*Major heat on Slaughter when he eliminated Hogan. Standing applause for Hart as he walked to the back. Show ended with Ultimate Warrior celebrating with his new belt as confetti fell, pyro went off and the crowd applauded.
*An ad airs announcing a WWF TV special called Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place on February 26th and will emanate from the Nassau Coliseum in New York, New York.
WWF Tag Team Championship Tournament - Final Round Match
(6) The Islanders W/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan def. (5) The Rockers when Haku pinned Shawn Michaels after a thrust kick.
*Before the match, Haku attacked Michaels on the outside, but Shawn caught him charging and hit a power slam through the announce table.
*Shawn had 3 tokens, Marty had 6, Haku had 2, & Tama had 3. The Islanders previously won the match by DQ for Shawn entering illegally, but since titles can’t be won by DQ, WWF President Teddy Long restarted the match under No DQ rules.
*A highlight video is shown of how each tag team got to the WWF Tag Team Championship tournament finals.
WWF Women’s Championship - “Elite 8” Elimination Match
Davina Rose VS. The Fabulous Moolah VS. Molly Holly VS. Rockin’ Robin VS. “Sensational” Sherri Martel VS. Susan Green VS. Tina Moretti VS. Trish Stratus
*Order of elimination: 1) Rockin’ Robin (3 tokens) by Trish Stratus via Stratusfaction. 2) Tina Moretti was disqualified for hitting Stratus with a steel chair. 3) Susan Green via Davina Rose’s Rose Plant. 4)The Fabulous Moolah was disqualified for using a cable wire on Martel. 5) Davina Rose by Molly Holly via a countered sunset flip. 6) Sherri Martel by Molly Holly after the Molly-Go-Round. 7) Trish Stratus after Molly Holly countered a flying body press into a pin. Winner: Molly Holly
*Rose had 2 tokens, Moolah had 1, Holly had 1, Robin had 3, Martel had 2, Green had 1, & Stratus had 3. After the match, Stratus & Holly shook hands and hugged.
*In the Royal Rumble drawing room, the last three men, Brutus Beefcake, Koko B. Ware & Tito Santana, draw their numbers. The camera then pans over to the WWF Championship belt setting on a stand nearby.
WWF Tag Team Championship Tournament - Semi-Final Round Match
(6) The Islanders W/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan def. (7) Power & Glory W/ “The Doctor of Style” Slick when Tama pinned Hercules after the Islander Splash.
*Haku had 2 tokens, Tama had 3, Hercules had 3 and Paul Roma 7.
*In the Royal Rumble drawing room, Kerry Von Erich enters and draws his number. Von Erich leaves the room very happily, and is confronted by Ted Dibiase and his bodyguard, Virgil. Dibiase says he can tell by the look on Von Erich’s face that he drew a high number. Dibiase tells Von Erich he will give him a pile of cash, and he won’t have to do anything stupid or humiliating for it, but he will have to trade him numbers. Von Erich says that would be the stupidest thing he could ever do and walks away, leaving Dibiase upset.

(5) The Rockers won over (1) The New Age Outlaws by DQ when “The Road Dogg” Jesse James slammed Shawn Michaels on the announce table.
*”Badass” Billy Gunn had 2 tokens, Michaels had 3, & Marty Jannetty had 6. The Outlaws appeared to have the match one earlier after a James Gang Ambush, but referee Joey Marella was knocked out.
*In the Royal Rumble drawing room, Bret Hart draws his number. Hart shakes his head at his number, as Roddy Piper enters. The two shake hands and hug. Piper tells Hart that he has nothing but love for him, but out there… Bret interrupts the pause by saying that Piper doesn’t need to say it, and that they both will do what they have to out there. Piper says, “you damn betcha,” and then draws his number.
WWF Tag Team Championship Tournament - Quarterfinal Round Match
(6) The Islanders W/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan def. (3) The Quebecers W/ “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart when Haku pinned Carl Pierre Oullette after he ran headfirst into the turnbuckle.
*Carl, who busted wide open from his own manager’s megaphone, had 8 tokens, Haku had 1, and Tama had 2. Another solid match. Dick Woehrle was the referee.
*In the Royal Rumble drawing room, The Ultimate Warrior rushes in, draws his number, throws his number, and pounds his chest before leaving.

(7) Power & Glory W/ “The Doctor of Style” Slick def. (2) The British Bulldogs W/ Captain Lou Albano when Paul Roma surprised Davey Boy Smith with a cross body block.
*Smith had 1 token, The Dynamite Kid ha
d 2, & Roma had 3.
*In the other locker room, as his fellow Diamond Mine members watch closely, DDP is approached by Hillbilly Jim, who shakes DDP’s hand and says may the best man win.

(5) The Rockers def. (4) The Powers of Pain W/ Mr. Fuji when Marty Jannetty pinned The Warlord after the Rockerplex.
*The Barbarian had 2 tokens, Warlord had 4, Janetty had 5 and Shawn Michaels had 1. Great match. Joey Marella was the referee.
*In the locker room, Sgt. Slaughter & General Adnan are trying to sell the story to Don Muraco, Mr. Perfect, Ted Dibiase, Greg Valentine, Kurt Angle, Val Venis, Randy Savage and their various seconds that there is an invader in their mix, referring to Diamond Dallas Page, and no matter what happens, he can’t leave the arena with the WWF Championship. Rather all of them were buying into it is hard to say.
WWF Tag Team Championship Tournament - Quarterfinal Round Match
The New Age Outlaws won over the (4) The Killer Bees by DQ when Jim Brunzell smashed “The Road Dogg” Jesse James’ head onto the announce table.
*B. Brian Blair had 3 tokens. The Killer Bees were selling the effects of the attack on them by The Powers of Pain. James Beard was the referee.
*The show opens with a video package of all the Royal Rumble participants being named as their picture appears on screen.
Pre-Show
Midgets Match
Sky Low Low won over Little Beaver by count-out after a body slam on the concrete.
*Beaver had 2 tokens, while Low Low had 1.
*In a backstage area, Teddy Long and Morgan Dollar stand next to the Royal Rumble number drawing drum. Hulk Hogan, accompanied by Miss Elizabeth, enters, shakes Long’s hand, and draws his number. After Hogan checks his number, he goes to leave, but bumps into Andre The Giant, accompanied by Bobby Heenan and Steve Regal. As the two engage in a staredown, Long warns them that if there is any physical contact, they will both be out of the Rumble. Hogan tells Andre that he’ll see him in the Rumble, Heenan says Andre will be looking forward to it.
*In the parking lot, a pink Cadillac pumps up, and out hops The Diamond Mine, who head into the arena.
