Im confused why would you think they'd stat him as a tag partner with Windham. He was basically a singles guy until his WWF run with Windham who'd only team up with guys like Windham, etc in Floriday/Mid Atlantic occassionally to fight a couple of bag guys (like Lawler/Dundee in Memphis). It wasnt until they went to the WWF they became official an official tag team They were the U.S. Express and tag champs, and that's what most people say when they want that version of Rotunda. So what do you do with Windham in that case? As far as IRS, no I don't see that being the name on the card but if they want to do stats for that era the name can still be Mike Rotunda. For the record, I would be in favor of releasing a U.S. Express era Windham to go along with a face Rotunda release... |

My guess is we won't get a gimmick persona in this set, especially since it was basically a midcard gimmick. So no IRS or Gordon Gekko knockoff. It's most likely to be white meat babyface or college jock heel. But Filsinger Games has fooled us before. 😉

It's most likely to be white meat babyface or college jock heel. But Filsinger Games has fooled us before. 😉 I would think, possibly, we get them as a tag team in our September four-pack. Maybe it's some '80s tag teams (U.S. Express) and another team. |

I think we get Spivey this year in TNT, it makes sense because he's getting an award, and he fits the bill as a "not new name." It also fits if they want to hold Penny Banner for a third women's set (allegedly they have four names signed) and/or there are issues with Masa Saito's release. I mean one has to think that we are getting two to three colorizations, and there are approximately three names that are in the Hall, will be receiving an award from the Hall this year and that only have B&W cards. So do we get Golden Boy to team with babyface NotMike? Not sure it is necessary. Remember, there was a heal mechanic on Backlund's card last year with the finisher. I think you could see a more generic Spivey and a more generic face Rotunda, that could easily serve as the white meat Rotunda and the Windham tag team partner - I mean really it just needs a downgraded Barry Windham, not a vastly different Rotunda from his other tenures as a face. |

Heel mechanic? Backlund used the Chicken Wing as a face when his knee started to get too hurt from the atomic drop.

Would Windham really need a downgrade? I've been watching a few old US Express matches and Rotundo was usually the face in peril and Windham the hot tag.
Of course, I also think the only real differences between Varsity club Rotunda and US Express Rotundo is art and if he cheats on his abdominal stretch, but that's just me.

that and the airplane spin being his finisher over any of his heel finishers would be most of the difference. Maybe a couple more tag options.
I think Windham would have a slight downgrade more tag options and bulldog as his finisher.
Plus matching jackets.
