Good lord...listening to this Cornette rough draft and taking notes. I doubt you could pay me to watch anything AEW, lol. Dear god. Personally I wouldn't put too much value in what the likes of Cornette says. It's his job to be controversial and make a lot of noise. Yes the event was longer than it needed to be but AEW has put on some incredible matches both on PPV and Weekly dynamites. Give it a chance and see what you think |

Give it a chance and see what you think Lol, well I work for him, so I do put value in what he says because I think much like him when it comes to wrestling. I don't like sillininess, nonsensical booking and flippy crap. And if you listen to his show and he comes up with booking ideas on the fly about AEW, theyre are one million times better than what they show. They're logical, build up to something better (listen to him talking about when they made that stupid FTR match which made no sense other than booking a match). And there's a lot of reasons why I will never watch AEW (listed above) and some I won't get into here...and you still couldn't pay me to watch it, lol. |

I have heard from multiple people there live that they didn't feel the show was as long as it was to the people there at home. I guess the fast pacing was such it was able to keep them engaged. I saw it as a take of three parts of the show. First 3rd was great with the fun Hookhausen nonsense and intriguing the Wardlow-MJF stuff. My mom called me during the Young Bucks vs Hardys, so I guess I didn't notice that Jeff seemed off. Jade vs Anna was a bit of a mess even though I like Jade's character alot...but do agree she she not do her finisher off the turnbuckle any more. Did pop for Stokley and think thats a perfect pairing. The Death Triangle vs House of Black was fantastic as well. The 2nd 3rd of the show is where things slowed down. The Owen finals were blah, although the Rancid entrance for Ruby was cool. The trios match and the Darby vs Kyle match were fine, but should have both been on Dynamite. I'm sure Thunder Rosa vs Serena Deeb was great for those intersted, but I checked out as the build turned me off. The Last 3rd of the show really got me back. I loved Anarchy in the Arena. I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but it certainly is mine. The zombie Eddie Kingston with the gas can image was fantastic. The tag title three way was really good as well. As for the main event, although I could have skipped the stealing of finishers part (where neither guy could do the other's all that well), I thought it was a good story and the right guy won IMO. In talking to Vegas last night he reminded me that I was right on all my predictions for the show when we talked last week. I guess as a fellow data analyst I understand the booking philosophy of Tony Khan.  |
