*Bill Apter is with Mildred Burke. Burke says she hears all the buzz about her being one of or the favorite to win the WCW Women’s Championship, but she won’t hear it because she knows it won’t be easy with opponents like Jazz & MsChif in there, but she will give it her all and hopefully walk out with the Championship.

“The Laughing Man” Hugh Morrus & The One Man Gang def. “The Milkman” Jake Milliman & “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay when Gang pinned Milliman after a big right hand.
*Gang had 1 token. After the match, Jake Roberts comes to ringside and orders Morrus and Gang to continue the attack. Morrus & Gang comply, brutalizing Milliman & Jay. Magnum T.A. & Nikita Koloff came out to the ring. T.A. catches a charging Morrus with a Belly-To- Belly Suplex. T.A. then hits a pair of dropkicks on Gang, who is then clotheslined to the floor by Koloff.

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake & “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan W/ Miss Elizabeth def. The Islanders W/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan when Hulk Hogan pinned Haku after Tama accidentally clotheslined his partner.
*Hogan had 1 token & Haku had 3. Also, Beefcake was sporting the haircut Steve Regal gave him last week. After the match, Andre The Giant & Steve Regal hit the ring, leading to a 4-on-2 advantage. Regal chop blocks Hogan from behind as he was brawling with Andre. Andre chokes Hogan in a corner with Regal laying in kicks. Meanwhile, The Islanders double teamed Beefcake. The British Bulldogs then hit the ring, immediately dispatching of The Islanders via a backdrop and clothesline over the top. Beefcake tossed Regal out, leaving Andre to stare down a 4-on-1, which Heenan had him back down from.

*In the Royal Rumble Report, Todd Pettengill announces Andre The Giant, Kurt Angle, Koko B. Ware, Tito Santana & Hillbilly Jim for the Royal Rumble Match itself!

Women’s Match
The Fabulous Moolah def. Molly Holly with a Jackknife Cradle.
*Moolah had 1 token, while Molly had 2. Joey Marella was the ref for this match, as well.

*Bill Apter is with “Sensational” Sherri Martel. Martel says she can’t wait till the Royal Rumble where she will take her rightful place as WWF Women’s Champion by outlasting the entire women’s division, but before that she wants her hands on Koko B. Ware, who made some less than flattering comments about her, next week!

Standard Match
Sgt. Slaughter W/ General Adnan forced “Badass” Billy Gunn to submit with the Camel Clutch.
*Gunn had 2 tokens. After the match, Slaughter refused to release the hold until Jesse James came out. Also, Gunn came out with Hercules’ chain and sunglasses on.

*The footage is shown of Sgt. Slaughter smashing D-Lo Brown’s through a car door last week. Monsoon says the official, Joey Marella, will likely have his hands full with the next match.

Standard Match
Tito Santana def. Val Venis with dropkicks.
*Great match. Tito and Val both had 4 tokens. After the match, Santana is clobbered from behind by Don Muraco, leading to a 2-on-1 beatdown of Santana. Bret Hart comes out to even the score, leading to a pull apart brawl. Teddy Long comes out and makes a tag team match for next week!

*A skit featuring Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan accompanying Ted Dibiase, accompanied by Virgil, as he goes out on the street and makes people do embarrassing things for money. Heenan tries to get in on the action to which Monsoon tells Heenan that he is “ridiculous.”

The British Bulldogs W/ Captain Lou Albano def. The Killer Bees when The Dynamite Kid pinned “Jumpin” Jim Brunzell after the Tower of London.
*Great match. Kid had 3 tokens, Davey Boy Smith had 2, B. Brian Blair had 1, and Brunzell had 3. Handshakes before and after the match.

*In the ring, Sgt. Slaughter, accompanied by Gen. Adnan, brags about taking D-Lo Brown out of the Rumble and says he did it because Brown brought an enemy into the territory (Ron Simmons), making Brown a traitor. WWF President Teddy Long comes out and says Brown’s spot in the Rumble is going to go to someone from WCW with WCW determining just who that will be. Long then puts the now angry Slaughter in a match tonight against Billy Gunn!

Kurt Angle def. Johnny Rodz with an Olympic Slam.
*Rodz put up a fight and accumulated 3 tokens. During the match, Roddy Piper came down to ringside to sneeze on, stomp on, and put Angle’s gold medals down his kilt. Dick Woehrle was the ref.

Cox says the participants are Ron Simmons, Barry Windham, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Diamond Dallas Page, Dustin Rhodes, Nikita Koloff & The One Man Gang.

WCW World Championship Tournament - Semi-Final Round Match
(9) Sid Vicious W/ Rock Riddle won over (5) “The All-American” Ron Simmons by DQ when Simmon slammed Sid onto the announce table.

*The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express joined Jim Ross on the stage. Ricky Morton says they aren’t going to cry over spilled milk about being eliminated from the WCW World Tag Team title tournament, but that delay with match restart after the double DQ, took away all their momentum. Robert Gibson says they want a future match with The Moondogs and they’ll play by The Moondogs rules. The Express are jumped from behind by The Moondogs, leading to a brawl that had to be broken up by security & officials.

WCW World Championship Tournament - Semi-Final Round Match
(2) Big Van Vader W/ Rock Riddle def. (11) Barry Windham W/ J.J. Dillon with a Release Power Bomb.
*Windham accumulated 5 tokens. JJ Dillon was ejected from ringside by the referee. Vader competed with his ribs taped.

*Penny Banner is in the middle of a photo shoot when she is attacked from behind by Melina. Melina eventually bashes Banner in the head with the photographer’s camera!

Women’s Match
Jazz def. Joyce Grable with the Bitch Clamp.
*Grable accumulated 3 tokens.

*We see the clip from Main Event of Jazz attacking Joyce Grable after they lost a tag match with Jazz putting down Grable with a Bitch Clamp, setting up the next match.

(3) The Brisco Brothers W/ Melina def. (2) The Steiner Brothers when Jack pinned Scott with a rolling reverse cradle.

*Accompanied by The Horsemen, Ric Flair storms out to the stage. Flair tells Jim Ross that one person is to blame for him being eliminated from the World title tournament, and that’s the Junkyard Dog. Flair says he will neuter The JYD.

*The match started during introductions with a brawl between Morrus & T.A. Gang had 1 token. After the match, Morrus and Gang attacked T.A. while Nikita was momentarily down. T.A. chased them off by wildly swinging his steel chain.

*Tony Schiavone welcomes Lex Luger to the Okerlund Position. Tony asks Luger about the huge opportunity in the King of the Hill Match at Clash of the Champions. Luger says he plans to win that match and then shock the entire wrestling world by winning the Royal Rumble and bringing the WWF title to WCW. Barry Windham yanks Luger off the stage, but is clotheslined from behind by Windham after a distraction from J.J. Dillon. Windham then drops Luger face first on the edge of the Okerlund Position.

Tommy Rogers won over Jim Cornette by DQ when Stan Lane superkicked Rogers after a distraction from Bobby Eaton.

*In a backstage promo, Beverly Shade lets everyone know she is upset that Mildred Burke didn’t mention her as a big time threat in the Women’s Championship Battle Royal and warns Burke she will be targeting her specifically at the Clash of the Champions.

*Dynamite Kid had 2 tokens, Andre had 1, & Tama had 4. During the match, Hogan actually hit Andre with the Leg Drop, but Heenan interfered.

*In the Royal Rumble Report, Todd Pettengill announces Little Beaver vs. Sky Low Low for the pre-show. He then announces Randy Savage, Kerry Von Erich, The Ultimate Warrior, Steve Regal & Val Venis for the Royal Rumble Match!

Women’s Match

*Morgan Dollar was the referee.

*Bobby Heenan says The Fabulous Moolah is a lock to win the WWF Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble because she is unbeatable. Monsoon says she has been beaten before, including by Susan Green. Heenan says that if it hasn’t happened this year, it doesn’t count. Monsoon says with that being said, the official, Morgan Dollar, is going to have his hands full with the next match.

No DQ Match
The Ultimate Warrior def. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine W/ “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart with a gorilla press slam.
*Valentine had 4 tokens, while Warrior had 3. After the match, The Quebecers jumped Warrior, but Warrior held his own until Valentine jumped in on the attack. The trio forced Warrior back into the corner where they pummeled him. The Rockers hit the ring and scored with stereo superkicks on the Quebecers and a double backdrop on Valentine. Warrior then clotheslined Valentine to the arena floor.

*Todd Pettengill is with Kerry Von Erich. Von Erich says that Ted Dibiase forcing people to do humiliating acts for just a little bit of money is disgusting. Von Erich says if Dibiase walks out of the Royal Rumble with WWF Championship, it will not be good for anyone.

Brian Blair says it doesn’t even matter if it’s The Powers of Pain because the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Don Muraco & Val Venis W/ Mr. Fuji def. Bret “The Hitman” Hart & Tito Santana when Muraco submitted Santana with an over the shoulder backbreaker.
*During introductions, Venis cheap shotted Santana. Muraco had 1 token.

*Heenan wonders why that two bit floozy Rockin’ Robin got involved. Monsoon tells Heenan he’ll have him thrown out of there. As Heeanan quiets down, Monsoon says, “let’s send it down to the ring announcer.”

Re-Match
“The Macho Man” Randy Savage W/ “Sensational” Sherri Martel def. “The Birdman” Koko B. Ware with a Flying Elbow Smash.
*Ware had 2 tokens. After the match, Savage held Ware as Martel paint brushed him. Rockin’ Robin hit the ring and Martel. Savage grabbed Robin by the hair and pulled her up. Ware hit Savage with a dropkick off the turnbuckles. The heel duo retreated.

*An ad announces that WCW’s first pay-per-view, Superbrawl I, will take place on February 27th, 2022 and will emanate from the Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida.

*Ron Simmons is in the Commissioner’s office to draw his King of the Hill number. Simmons can’t help but smile about his number. Larry Zbyszko tells Ron that it doesn’t matter what number he has because he is going to choke once again. Simmons tells Zbyszko that he will choke him if he doesn’t get out of his way. Zbyszko complies.

(2) The Steiner Brothers def. (8) The Fantastics when Scott pinned Bobby Fulton after a Frakensteiner.
*Rick had 3 tokens, Scott had 2, & Rogers had 1. Handshakes before and after the match.

*Gordon Solie is with the first ever WCW Women’s Champion Penny Banner. Banner is quickly interrupted by Melina. Head of security Doug Dillinger quickly gets between the women. Melina tells Banner to be a fighting champion and face her on WCW Saturday Night. Banner accepts!

*The commissioner’s office, Jake “The Snake” Roberts is there to draw his number. Roberts tells Charlie Cox that he will win the King of the Hill match, and then go on to win the Royal Rumble, thus bringing the WWF title to WCW, “trust me.” Roberts draws his number out of the drum. Roberts is clearly not happy with his number, as Tony Schivone approaches. Schiavone asks about the number. Roberts says it isn’t about the number, but how who will go the extra mile to win, and that sounds like him. Tony asks about Sting. Roberts says that it doesn’t bother him that Sting kicked out of one of his DDTs, but it does encourage him to put a little something extra on the next one he gives him.

WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament - Second Round Match (Loser’s Bracket)
(4) Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard W/ J.J. Dillon won over (7) The Moondogs by count-out after Blanchard suplexed Spot on the concrete.
*Blanchard had 1 token, Rex had 1, and Spot had 2 tokens.

*At the Okerlund Position, Tony Schiavone asks Rock Riddle about his two men facing off for the WCW World Championship and if they will be able to coexist after. Riddle says Big Van Vader & Sid Vicious are business partners, not friends, so they will be fine fighting each other, and fine doing business together after. Riddle says no materr who wins, he wins.

*Amazing match. Holly had 5 tokens, while Morreti had 3. Dr. Mike Loan was at ringside to photograph all the great action, and Joey Marella was in the ring calling the action. After the match, Holly offers a handshake, which is accepted, but then Moretti kicks Holly in the gut and delivers a Jumping Facebuster.

*In Piper’s Pit, Roddy Piper says he will win the Royal Rumble to become WWF Champion, which is more prestigious than any gold medal. Piper brings out Fabulous Moolah, who he accuses of being a little afraid to step in the ring with Susan Green, due to her past success over Moolah. Moolah says that is ridiculous and she isn’t afraid of anything. Piper says anything but a diet. Moolah slaps Piper but then is tackled through the ropes by Green. As Piper laughs at what’s going on, Kurt Angle slips in the ring and gives him an Angle Slam.

Standard Match
“The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase W/ Virgil submitted George South with the Million Dollar Dream.
*After the match, as Dibiase prepared to shove a dollar in South’s mouth, Kerry Von Erich hit the ring. As Dibiase exited, Virgil charged Von Erich and was hit with the discus punch.

*In front of a Bobby “The Brain” Heenan logo, it’s The Heenan Family. Bobby says tomorrow night will be the greatest night of his life because he will leave as manager of both the WWF and WWF Tag Tag Team Champions. Heenan says if The Islanders get their hands on The British Bulldogs and if Andre The Giant & Steve Regal get their hands on Hulk Hogan & Brutus Beefcake along the way, it will be icing on their championship cake.

Tag Team Match
The Killer Bees def. “The Milkman” Jake Milliman & “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay when B. Brian Blair put Jay away with the Sleeper.
*After the match, The Powers of Pain jumped The Bees. The Barbarian put a charging Blair down with a big boot and The Warlord countered a cross body block by Jim Brunzell into a power slam.

*In the Superbrawl I Report, Tony Schivone announces that the finals of the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament will take place at the show. He also announces that the first ever WCW United Champions will be crowned in a 6 man Fight The Power Elimination Match. Schiavone says the participants will be announced next week.

Women’s Match
Jazz def. MsCHif w/ The Bitch Clamp.
*MsChif had 2 tokens.

*Gordon Solie is with MsChif. A fired up MsChif says that Jazz wanted to deliver a message to the women’s locker room, and a message will be delivered, but MsChif will be the deliverer and the message will be full of fire and brimstone.

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat def. Sid Vicious W/ Rock Riddle w/ a Flying Body Press.
*Sid had 4 tokens. After the match, Sid clobbered Steamboat across the back and chokeslammed “The Dragon.” At Riddle’s urging, Sid set up Steamboat for a Power Bomb on the concrete, but Dustin Rhodes hit Sid with a flying clothesline off the ring apron. Dustin helped Steamboat up as Big Van Vader hit the scene, followed quickly by security, officials and various wrestlers.

*A highlight video is shown of Ricky Steamboat’s impressive performance in the King of the Kill Match in which he eliminated Lex Luger, Dustin Rhodes, Ron Simmons & Ric Flair.

WCW Women’s Championship Match
Penny Banner © def. Melina with a Sunset Flip.
*Melina had 1 token. After the match, Beverly Shade, who was eliminated in the battle royal by Banner, hit the Champion with the Hammer from behind. Melina then hit Banner with the Last Call. As Melina & Shade were leaving, Banner crawled to the mic and challenged Shade to a match next week, which was accepted.

*Backstage, Rock Riddle is with The Masters of the Powerbomb. As Sid Vicious is notably looking at Big Van Vader’s WCW Championship belt, Riddle tells Sid that he needs to take out Ricky Steamboat tonight because by Steamboat injuring Vader, he threatened their business and the money that comes from it.

Tag Team Match
