According to a recent Interview with Andrade the initial plans for him at forbidden door was to challenge Ospreay. As seen in dynamite last week he was replaced in the booking by Orange Cassidy due to Andrades relationship with AAA and them not allowing talent to work new Japan.
I have not linked the article just because technically it has a spoiler for a match this coming week on Dynamite But what are people's thoughts on the now cancelled Ospreay vs Andrade match?

AEW feels like they are on pause until this show is over. Zero advancement w MJF/Wardlow. Ratings in the 700’s. Rampage views in the 300k range. I like NJPW as much as any hardcore fan but it doesn’t look like you can build your TV programs and big shows around them.
I’m sure Osprey vs Andrade would have been a good match, but there is build to this show. From what I’ve read, lots of backstage politics with guys not willing to do jobs. Now I’m reading Okada, Naito and others won’t be on the show?
Interested to see where all the MJF stuff goes once FD is in the rear-view mirror.

Yeah I know what you mean. Minus the ladder match last week it's been all about this but it feels very thrown together. They had to expect egos and people not wanting to job. I am curious to see how Tanahashi vs Mox goes. Obviously Tanahashi winning makes sense so we get the planned punk vs Tanahashi match but I expect some kind of screwy finish if that's the case so AEW can set up Mox in blood and guts and still have him lose the title match to Tana.
The triple threat tag match should be good too and I'm curious to see how the Jay White, Adam Cole, Hangman situation works out (probably triple threat) but the whole show and build just feels very rushed and thrown together

Would be a nice surprise to be wrong. Mox winning the title shot against the battle Royal winner was far too predictable.

Between the Owen Hart tournaments and now New Japan invasions to set up Forbidden door, a good deal of the normal storytelling has been put to the side the past few months. Hopefully after Forbidden Door things get back on track.
I have gotten every AEW PPV since Revolution 2020, but I think I will probably skip this one. Just not as invested in the show as I am for regular PPVs. And besides my 2 favorite New Japan guys arent even on the show at this point (Okada and Yano).

I know they are still teasing Hangman vs Okada but to me if it was happening you'd be hyping Okada there from day 1, and I honestly expected yano vs orange or someone similar. Would have been hilarious to see

I just assume Tanahashi since that was the original plan for punk but then Mox makes more sense since he can be on AEW every week with the belt. Should be a great match tho
