I personally loved attending AEW's Double or Nothing PPV in Las Vegas tonight! I honestly had SO much fun!
Right before I left for Double or Nothing, I made an awesome signing for the game at the FSW Arena (it is someone who was in my current Top 10 for most wanted for the Indy game) and I have absolutely no doubt this signing will be in the next Best of Indies set if not perhaps sooner. So I went into the show already feeling all fired-up/excited!
One of my 2 favorite wrestlers, CM Punk won the AEW World Championship tonight in Las Vegas! Now two of the most important moments of CM Punk's career- the Pipe Bomb and winning the AEW World Championship- have happened here in Las Vegas! I wore my new CM Punk shirt that I bought at Dynamite on Wednesday night to today's PPV. I am going to wear it at Galacticon in Chicago too!
I got to see, one of my favorite bands, Rancid play at Double or Nothing! I go see Rancid I think every single time they play here in Las Vegas and tonight they played Ruby Soho for Ruby Soho's entrance music! I knew ahead of time it was happening, but it was still awesome. As one of my friends I sat with said, Britt Baker (who entered with music from a guitarist from Fozzy) won the match but Ruby Soho definitely won the ring entrances.
The debuts of RUSH and Athena!
some of my favorite matches from tonight:
CM Punk vs Adam Page (but Punk- as he said afterward, should refrain from trying more Buckshot Lariats)
The Ten Man Tag Team Anarchy In The Arena.
But I agree with the poster here- I think it was
LAWraith- who said Kingston and Jericho should have fought each other more in this match. I think that is valid criticism. Kingston's earlier promo of saying Jericho made him revert to his demons- alcohol- but also saying his demons can swim was awesome. But instead, Kingston spent most of the match fighting Daniel Garcia and Matt Menard in the upper concourse while Jericho was down in the ring area. I know that Kingston later poured gasoline on Jericho but I don't think they should have been that overall separated during the match. Also, why in the Hell is Kingston (who walked right by our seats) going up the stairs first followed by the supposedly cowardly and bleeding heel who calls himself a sports entertainer Matt Menard? Shouldn't that have been reversed? But perhaps I am missing something I did not see that the PPV audience did as live I am watching 5 different points of action in a 10-man brawl while at home you have the camera showing you what they want you to focus on accompanied by commentary. Nevertheless those are nitpicking points by me and overall I really liked this match!
House of Black vs Death Triangle
Hardys vs Young Bucks (but I have also seen them fight each other along with Roppongi Vice before here in Las Vegas at an ROH Anniversary PPV in 2017)
Kyle O'Reilly vs Darby Allin (I admittedly missed part of this match to go to the bathroom and get something to eat and drink- but I still saw alot of it from the screens in the concourse and at the concession stand.)
Thunder Rosa vs Serena Deeb
Adam Cole vs Samoa Joe
But I had no doubt Adam Cole- even before he appeared in Hart pink-colored gear- was winning this match.
The tag match was good too. I think Keith Lee and Powerhouse Hobbs would make an awesome tag team.
so to recap:
1) an awesome Indy signing while leaving for this show, 2) CM Punk winning the title in Las Vegas, 3) seeing Ranicd play live, 4) the other good matches I listed, 5) sitting with two of my best friends Alex and Bryan= one of the best times I have ever had at a PPV!
Bottom Line: I had a better time attending Double or Nothing today than I had attending Wrestlemania Night 1 in Dallas last month (and I had fun at Wrestlemania too!)
