4/14/81 Toronto, ON - card #63
Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" plays as we get our opening video. Then we are live.
Gorilla Typhoon: Welcome to Toronto and The Show.
KC: We have a great card tonight, Gorilla. Chet Skye will be in singles action as he has split from his tag partner and is striking out on his own. Also, the Road Demolition will face the former World Tag Team Champions, The Thrashers. Let's get to the hot action with our opening match.
Chet Skye vs Bug Buster.
Buster started in control early on. The Chet got his offense going. He hit a superkick and made a cover for a two count. Then Bug Buster got the momentum back for himself. After a bit of back-and-forth Buster started to roll and he finished the youngster off with a Zap Trap.
Winner: Bug Buster via pinfall. (***)
We see The Six Million Pound Man, Sir Vincent Hendrix and a man in a sweat suit standing on a small stage to the side of the main stage.
The Six Million Pound Man: I found this poor slob working in the back, moving boxes and sweeping. I looked for his price tag and I found it. I offered him 100 Pounds if he could do just ten pushups. Are you ready Joe?
Man: Um, my name is Chris not Joe but yes, I am ready.
The Six Million Pound Man: I don't care what your name is. You are American. You are all Joe to me. Now, get down and do ten pushups.
The man gets down on the stage and starts to do pushups. When he gets to eight, The Six Million Pound Man nods at Sir Vincent Hendrix. The man does the ninth pushup and Sir Vincent Hendrix puts a foot on the upper back of the man. The man cannot push up with the foot on his back.
The Six Million Pound Man: Come on Joe, you are just one pushup from 100 Pounds. One measly pushup.
As hard as the man tries, he cannot push up. He gives up and lays out flat as The Six Million Pound man laughs. Sir Vincent Hendrix then jumps up and delivers a leg drop to the back of the man. He gets up and lifts the man up for a chokeslam that lays the man out on the stage. Next Sir Vincent Hendrix pulls out a couple coins, 10 pence pieces, and places them on the man's eyes. The Six Million Pound Man walks off with Sir Vincent Hendrix following behind him.
--- commercials including trailers for a couple summer blockbuster movies including Superman II and Arthur ---
In a locker room in the back The Gargoyle and Gothica are talking on one side of the room while Skullgore and Keith Blood are talking on the other side. In the middle of the ring is an emotionless Slashmaster.
Dark Invader vs Mighty Leo.
This match was between two former USA Champions. It was expected to be a really good match. It ended up being a really short match. It did not take long for Mighty Leo to hit a flying pounce and roll Dark Invader up. It was over in less than a minute.
Winner: Mighty Leo by pinfall. (*)
--- commercials including for a sale on burgers at Burger Chef ---
The Tag Team Champions, Pierre the Enormous and Star Boy, come down and join Gorilla Typhoon and KC to watch the main event.
Road Demolition vs The Thrashers.
The former Tag Champs are in the ring when War Pigs starts playing. Road Demolition runs down to the ring and goes wild on The Thrashers. The ref tries to restore order. Road Demolition toss Cesar Sleaze out of the ring than Aximal goes to his team's corner. Hawsh begins with Dizzy Lixx and pounds on him for a short bit then tags Aximal. They perform their Destruction Device finisher and Aximal covered for the three. A quick and impressive win for Road Demolition.
Winner: Road Demolition via pinfall.
Road Demolition look over at the announcer's table and make the belt gesture around their waist. They are making the champs know they want a title shot.

4/21/81 Detroit, MI - card #64
Gorilla Typhoon: Welcome to the Motor City and The Show. We have Hammerhead, Pumpkin Patch Kids and Lazer in action tonight. So, stay tuned and enjoy The Show.
--- Commercials including for Boblo Island which opens next month for the season ---
Danger Zone vs Hammerhead.
When he came down to the ring Danger Zone stopped and took off his aviator sunglasses and put them on a kid that is ringside. Once the match started, he tried to overpower Hammerhead which was a mistake. Hammerhead went on the attack and never gave Danger Zone the chance to get back in the match. Soviet Sledge ended the match.
Winner: Hammerhead by pinfall. (*)
After the match Hammerhead tried getting a U S S R chant going but all he got from the crowd was a U S A chant.
Mean Jeans: Just a bit over two months from our next PPV, Summer Blast at the Beach. If you want to know where it will be held call the RCW Hotline. That is 1-999-THE-SHOW. Kids get your parent's approval before calling.
--- commercials including for season finals of shows next month ---
A promo from Road Demolition. They say it is time they got their title shot at the World Tag Team Championship. Pierre and Star Boy just need to let them know when they want the match to happen.
The All Americans Tag Team w/Valley Girl vs Pumpkin Patch Kids w/Princess Starbright.
The Kids used frequent tags and double team moves to keep The All Americans off their game. Valley Girl was no help as she seemed mesmerized by Princess Starbright. Hallowicked hit Never Wake Up on Dasher Hatfield and made the pin.
Winner: Pumpkin Patch Kids via pinfall. (*)
--- commercials including for The Show coming to Racine WI, Chicago IL and Iowa CIty IA so make sure to get your tickets ---
We see The Six Million Pound Man and Lord Vincent Hendrix on the mini stage next to the main stage along with 3 little kids.
The Six Million Pound Man: OK kids, if you want to make 50 Pounds each do some jumping jacks. Get to it kids.
As the kids are doing jumping jacks Vincent counts.
The Six Million Pound Man: Now, all you need to do to earn that hard cash is recite the Odyssey in Greek.
The kids look confused. When Vincent asks if they can recite the Odyssey in Greek, they shake their heads, and one says no.
The Six Million Pound Man: That is the problem with brats here in the US. No education. A simple thing and you could not do it. So, no money for you. Get rid of these brats before they get snot on me.
Lord Vincent Hendrix ushers the kids off the stage.
The Six Million Pound Man: As I have said before, everyone has a price tag. What's yours?
Lazer vs Mad Arab w/The Thinker.
Lazer uses his agility advantage to outperform Mad Arab. He hits a spinning backbreaker that takes the wind out of Mad Arab's sails. Lazer pins him before The Thinker can react.
Winner: Lazer by pinfall. (*)
After the match Lazer makes the belt gesture around his waist as he looks down at The Thinker who shakes his head and a finger at Lazer.

Hey brother on_the_edge! Although I was so stoked to see Pierre The Enormous & Star Boy win the tag titles, I'm starting to think that they are just transitional champs (although I hope I'm wrong). But Road Demolition seems to be destined to eventually hold the belts. And if they do, then may be holding onto the tag belts for a while. Was hoping the Dudester would retain but am not suprised that Jet Set is now a two time World Champion. Electric Boogaloo - was awesome. Awesome and appropriate name and great event. I don't know how you do it - amazing stuff. The 80's a land/universe where anything is possible!

Knowing people like you are getting enjoyment from my postings keeps me chugging along. However, right now my 80's mojo is a bit low so I need to take time to refocus and come up with more 80's cheesy campy fun. Thanks for tuning in.

4/28/81 Racine, WI - card #65
Gorilla Typhoon: Welcome to Racine and The Show. We have a rematch between Mighty Leo and Dark Invader among our great action.
KC: Let's go to the ring and get The Show rolling.
Beauty Salon vs Red Pirate Rogers and Bug Buster.
The Beauty Salon came down and T.A. Templeton had a hand fan and was waving it as his face. Jobber Joe asked if he wanted to start then Templeton waved him off with his other hand. Jobber Joe started with Bug Buster and in a surprise, Joe was rolling. He made a couple pin attempts but Buster kicked out. Templeton called Joe over for the tag. He came in and T.A. kept the pressure on. He hit his finisher No Pity but Buster kicked out after that as well. Templeton stood up and ran a hand over his forehead. He noticed he was starting to sweat so he tagged Joe back in. As Joe went to work on Buster, T.A. grabbed his fan and fanned himself. Joe made a hot tag and Red Pirate Rogers came in and lit up Jobber Joe. Rogers hit Swashbuckler and got the three count.
Winner: Red Pirate Rogers and Bug Buster by pinfall. (**)
--- commercials including for the brand-new RCW Gift Catalog that you can have sent to your home ---
Gorilla Typhoon: Did you see that catalog KC? It is full of some really cool things.
KC: Yes, I did Gorilla. Being a major movie star, I was given a sneak peek of it. They have T-shirts, wristbands, backpacks and other cool stuff.
Gorilla Typhoon: Just imagine what great items they might have in the future. Action figures, beach towels, ice cream sandwiches, hats...I mean the possibilities are endless. Only fans on the catalog mailing list will know first.
KC: Ice cream sandwiches? No one is going to want ice cream sandwiches with wrestlers faces on it. You are nuts.
Gorilla Typhoon: Give me a break.
Mighty Leo vs Dark Invader.
Invader wanted this rematch after losing so quickly to Leo in a recent match. Early on it looked like this would be a repeat as Leo was all over Invader and made a couple pin attempts. Then Invader got mad and came roaring back. He hit The Corruptor finisher and got a two count. He did it again and another two. Invader got in the ref's face and yelled that it was three. Big mistake as he turned around into a Giant Paw Swipe. Mighty Leo tore into Dark Invader and won with Thunderstrike.
Winner: Mighty Leo via pinfall. (****)
--- commercials ---
Lazer and Mean Jeans are standing in the ring.
Mean Jeans: Lazer you asked for this time because you had something to get off your chest. What is it?
Lazer: Well Mean Jeans, at Wrestle Bowl II we got a new World Champion, Jet Set Strutter. But since winning that title he has not talked about who his first challenger will be for that title. So, I am throwing my hat in the ring so to speak. I want a title match with Jet Set. I tried to pass that message on to The Stinker, er I mean The Thinker last week but he ignored me. So, I am issuing the challenge here and now in front of everybody. Jet Set, I want you in the ring. I too want to be a two-time World Champion. Step up hot shot. (He lets out a loud scream and the fans go wild).
Warhawk vs Hammerhead.
This was a shockingly quick match. Hammerhead stunned Warhawk with an overhand right. He waited for Warhawk to get to his feet and he finished him off with a Soviet Sledge.
Winner: Hammerhead by pinfall. (*)
Hammerhead headed up the ramp chanting U S S R as fans booed. Warhawk took a while to recover and shake the cobwebs out of his head. Then he left the ring and up the ramp trying to return to the locker room. That is when Slashmaster came out and attacked him. Slashmaster was throwing haymakers then kicked Warhawk in the gut. He dragged Warhawk to the stage and after hitting a Hatchet Chop, he waited for Warhawk to get to his feet. Refs came out and tried to get Slashmaster to stop. They waved their arms at him but he ignored them. Soon as Warhawk got to his feet Slashmaster hit a shoulder block knocking Warhawk off the stage and onto some storage boxes next to the stage. Warhawk was laid out as Slashmaster stood on the stage, leaning his head to the side and looked down on Warhawk.

The names of the wrestlers here are fun! Although I'm picturing "Jobber Joe" to look more like Glass Joe from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! I have no idea who Bug Buster is supposed to be, LOL! I'm picturing him more like Brocster's "Bed Bug"! Keep going, always a fun read! Todd C WTIC
