Here are the results from our Maple Leaf Gardens debut!!

Pepper Gomez spoils Dick Raines Great North debut, pinning "Dirty" Dick in tonight's opener! Raines showed some offense early, but even with some questionable tactics, Gomez was too tough tonight! After a couple of dropkicks it was Pepper's MEXICAN CRADLE that earns him the "W". Time: (7:01).

In a classic slobber-knocker, Sgt. Slaughter battles his way to an epic win over a former GNW World Champion in one John Tolos. This match had everything, and by its end both men were wearing crimson masks! Several melees out on the floor (with both participants using whatever was within reach, w/o disqualification) the crowd was treated to a masterpiece of violence and brawling. After several pin attempts by both men, finally Slaughter (3 fatigue) gets the duke, pinning The Golden Greek(5 tokens) After a throat-drop on the top-rope! Time: (25:35)

Billy and Bart Gunn are victorious in Toronto, besting THE VACHONS in our first tag-team match of the evening! In another close back and forth match, The GUNNslingers used the double-team to perfection in a rousing defeat of Mad Dog and The Butcher! Bart pins Mad Dog after a textbook WALTZ ACROSS TEXAS double-team finisher! Time: (8:54).

An ornery OX BAKER, one half of the GNW World Tag-Team champions (TheHeart-Stoppers) was in the foulest of moods (no surprise there) steamrolling past Hillbilly Jim in another exciting match in MLG. Baker tired quickly of Jim's "down-home" spiel, and just started wailing on the hillbilly. Jim showed a bit of resiliency locking Baker briefly in his vice-like BEARHUG, but an elbow shot to his beak, and Jim releases his grip. Then it was all Baker as he pummels his opponent from pillar to post, finishing him with his patented HEART PUNCH! Time: (7:11).

**********INTERMISSION***********

Jake Roberts collided in an epic match with Hacksaw Jim Duggan tonight in Toronto, that had the frenzied crowd roaring from bell to bell. The Snake remains undefeated thus far (now 2-0) by virtue of his win tonight over Mr. Duggan. Hacksaw was no easy mark, providing plenty of resistance, nearly pinning Roberts after a powerslam and another time via piledriver, but somehow Jake was able to keep his shoulders off the mat. After a low-blow (no DQ) Roberts unleashed his DDT, but Jim kicks out at 2 and a half! After laying the boots to Duggan, The Snake gets the pin after a well placed spinning knee lift!
Time: (10:16).

**GNW INTER-STATE TITLE SHOT MATCH**
Two GNW Top 10 contenders battled under the MLG lights, with an Inter-State title shot going to the victor! Curt Henning (a former I.S. champion) locked horns with THE SUPERFLY Jimmy Snuka in one doozy of a confrontation! Snuka who has struggled in his title shot matches, gets that monkey off his back, defeating Hennig tonight in front of the roaring crowd here in Toronto! After weathering a huge offensive by Henning, Snuka comes back with a vengeance, using his agility to its fullest! After a rapid burst of dropkicks, leap frogs and chops, Jimmy plants Curt into the mat with a powerslam! Snuka then heads up to the heavens and delivers his SUPERFLY LEAP for the 1,2,3. Time: (12:44).

**SPECIAL TAG-TEAM MAIN EVENT**
It was literally a GIANT spectacle for everyone in our MAIN EVENT!! Big John Studd and his partner King Kong Mosca vs Blackjack Mulligan and THE EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD. ....ANDRE the GIANT!! This one had it all, power, brutality, cheating....and grueling wear down holds! Mosca and Studd were out for blood, and soon MULLIGAN was bleeding like a Texas Gusher! They kept Mulligan isolated and away from Andre a good long time. BUT not long enough....and then ANDRE makes them pay....BIG TIME. He blasted Studd who falls out of the ring to the floor, then head butts the bejeezus out of Mosca. With Mulligan tending to Big John out on the arena floor, ANDRE uses his BIG SPLASH to pin a nearly unconscious Mosca! Time: (13:47).

Small but mighty Morden, Manitoba was the place to be last night as Great North crowned a new champion inside the ACCESS EVENT CENTRE!!!

One half of the GNW World Tag-Team champions The Heart-Stoppers STAN STASIAK was victorious in singles action tonight in Morden! "The Man" bested Al Perez in a nip/tuck opening match! After kicking out of a Perez AIRPLANE SPIN, Stasiak (using a respite on the outside and a thumb to the eye - No DQ), took Al to task, pinning him after of course his dreaded HEART PUNCH! Time: (8:04).

Tiger Conway Jr's final GNW outing was a SQUASH victory over The Grappler. Conway perhaps upset over his dismissal wasted no time in defeating his masked opponent. After clearly dominating with his speed, Tiger wins by pinfall rather suddenly with a FLYING HEAD BUTT! While celebrating afterwards, The Grappler attacked from behind leaving Conway lying in the ring, before exiting to the back amid a chorus of boos. Time: (2:58).

The Great Malenko lived up to his moniker, winning an exciting back and forth confrontation against the electrifying EDDIE GUERRERO. Eddie was on his game and really dominated the action early on. BUT a questionable move by MALENKO turns this whole match topsy-turvy! While attempting a flying cross body, Malenko near the ropes, drops down and pulls the top rope
down with him and Eddie crashes to the floor! After beating GUERRERO to and fro outside the ring, The Great One tosses him back into the squared circle and pins him after a decapitating RUSSIAN SICKLE!
Time: (5:51).

**********INTERMISSION**********

Another pair of departing grapplers (next up is the GNW ROSTER SHUFFLE) win tonight in Morden, but not in the way they expected. Isaac the Impaler and Bulldog Don Kent were on the winning end of a disqualification in their Tag-Team match-up against THE BOYS (Golden Boy Paul Christy and Nature Boy Roger Kirby). The brawlers started out attacking Christy after tossing Kirby to the floor! They used every dirty truck they knew, but just couldn't pin either Kirby or his partner. Soon after having their fill of the illegal tactics of the two brutes, the action becomes a four-way brawl on the concrete floor! After the referee warns Kirby not to use it, he swings a chair into Isaac's back in an attempt to save a bleeding Christy! The referee (in a very unpopular gesture) disqualified THE BOYS as the crowd screamed its disapproval! Time: (9:39).

Ronnie Garvin and Bobby Duncum clashed in a DONNYBROOK! The Hands of Stone were flying and Duncum was replying with some hay-makers of his own! It was a brutal and charged contest right from the opening bell! The heated battle raged so intensely, the referee loses control of both participants and is forced to make a ruling, this time it is a DOUBLE DISQUALIFICATION! Both men battled all they way to the back! Time: (5:25).

**GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP**
INTER-STATE gold changes hands tonight in The Access Event Centre! Fighting champion Samoa Joe drops the strap in his 6th defense in 42 days. But it was a classic and JIMMY SNUKA never looked better! It was a turbulent struggle both men were physical and at their best! Snuka (3 fatigue) nearly succumbs to Joe's MUSCLE BUSTER and REAR NAKED CHOKE, just managing to evade the loss! Snuka fought all the way back against his larger opponent, after a rapid fire round of leap frogs and chops, The Superfly uses a small package (from thin air) to quickly pin the stunned SAMOA JOE (2 tokens).(Earlier in the match Joe DID manage to roll out from under Snuka's SUPERFLY LEAP). In a classy move both men shook hands afterwards. YOUR NEW GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPION. ....JIMMY SUPERFLY SNUKA!!! Time: (16:27).

Despite the heavy rains and strong thunderstorms, it was a terrific night of professional wrestling in Rochester, Minnesota!

The manic Bugsy McGraw puts a damper on The Blue Meanie's Great North debut! Big Bugsy was in top form easily absorbing everything BM could dish out! Meanie misses on a deathjump opportunity, and McGraw takes the win via pinfall after an elbow drop.
Time: (7:36).

In a very fast and exciting match Eddie Guerrero defeats the debuting Jerry Lynn in front of the raucous Rochester crowd. The action was fast and furious, as both men put on an aerial dogfight, to the crowd's delight. This was a chess match of agility and strategy! In the end Guerrero was the victor catching Lynn off the ropes with a split second tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, that takes Jerry's breath away just long enough for Eddie to get the 1,2,3! Time: (6:40).

In our tag-team feature, a successful debut outing for Mike Davis/Tommy Lane The Rock and Roll RPMS! They defeated the Moondogs in impressive fashion! Rex and Spot did put up a struggle right at the opening bell, but Lane/Davis had all the answers tonight! Tommy pins Rex after a picture perfect ROCKET LAUNCHER tag finisher! Time: (4:25).

**********INTERMISSION**********

THE WORLD'S STRONGEST MAN was in the house last night in the Mayo Civic Center Arena in Rochester!! The man-mountain Mark Henry versus the devious German, Baron Von Raschke! The Baron tried to bum-rush Mark, but soon realized that was a huge MISTAKE ! Mark then tosses Raschke around the ring like a rag-doll, and The Baron powders out....and starts heading to the back. Henry gives chase and drives Raschke back into the ring. Trying to re-enter the squared circle himself, The Baron ambushes Mark with a series of stomps....and then is quickly disqualified for refusing to release a CHOKE HOLD. Time: (5:36).

***GNW INTER-STATE TITLE SHOT***
In the match of the evening.....two incredibly red-hot GNW stars clashed in a sure-fire "MATCH OF THE YEAR" candidate! Roddy Piper and Jake the Snake with a shot at the Inter-State gold to the winner! The deafening crowd thundered from start to finish, as these two unpredictable forces of nature collided! It was physical, it was violent and it was EPIC! Roberts escaped Piper's SLEEPER twice, plus a pin attempt after a piledriver! Piper also evaded Roberts' devastating DDT, at least twice, by quickly escaping The Snake's grasp! During a flurry of rights and lefts between the two adversaries, Roberts was finally able to strike out of nowhere with his dreaded finisher for the 3-count! Afterwards Damien was allowed to slither all over the beaten Piper before Jake scooped him up and headed to the back. Time: (14:39).

********NON-TITLE MAIN EVENT*********

GNW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION BOBO BRAZIL....might be rethinking these NON-TITLE appearances after his harrowing match against Kevin Sullivan tonight in Rochester! Bobo wins by DISQUALIFICATION but The Taskmaster exacts a heavy toll from the champion! It was an ugly display of under-handedness right from the get-go! Sullivan has Brazil bleeding after gnawing on his head for what seemed like an eternity!. Brazil roared back with a big Bobo Body Slam...and a big boot! After Brazil charges into an empty corner, Sullivan starts using a FOREIGN OBJECT (concealed from the ref) to further add to the Champ's woes. In his zeal to administer punishment to Brazil, Kevin lost his grip on the object and it is finally seen by the official as it tumbles to the mat, and he quickly calls for the bell. YOUR WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION BOBO BRAZIL. Sullivan refused to curtail his assault, and all tonight's wrestlers plus security had to come out to restore order. Time: (9:52).
