*Roberts cheap shotted Sting with a knee lift as the Stinger was entering the ring. Sting, who accumulated 4 tokens, managed to kick out of a DDT (+5) previously. After the match, Jake put Lucifer on Sting, as a little girl in the crowd is shown crying.

*Gordon Solie catches up with Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Roberts says championships are The Snake Pits main priority, dealing out pain is, but championships will come along away. Roberts says it starts tonight by showing all the rat faced little Stingers that their hero is nothing but a fallacy.

WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament - Opening Round Match
(2) The Steiner Brothers def. (7) The Moondogs when Scott Steiner pinned Rex after a Frakensteiner.
*Scott had 1 token, Rex had 5, & Spot had 2. Hard hitting match.

*In the ring, Disco Inferno dances under a giant disco ball.

(4) “The Total Package” Lex Luger won over(13) “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff by disqualification.
*Nikita Koloff lost his temper during a brawl outside the ring and applied a choke hold for longer than 5 seconds, leading to the DQ. Koloff was livid, but was calmed down by his friend, Magnum T.A.

*From the event center, Tony Schiavone announces that the first WCW Women’s Champion will be crowned at the first Clash of Champions in a 8 woman battle royal. Schiavone reveals the 8 women that will compete for the title.

(2)Big Van Vader W/ Rock Riddle def. (15) “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes with a Vader Bomb.
*Rhodes took a beating, accumulating 3 tokens, before being finally put away. Joey Marella was the official.

*In a press conference, Charlie Cox is introduced as the president of WCW. Cox states that he is not looking to compete with WWF, but provide an alternative.

(1) The Road Warriors W/ Paul Ellering def. (8) The Fantastics when Hawk pinned Tommy Rogers after The Doomsday Device.

*An ad reveals that WCW will present Clash of Champions I: Crowning A Champion on January 25th, 2022 from The Omni in Atlanta, GA. The ad notes the finals of the WCW World Championship tournament will take place there.

*In the Royal Rumble Report, Todd Pettengill announces the event will feature a 1 night, 8 tag team tournament to crown the first WWF Tag Team Champions, and reveals the bracket. He also announces an “Elite 8” Elimination Match to crown the first WWF Women’s Champion, featuring all the women in the previous match. Lastly, he reveals Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Don Muraco, Greg Valentine, & Ted Dibiase for the Rumble match itself.

Bobby Heenan says, “yeah, the Hulk-A-Moron.” Accompanied by Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, Hogan says if Andre wants to get his hands on The Hulkster, he could have been a man and did it eye-to-tie, but instead the big, fat, stinky giant chose to cheap shot him on Superstars, during his match, which he wouldn’t expect anything less from a Heenan Family member. Hogan says tonight, with help from Bruti, he will put the Heenan Family through some hands-on family counseling.

*Ware accumulated 2 tokens. James Beard was the referee for the match. On his way, Savage kicked over the stand holding Frankie, which elicited loud boos from the crowd.

*Hype Video plays for The Ultimate Warrior. The video shows Warrior smashing several foes, mainly underneath guys.

*Backstage, Slick, accompanied by Power & Glory, tells D-Lo Brown that winners should stick together and offers to be D-Lo’s manager. Brown says he has seen slimeballs like Slick before and wants nothing to do with him. Power & Glory jump D-Lo and beat him down. The New Age Outlaws arrive on the scene and chase off Power & Glory.

8 Man Tag Team Match
Power & Glory & The Powers of Pain W/ “The Doctor of Style” Slick & Mr. Fuji def. The British Bulldogs & The Rockers W/ Captain Lou Albano when The Warlord pinned The Dynamite Kid with a big leg drop.
*Davey Boy Smith had 2 tokens, Marty Jannetty had 2, Paul Roma had 3, & The Barbarian had 1.

*On Piper’s Pit, Roddy Piper is joined by Kurt Angle. Angle claims that being an Olympic Gold Medalist makes him better than everyone else in the WWF. Piper admits Angle is a great athlete, but that Angle’s little medal doesn’t count for anything in professional wrestling. Angle single leg takedowns Piper, who unloads with fists. Officials & security hit the ring to break it up.

(3) The Brisco Brothers def. (6) The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express when Jack Brisco submitted Robert Gibson after a gutwrench backbreaker.
*Jerry Brisco had 1 token, while Gibson had 4 tokens.

*In a sit down interview with Tony Schiavone, Sting says last week he lost and he’s lost before, but that poor little girl crying was something that hit different. Sting says he let all the little Stingers down. Sting says he should have expected someone called “The Snake” to cheapshot him before the bell, but he didn’t, and it cost him. Sting says he will get another match with Roberts, and he won’t let his fans down. As that poor little girl crying has kept him up, he hopes it keeps Roberts up at night that it took 2, not one, DDTs to keep down The Stinger.

(11) Barry Windham W/ J.J. Dillon def. (6) “Ravishing” Rick Rude W/ Mr. Hughes with a Sweetwater Suplex.
*Rude had 4 tokens, while Windham had 2. During the match, Mr. Hughes was ejected from ringside.

*Just like last week, The Disco Inferno dances under a giant disco ball in the ring to many boos from the crowd.

*Steamboat had 3 tokens, while Zbyszko had 4. 3 ½* mach.

*The Rude Brood joined Jim Ross on set. Rude says Mr. Hughes is his personal bodyguard to protect him from all the rats. Melina claims The Rude Brood will be holding all the gold and she can’t wait to see all the paparazzi cover it. Larry Zbyszko says the journey to the World Championship starts in just mere seconds when he clips the wings of “The Dragon.” Ross asks what if Rude & Zbyszko cross paths. Rude says to not try and start trouble “divot head.”

(5) Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard W/ J.J. Dillon won over (4) The Midnight Express W/ Jim Cornette by DQ due to illegal double teaming.
*Arn had 2 tokens, while Tully had 1.

*Gordon Solie catches up with Ron Simmons after his match. Simmons gives respect to DDP. Simmons says a lot of people think Ric Flair is unbeatable, but if not for JJ Dillon, his friend, The JYD could have beaten Flair last week. Simmons suggests he may bring a dog with him next week to keep things fair and square in his match with The Nature Boy.

*Von Eerie had 3 tokens, while Grable had 2. After the match, Grable continues to put the boots to Von Eerie. MsChif hits the ring and starts clobbering Grable. Jazz then hits the ring, viciously attacking MsChif from behind. Security breaks it up eventually. Commissioner Charlie Cox comes out and makes a tag team match for the next Main Event.

*From the event center, Tony Schiavone reveals that 2 Loser Bracket WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Matches will take place at Clash of Champions I: Crowning a Champion!

“The Laughing Man” Hugh Morrus & The One Man Gang wrestled “The Milkman” Jake Milliman & “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay to a double disqualification for brawling in the ring.
*During Gary Michael Capetta’s introductions, The Gang & Morris jumped Milliman & Jay. Gang had 1 token, Milliman had 1, and Jay had 3. After the match, Gang & Morrus won the brawl with Gang hitting the 747 Splash on Jay while Morrus hit the No Laughing Matter on Milliman.

*In the Gorilla position, Jake Roberts sends Hugh Morrus & The One Man Gang to the ring with instructions to “leave destruction in their wake.” Roberts then turns to Jazz and says that tonight she needs to send a message that The Snake Pit believes in gender equality when it comes to delivering pain and agony.

*Andre had 3 tokens, while Beefcake had 2. Beefcake had Andre in the Sleeper, but Heenan created a distraction. After the match, Steve Regal came out and cut off some Beefcake’s hair before Hulk Hogan chased off the Heenan family with a steel chair.


*In the parking lot, D-Lo Brown thanks Ron Simmons for being his partner tonight, despite the loss. After Simmons' car drives off, Brown is attacked from behind by Sgt Slaughter & General Adnan! Slaughter and Adnan put the boots to D-Lo before ramming D-Lo’s head through a car window!

Tag Team Match
Power & Glory W/ “The Doctor of Style” Slick def. D-Lo Brown & “All-American” Ron Simmons when Paul Roma pinned a Ron Simmons after a top rope axe handle
*The crowd was shocked and then interrupted when WCW star Simmons was introduced as D-Lo’s partner. This match, which included 2 referee bumps, was wild! Brown had 6 tokens, Simmons had 3, Hercules had 5, & Roma had 1. Also, during the match, The New Age Outlaws came out and took Hercules’ chain and both pairs of Power & Glory’s sunglasses.

*A match graphic reveals that Molly Holly will battle Tina Moretti on next week’s Superstars.

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine won over The Ultimate Warrior by DQ when Warrior smashed Valentine in the head with a steel chair.
*Valentine tried to clobber Warrior with the chair during introductions, but Warrior wrestled it away from him.

*After Monsoon and Heenan take opposite sides in the Rose attack on Stratus, Monsoon says, “let’s set it down to the ring announcer!” Gary Michael Capetta is the ring announcer for both WCW & WWF.

Women’s Match
The Fabulous Moolah def. Davina Rose with a Jackknife Cradle.
*Rose had 3 tokens, while Rose had 2. Trish Stratus, who was on commentary, is challenged to come into the ring by Moolah, after the match. However, Moolah chickens out once Stratus is in the ring. Stratus helps up Rose, who leverages into the top turnbuckle. Rose then lays out Stratus with the Rose Plant. Rose left to many boos

*In the Royal Rumble Report, Todd Pettengill announces D-Lo Brown, Brutus Beefcake, Sgt. Slaughter, Hulk Hogan, & Mr. Perfect for the Royal Rumble match. Todd then runs down the rest of the card

The Quebecers W/ “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart def. The Powers of Pain W/ Mr. Fuji when Pierre Carl Oullet pinned The Barbarian after the Tower of Quebec.
*Barbarian had 2 tokens, The Warlord had 1, Jacques had 2 and Pierre had 3. The match saw both heel manager’s try to outcheat the other.

*In the studio, Gorilla Monsoon announces D-Lo Brown will face Power & Glory tonight and will be able to choose absolutely anyone as his partner. Heenan asks, “who would want to team up with that idiot?”

*Great match! Holly had 5 tokens and was busted open after having her head rammed onto a monitor sitting on the announce table. Holly had 5 tokens, while Moretti had 2. Despite bleeding, Holly offered a handshake, but got a slap to the face from Moretti instead.

*President Teddy Long announces that D-Lo Brown will be out 4 weeks due to Sgt. Slaughter’s attack and will miss the Royal Rumble. Long says an announcement regarding a replacement will be made on the next Prime Time Wrestling.

“The Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich forced Johnny Rodz to submit with an abdominal stretch.
*Rodz had 2 tokens.

*In a logo promo, Koko B. Ware, accompanied by Frankie, says Randy Savage beating him was one thing, but trying to harm Frankie is another. Ware says he would never put his hands on that ugly old bird (Sherri Martel) that walks around with Savage. Ware says the next time he sees Savage, he is going to give Savage two beatings, one for himself and one for Frankie.

*Vader had 2 tokens while Steamboat had 3. After the match, Vader tried to continue the assault with a moonsault, but Steamboat moved. Steamboat then hit a Flying Body Press on Vader, injuring Vader’s sternum (2 months).

*Gordon Solie caught up with Big Van Vader and his manager, Rock Riddle. Vader made his point, whatever that was, and is fired up as Riddle leads him to the ring.

WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament - Opening Round Match
(8) The Fantastics won over (5) The Midnight Express W/ Jim Cornette by DQ when Bobby Eaton was caught bashing Tommy Rogers across the back with the tennis racket.
*Eaton had 4 tokens, Stan Lane had 3, Bobby Fulton had 2, & Tommy Rogers had 3. After the bell, ticked off about the loss, Jim Cornette hit Fulton in the back of the head with the tennis racket, busting him open, as Fulton checked on the downed Rogers.

*From the event center, Tony Schivaone announces 2 Cold Scorpio will face The Disco Inferno at Clash of Champions I: Crowning A Champion


WCW World Championship Tournament - Quarterfinal Round Match
(5) Sid Vicious W/ Rock Riddle def. (4) Lex Luger with a sidewalk slam.


*For the third week in a row, The Disco Inferno dances under a giant disco ball in the ring, but this time he is interrupted by 2 Cold Scorpio, leading to a dance off. Based on crowd reaction, Scorpio wins, which leads to a behind the back dick kick, and a Last Dance!

WCW World Championship Tournament - Quarterfinal Round Match
(9) “All-American” Ron Simmons W/ The Junkyard Dog def. (1) “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair W/ JJ Dillon with a big time clothesline.
*What a match! Flair had 5 tokens, while Simmons had 3. The JYD kept the Horseman from interfering with his chain, but while he did that, JJ Dillon got involved.

*Backstage, Melina sees paparazzi approaching and prepares, but they rush by her and start taking pictures of Penny Banner. Melina is visibly upset.

WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament - Opening Round (Loser’s Bracket)
(7) The Moondogs won over (6) The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express by DQ when The Express took too long double teaming.
*Robert Gibson had 4 tokens, Moondog Rex had 3, & Moondog Spot had 2. The match was restarted by Commissioner Charlie Cox after both teams wrestled to a DDQ.

*Ron Simmons joins Jim Ross. Simmons says with JYD in his corner, his match with Ric Flair will be mano y mano and may the best man win. Ross asks Simmons about appearing on Prime Time Wrestling. Simmons says he wishes he would have stayed longer to watch D-Lo Brown’s back but… Larry Zbyszko interrupts and says Simmons should feel embarrassed because he lost and made WCW look bad. Simmons says Zbyszko wouldn’t even have the guts to show up on WWF, but says he’ll see “The Living Legend” somewhere down the line in a WCW ring.

WCW World Championship Tournament - Quarterfinal Round Match
(11) Barry Windham W/ JJ Dillon won over (14) Jake “The Snake” Roberts by DQ when Sting shoved Windham aside to get at Roberts, tackling “The Snake” and unloading with punches.
*Windham had 1 token, while Roberts had 3. Windham didn’t care for Sting touching him and he attacked Sting, allowing Roberts to slither away. Lex Luger arrived and clotheslined Windham. Security & officials intervened.
