NOTE: Episode will not be live until 7:30 PM EST on 12/1 We are back with a freewheeling episode turning the spotlight on the one and only Jack Dourakos! A player from the early days and an inaugural Galacticon attendee, Jack's passion for the game and wrestling run deep. We talk about how he got his start, some of his earliest memories of the game, what drew him to wrestling and how he started as an announcer. We also take a detour into one of Jack's (and Sam's) other primary passions - Music! This was a lot of fun, and frankly, we barely scratched the surface. Luckily, we get the on-air guarantee of a rematch sooner rather than later to cover all the stuff we missed out on. In addition to this, we have news and notes on the latest announcements and when you might expect to receive your precious pre-orders of all the latest and greatest from Fed HQ! Jack is AWESOME, so good to hear him talk about his life experiences. He's truly been everywhere and done everything. One of my favorite Galacticons was the one at the college when we recorded voices for GWF characters. Matthew and I hung out with him A LOT at that one, he's hilarious. Fantastic episode, great work Roll Up crew, you too Mike M. Jack, I subscribed to Miameramusic!

I can say it is great to here the "heel" Mike M shutting down Sam Fain and killing his hopes and dreams regarding extra cards in PP. I almost laughed so hard while drinking my coffee that it came out of my nose. Almost. Definitely made my day on the drive in. I popped huge for that.

I finished listening to this show tonight.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is a classic and one of my favorite Steve Martin movies (some of my other favorite Steve Martin movies are Bowfinger and Roxanne.)
I have talked to Jack both at Galacticons and at some Bar Wrestling shows but I did not know until today he was also living in Seattle during part of the 1990s. Some of the bands mentioned on this podcast such as Nirvana and Mudhoney I have seen live (I saw Mudhoney at the same venue- the Mercer Arena - where I also once saw the NWA and Don Owens' PNW do a joint show back in 1988.) But overall for Seattle music labels, I personally preferred IFA Records (bands like Real McKenzies, Supersuckers, Swingin' Utters, and Zeke- no relation to me) over Sub Pop.
Good episode, I now need to check out Mia Mera Music.

Listening to this episode was just so much fun... Jack's energy created such a vibrant atmosphere that I could actually hear the smiles you guys must have been wearing from the minute you started recording... These promoter spotlights are such an awesome way getting to know some of the different individuals that play this game... Great job everyone!
