiple promotions with a certain degree of freedom. The intention is that the promotion should feel like a territory but without the restrictions of only using wrestlers from a certain era who wrestled in a certain place. We'll be mostly sticking to real life alliances/feuds but without feeling that real life events are hard and fast rules. WCPW tours up and down the western United States, with occasional cross promotional shows in Mexico and Canada.

Roster:
The roster will break down into two groups, the main roster and rotating "guests." The main roster will be the focus of most cards/angles, with rotating guests coming into town for specific matches or short term angles. Over time, the main roster is likely to add/remove people as needed.

West Coast Pro Wrestling sent out a press release this evening announcing a one night tournament at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California. The First round matchups are as follows:

Stan Hansen vs Big Van Vader
Randy Savage vs "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Bruiser Brody vs Nick Bockwinkle (special guest)
Ted Dibiase vs Harly Race

Card #1: A Tournament for a Champion

Nov. 11th at the Cow Palace in Daly City, CA

The show opens with Gordon Solie coming out to announce to the crowd that the tournament will decide the inaugural WCPW World Heavyweight Champion.  All matches will be one fall, no time limit, with disqualifications resulting in removal of the tournament.  Solie then exits the ring as the first match gets set to begin...

Round 1 Match: Stan Hansen vs Big Van Vader

A brutally physical match to kick things off, with both men going to their big offensive moves early with little strategy mixed in.  This one was always going to be about who landed the biggest move first, and it ended up being Hansen, putting the big masked man down with a thunderous Borger Slam.

Winner: Stan Hansen

Round 1 Match: Randy Savage vs Roddy Piper

Piper took control of this one early, but Savage never seemed to be in too much danger, and eventually he was able to hit an axe handle to the floor, roll Piper into the ring, and hit his patented Savage Elbow from the top rope for the victory.

Winner: Randy Savage

Round 1 Match: Bruiser Brody vs Nick Bockwinkle

This was the most surprising match of the first round.  Bockwinkle, a special guest for the tournament, was overwhelmed from the start- with Brody jumping all over him early and never letting up.  Bockwinkle looked to be out cold after Brody nailed him with his finishing knee drop for the win.

Winner: Bruiser Brody

Round 1: Ted Dibiase vs Harley Race

Race controlled the majority of this match from the start, but he seemed to lose his cool at some point, throwing DiBiase out of the ring and slamming him on the ring announcer table.  When the referee came over to clean things up, Race threw the official to the ground, grabbed a chair, and nailed DiBiase in the back.  The ref had no choice but to disqualify Race and end the match.

Winner (via DQ): Ted DiBiase

After the first round of matches had concluded, Gordon Solie came back out to announce the next show would be at the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, tickets are still available...

Semi-Final Match: Stan Hansen vs Randy Savage

A competitive back and forth match as a contrast of styles played out, Hansen's brawling vs Macho Man's speed and agility.  Savage seemed to be building momentum to finish Hansen off, who seemed to be getting winded from the increased pace of the match, when out of nowhere Hansen rolled up Savage and got the pinfall- earning a spot in the finals.

Winner: Stan Hansen

Semi-Final Match: Bruiser Brody vs Ted DiBiase

Dibiase never really stood a chance in this one- still obviously feeling the effects from the Harley Race chair shot, and Brody fresh from a short first round match- this one seemed pre-decided... except everyone forgot to tell DiBiase.  The man would not stay down, and got Brody agonizingly close to passing out from the cobra clutch... but Brody managed to hold on, and hit the big knee drop to punch his own ticket to the finals.

Winner: Bruiser Brody

A short intermission where upcoming Cow Palace events were advertised including a rodeo, the circus, and a trade show, before the main event could get under way.

MAIN EVENT: Tournament Finals- Stan Hansen vs Bruiser Brody

Hansen started off hot on offense, but Brody countered- seemingly controlling the match as Hansen's endurance after two matches seemed to be wavering.  Brody easily turned away a Hansen comeback, threw Hansen into the turnbuckle where it looked like he would set up Hansen for the end of his night and be crowned the World Champ.  Except it never happened, for the second time in as many matches, the big Texan surprised the building with a quick roll up for the pin fall

Winner AAAAAAND NEEEEEEEW CHAMPION- Stan Hansen

After the match, Brody tore apart the ring area- tossing chairs and tables, with crew members clearing the area to avoid his anger.  After he finally stormed out, Gordon Solie came out with the belt- Hansen raised it up to the crowd and celebrated to the back.

Card #2: House Show
Nov. 15th at the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA

The show opens with Gordon Solie coming out to announce to the crowd the card for tonights show, with a main event match scheduled to be Harley Race vs Ray Stevens

The Fantastics vs The British Bulldogs

An exciting opener that saw a lot of back and forth action before the Fantastics managed to isolate Dynamite Kid from his partner, wear him down and nail the Rocket Launcher for the pin.  After the match both sides continued jawing with each other and needed officials to come in and break things up.

Winner: The Fantastics


Dan Severn (special guest) vs "Dr. Death" Steve Williams
A highly anticipated match between Severn, a man with high combat credentials both inside and outside of wrestling, vs a powerhouse former professional football player.  The match played out how you'd expect early on, with Severn trying to counter Dr Death's power with technical counters.  After a bit of back and forth Dr Death found his range and started rag dolling Severn, eventually throwing him outside the ring.  In his aggression, he lost track of the 10 count and both men ended up counted out.  After the match, Dr Death would proceed to give Severn a powerbomb to the concrete floor, forcing him to be stretchered out of the building...

Winner: Double DQ

Gordon Solie came back out to ringside to announce that on Thanksgiving Day WCPW would have a special live show, with the World Title on the line.  The show would take place at The Forum in Los Angeles- tickets where going on sale later this week, with the full card being revealed at the following house show.

Curt Hennig vs Magnum TA
A back and forth match that saw both men look like they were going to take advantage before the other man countered and pushed the offense for their side.  Magnum looked to have the advantage with several near falls before Hennig was able to quickly counter into a Hennig Plex for the surprising pin fall.

Winner: Curt Hennig


Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering vs Rock N Roll Express
R/R Express came out red hot in this one, surprising the Road Warriors and dictating the pace early on.  The speed of the match seemed to bother the Road Warriors early, and cancelled out the obvious power advantage the team enjoys in most matches.  Unfortunately for the Rockers, they made one slip- and Ricky Morton ran right into a powerslam before eating not one, but two Doomsday Devices for the pin fall.

Winner: Road Warriors

The ring announcer came out to announce that West Coast Pro Wrestling's next stop would be in Fresno California at the Selland Area THIS THURSDAY.  Tickets were still available, and the main event would be a #1 Contenders match, with the winner of the main event facing Bruiser Brody!

MAIN EVENT: Harley Race vs Ray Stevens

Stevens came out hot early, and it looked like the native San Franciscan would be able to grab a title shot in his hometown.  But Race was able to slowly, and methodically bring the pace down to his level- keeping the match on the mat and preventing Stevens from getting any kind of rhythm.  It seemed like Harley Race had the match where he wanted it, before Stevens left the ring to catch his breath, and Race followed and started a brawl.  The ref came over to break it up, when- in an identical move to his tournament match- Race threw down the ref and went looking for a chair.  Luckily for Stevens, the ref called for the bell before he could find one, and announced the winner to be Ray Stevens.

The crowd, seeing their main event end in a DQ reigned boos down as Harley Race smiled pointed at Stevens, and then left as Ray stood in the middle of the ring frustrated by the ending.

Winner: Ray Stevens (via DQ)

Card #3: House Show
Nov. 18th at the Selland Arena in Fresno, CA

The show opens with Gordon Solie coming out to announce to the crowd the card for tonight's show, including a #1 contender match and a special tag team main event involving the World Champ, Stan Hansen.

Randy Savage vs Koko B Ware

A one sided match to kick off the show, with Savage controlling bell to bell, and quickly putting Koko away with a Savage Elbow Drop.

Winner: Randy Savage


SPECIAL GUEST MATCH: The Quebecers vs The New Age Outlaws

A special showcase match from Vancouver based promotion True North Wrestling, with the Quebecers taking on The New Age Outlaws.  The Outlaws took control early on, isolating Pierre Ouellet from his corner and making frequent tags to keep the advantage.  But once the hot tag came in, the tables shifted and a Tower of Quebec was enough to end the match in favor of The Quebecers.  Rumors in the arena were that this would be enough for them to challenge the True North Tag Team Champions, the Hart Foundation, later this month.

Winner: The Quebecers

Gordon Solie comes back out to the ring to announce the signing of PAT PATTERSON!  With this, Solie also announces that the BLONDE BOMBERS will come together for at least one night, at next Monday's house show in Los Angeles California- tickets on sale now!

Harley Race vs Bob Backland (Special Guest)

Harley Race was vicious in this match, playing the aggressor and giving it to Backland, who refused to quit and continued to make comebacks.  An all to familiar scene presented itself as Race, frustrated with how the match was going, threw Backland out of the ring and onto the floor.  This, the site of two straight DQ finishes, seemed destined for a third when out back came BOBBY HEENAN- who approached Race, spoke in his ear, and shook his hand.  Race then threw Backland back into the ring and nailed him with a piledriver for the pin fall.

After the match, both Heenan and Race left the ring without celebrating, engaging in a conversation all the way to the back.

Winner: Harley Race


#1 Contender Match: Bruiser Brody vs Ray Stevens

A hellova match with a contrast in styles dictating the pace and flow.  Brody worked to cut of the ring and brawl, while the smaller Stevens used his quickness to open things up and keep the pace high.  Stevens strategy seemed to be winning- keeping Brody off balance and getting him in trouble.  When Stevens nailed the Bombs Away the crowd went nuts, but Brody kicked out, and when Stevens hit the ropes to try and put the big man down for good, Brody countered with a flying cross body out of nowhere that put Stevens down for the count.

After the match Brody grabbed the mic and called out Hansen, saying he'd see him in LA.

Winner: Bruiser Brody

The PA announcer let the crowd know that next Monday will be at the famed Olympic Auditorium before Thursday's Supercard in The Forum.  The Main event will be for the World Heavyweight Title, with the Co-Main Event featuring ANDRE THE GIANT!!!

MAIN EVENT: Ted DiBiase/Stan Hansen vs Tully Blanchard/Barry Windham

A star studded main event got personal real quick with Tully and Windham using dirty tactics to keep Hansen and his big lariat out of the ring as much as possible.  DiBiase fought back though, with the crowd erupting  when Hansen finally entered and cleaned house, blowing throw both members of the opposing team.  The stage was set for Hansen to blast Tully with a match ending lariat when Tully slipped outside, and Barry Windham took a chair to DiBiase's back, forcing the referee to call for the bell.

Before Hansen could get out of the ring both men high tailed it to the back- leaving the champ in the ring to call for both men to return and fight.  Through the crowd, came JJ DILLON who slipped into the ring read to cheap shot Hansen.  But Hansen sniffed it out, avoided the shot and gave Dillon a lariat that literally took his shoes off, sending the crowd home happy.

Winner: Hansen/DiBiase (via DQ)

Card #4: House Show
Nov. 22nd at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA

Gordon Solie opened the show announcing the matches, and letting the crowd know that he would have interviews with “Dr. Death” Steve Williams and Bobby Heenan. He then said the tag matches tonight would both be vying for a spot on the Thanksgiving Day card with a win. He also announced that Andre’s opponent has been decided- KING KONG BUNDY! He closed out to say the show would end with him moderating a face to face between champion and challenger as Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody would be in the ring for the first time together since their tournament finals match.


The Blonde Bombers vs The Midnight Express (W/Jim Cornette)
This match was littered with interference from the Midnight Express’ manager Jim Cornette- preventing pin falls and distracting the official all match. The underhanded tactics paid off, with Bobby Eaton eventually getting the win with an assisted abdominal stretch on Pat Patterson.

Winner: Midnight Express


Gordon Solie came back out to the ring to interview Steve Williams. Dr Death said he felt no regret injuring Dan Severn, and that there wasn’t anyone in the back that was brave enough to face him. BIG VAN VADER came out from the locker room and answered the challenge, with a match made right there for the Thanksgiving Day show at the LA Forum.


Curt Hennig vs Roddy Piper
Hennig took early control of the match, but it was very short lived. Roddy Piper quickly reversed and locked in a shocking sleeper out of nowhere to put the match away in under 5 minutes.

Winner: Roddy Piper


Road Warriors (w/Paul Ellering) vs The Fantastics
Another quick, one sided thumping. The Fantastics never really got any offense going and the the Road Warriors put it away early with a Doomsday device.

Winner: Road Warriors


Gordon Solie is back in the ring with Bobby Heenan and Harley Race. Bobby does most of the talking, announcing that with him in Race’s corner, you’re looking at the future world champion- and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it from happening.


Ted DiBiase vs Barry Windham w/JJ Dillon & Tully Blanchard
Another shockingly quick match. After some early work, JJ Dillion gets on the ropes to distract Dibiase, who doesn’t fall for it and locks in the Cobra clutch on an unsuspecting Tully Blanchard. With the hold still sunk in, DiBiase knocks Dillon off the apron, then sinks it in deeper till Windham passes out.

After the bell Tully jumps into the ring and DiBiase fights him off too. ARN ANDERSON sneaks in through the crowd and jumps DiBiase from behind, turning the fight into a three on one. Officials come down to the ring to break it up, but the damage is done.

Winner: Ted DiBiase


As Gordon Solie comes out to moderate the main event, DiBiase is getting helped out, but stops and grabs the mic. He challenges Tully and Arn to a tag match- claiming he’ll bring a mystery partner to even the odds!

Champ Stan Hansen and challenger Bruiser Brody make their way to the ring, and both stand opposite of Solie as he asks both questions. Brody says neither of them are built for a normal championship match. They’re both from Texas, how about they bring a little of that to the match on Thursday. Brody challenges Hansen to a Texas Deathmatch! Hansen accepts, and the two men shake in a sign of respect.



As the show ends, the PA announcer reveals the car for the THANKSGIVING DAY SHOW which will take place LIVE at the sold out LA FORUM:
