Fightful Select and other outlets are reporting that three time and current TNT Champion and founding EVP Cody Rhodes' contract with AEW expired at the end of 2021 and he is currently working without a deal; meaning Cody is technically a free agent. It won't happen, but could you imagine Cody (or Stardust) turning up at the Rumble? PWTorch article reflecting Fightful's reporting

Seems like a publicity stunt for his silly reality TV show.

Doubt it ? After everything Cody said about WWE then appear in the rumble . Just keep AEW fans on their toes watching Raw , Smackdown & Rumble just incase .
But if he is free , how about trying to sign him , Dustin and Dusty ?

Seems like a publicity stunt for his silly reality TV show. ...... That's the impression I got. Makes good drama. "Will he stay or will he go?" The scene where Brandi and he sit by the telephone "should I call Vince?" and the anguished looks. Right, he's not going anywhere. And he shouldn't.

Unless he thinks he can make the transition to Hollywood. I can see him thinking that. I could see Cody in a remake of Hard To Kill. He has some Segal in him.

I saw an interesting theory that as part of him resigning with AEW he gets the ability to win the World Title as a clause in the contract. Would further his heel turn.

Seems like a publicity stunt for his silly reality TV show. Cody has X-Pac heat from me. I have never been interested in anything he does. Cornette's reviews of the reality show have been hilarious.

Till they do anything on screen with him being a FA it is just a business situation. If they DO do something on screen, I see it being like when AJ was a FA with Impact. Probably a "where will he wrestle next" situation before he "resigns" with AEW.
