The semifinals were not kind to the home team including Seattle. Now have to wait for the XFL Championship on Saturday May 13th. I wonder if The Rock will be involved. I am sure he will be there at the least.

I am watching the USFL game at work and I thought hit me. The idea could work for the USFL but seems better for the XFL thus I am posting here. It seems the XFL has a bit of a connection/working agreement with the NFL. Plus the XFL teams have an actual home site they play home games at thus the idea works better for them.
The idea is if the NFL wanted to test out new markets for either expansion and/or relocation of current franchises the XFL could expand or relocate to them to judge the fan support. Of course it would not be the same as the NFL but they could compare to other XFL markets to get an idea of the fan support for pro football. Three markets I thought of are Oklahoma City, Honolulu and Mexico City. Here is why those would be good ones to test.
Oklahoma City - They have an NBA team. They have good college football support. You could build a rivalry between either Dallas or Houston.
Honolulu - They have no pro teams but did use to host the Pro Bowl plus they host NCAA Basketball tournaments at the start of the season. The NFL obviously would like to expand into Europe so this would give them a look into how that could work via time changes and distance traveled. I would think it would be close to if not inline with a team in Europe for those things.
Mexico City - The NFL has held games there and the support has been amazing. But is that due to the novelty of the games or would fans come out for a whole season? Season after season? Also a good way to test traveling to a foreign country on the regular to see if any bugs that would have to be worked out if they did expand into Europe.
I think the XFL would be perfect to help the NFL with this. Just an idea.

The UFL kicks off in just over 3 weeks. ESPN is part of the league via being one of the TV partners. Yet, on their website they still show XFL as something they cover. Not a good sign that they have not updated their site. At least when you click it the info is about the UFL.

The St. Louis Battlehawks signed AJ McCarron who was their QB last year when they were an XFL team. The first UFL Championship Game will be in St. Louis. I can only imagine what the Battle Dome(that's what i call it) will be like if AJ leads the Hawks to the title game. Ka-Kaw is the law!

I forgot that the UFL kicked off their season today. My Michigan Panters beat topdollar St. Louis Battlehawks on a 64-yard FG. The Panthers X account posted: motor city kitties: 1-0 battlepigeons: 0-1

The Panthers X account posted: motor city kitties: 1-0 battlepigeons: 0-1 I saw that FG. It wasn't quite as bad as Don Denkinger's bad call in Game 6 of the '85 World Series, but talk about snatching victory from the jaws of defeat... Still a long season, and Battlehawks showed with AJ McCarron's late touchdown drive that Ka-Kaw is the law!

But he made the one before it but a TO was called so it didn't count. Then when you realize that was his first FG attempt in a game since high school as he played soccer and was a kickoff specialist in college it's double impressive.

In the last few years there has been talk that pro sports, like wrestling, is scripted. I caught a replay of the Michigan/St Louis game and there are things in the game that could be pointed to that show it being scripted. At the end of the first half St Louis lined up to try a FG and Michigan called a timeout to try and freeze the kicker. They discussed what the numbers would show on how often freezing a kicker works. Fast forward to last minute or so of the game. Michigan needs a FG to win the game. They talk about how Michigan's kicker had not attempted a game time FG since high school. They said they talked to the coach and he told them the kicker was making them from 65 with no rush. They said the coach would not have him attempt a 65 yard FG. They were right as the coach had him attempt one from 64. Then St. Louis calls a timeout but the kicker goes thru the motions and makes it. On the next play, the real FG attempt, he kicks it in almost the same position and makes it. A bit fishy or just good timing?
On a side note, I forgot who it was on one of the sports talk shows but they said what were the kicker's college coaches thinking not having him attempt FGs when he was on the team. He went to Central Arkansas, Texas State and Arkansas. That last one is an SEC school so it's like, what WERE they thinking?
