I have found that working my territory works really well. I have about six regular tag teams and four others that are "coming through" for about 12 to 24 cards depending on how it works. I also have about 12 to 15 "regular" singles wrestlers and another five to six that are coming through the territory. I have touring World Tag and World Heavyweight Champions (always start with Thesz and The Roos) that come through two or three times per year to run a short two week program (two cards) with my big draws. I have a Heavyweight and and TV singles title and Tag Team Titles as well. That's how i work my fed. I kept it small like that too. I think for me, it just works easier to have less than 10 guys that I can kind of "associate" with my Florida territory, where even if they aren't in my territory at the moment, they will work so much in my territory that, in head cannon, they're just known as a "Florida guy". Otherwise if I have more than 10 I feel the need to get every single one on a card. That was my biggest issue with booking. Always feeling like I had to use everyone every week. I don't have any initial champs yet for my territory. I'm letting it play itself out, but I am associating my territory with the NWA, so I will have the NWA World Title and the Tag Title holders coming through from time to time.

I have 200+ in mine......but I only run 4 matches a show normally and simply cycle through people as I want to use them.
Small feds are great too. The beauty of this game is to do what you want and have fun while you do that.

I just use the guys from the 80s in one big fed and put together whatever matches take my fancy. I'm essentially reliving my favourite period over and over again.

I too have suffered from mental blocks even though I have all the resources I could want but it has to click with ms to stick and keep me interested.
I admit that part of it is manic depression but when something strikes my fancy, I am off and running. Right now I am running an ECW fed which is basically early 2000s and late 90s and a MLW fed which is primarily 2013-2015 around that time frame.
Both these feds happened from me lookin at my cards. I have to admit I really am digging it. I am especially liking Austin Aries and using him as the "Title Hunter". Much like his Title Collector persona but this is more based on the hunt.

I've started and re-started. Mostly due to life events that cause me to not roll the dice for months at a time. Now, I strictly use cards that appeal to me, roll as many matches as I can at once, and flesh out the cards later, like how it might be in the pre everything live days, and working studio wrestling.

The first rule about the secret sauce is not to talk about the secret sauce.

Same. Having a kid derails the fed sometimes. I really need to do my Vader vs. Harley Race for the big gold belt one of these days.

So here's my latest flavor of the secret sauce: I recently read the Wrestling at the Chase coffee table book and one of the things that stood out was that St. Louis use to run 16-18 big events at the Kiel or St. Louis Arena every year, hyped by weekly episodes of Wrestling at the Chase. That shakes out to a big event about every three weeks so that's what I'm doing.
The weekly shows are four matches, one hour of TV time. The big shows will be six matches, two hours. This is shorter than I've been doing so I'm focusing on fewer wrestlers at a time. Wrestlers will appear usually once in the three weeks leading to the event. I don't like builds this fast as a rule but I'm also a man with a finite lifespan and a wife and kid so I'll make do.

I just decided with the new set to have my first Supercard so I could debut some guys, but I figured it would be good to treat those matches like #1 contenders matches as well. I'm not savvy enough to have a long build and I felt like "How can I get these new guys a debut match? Even if it's just a one-off?" So, I decided it was time for a Supercard. Next one might be in 3 cards or 10 cards. As long as you enjoy the game - that's the most important part. In fact, the other day I caught myself thinking "What should I do with [Insert talent name here] next?" I realized what I was doing - I didn't want the mythical secret sauce to interfere, and just said "Sorry pal, we just don't have anything for you right now" and he's out of the territory, till I feel like bringing him back lol.

Three shows between big events isn't enough to build up viable challengers for the belts, especially when the guys you want to push keep trading wins back and forth. I'm thinking about just doing TV and letting things happen organically rather than having big events.
