Exactly as the title of the thread implies, I will be playing along with my 6 (soon to be 7) year old son and allowing him to (mostly) book the matches. I may become involved for continuity reasons, character introductions, etc. We will be starting in 2087 and assuming that the happenings from the handbook have already occurred in the Fall of '86. I read my son the entire introduction to all of the characters and to simplify things we are using the example card included in the handbook to kick things off. I'm not going to go into long-winded descriptions of the matches, but mostly provide results and commentary in this ongoing project. Personally I've never really gotten into COTG so using the color sets with my son seems like the perfect entry point. Here's the lineup for our first show:
GWF WrestleHeaven '87 1/4/2087 (GWF 2087 Show#1) 1. Vanity vs. Omega 2. Renegade vs. Death Knight 3. Wolf vs. Executioner 4. The Society of Death (Invincible Kraken, Mutant, & Ghengis Khan) vs. The Flying Titans (Lord Nexus, Pit Viper, & Pulsar) 5. Cosmic Cage Match: Commander Sam vs. Comrade Terror (escape the cage rules) 6. GWF Tag Team Champions The Greek Gods (Actagon & Proteus) defend against The Gladiators of Aethra (Brute & Massacre) 7. GWF Heavyweight Champion Thantos defends against Star Warrior

Looks great. Enjoy this as I am sure you will. Just do not get used to it. He is off to a hot start so I would not be surprised if in a couple years he gets an offer to work for WWE.

GWF WrestleHeaven '87 1/4/2087 Results (GWF 2087 Show#1) 1. Omega pinned Vanity following a shoulder-breaker 2. Renegade pinned Death Knight following a shoulder-breaker 3. Wolf pinned Executioner with a perfect cross-body off the top rope -As Wolf's paw was raised in victory, Ghengis Khan jumped him from behind and the heels teamed up for a 2-on-1 beatdown. Proteus, Wolf's only friend, made the save and sent the heels running! 4. The Flying Titans (Lord Nexus, Pit Viper, & Pulsar) beat The Society of Death (Invincible Kraken, Mutant, & Ghengis Khan) when Pulsar pinned Mutant following Whirlwind. 5. Cosmic Cage Match (escape rules): Comrade Terror beat Commander Sam -Terror dodged a huge corner splash that sent Sam violently into the unforgiving steel then made his cowardly escape 6. GWF Tag Team Champions The Greek Gods (Actagon & Proteus) beat The Gladiators of Aethra (Brute & Massacre) by DQ when Massacre blatantly assaulted Actagon in front of the referee while not the legal man. 7. GWF Heavyweight Champion Thantos beat Star Warrior by DQ -Thantos was at near Zbyszko levels of stalling and darting outside of the ring whenever possible. A frustrated Star Warrior followed him to the outside and attacked Thantos with a trash can to prompt the DQ.
Notes: Kind of a weird show bookended by the shoulder-breaker being established as a devastating finishing maneuver and DQs in the top matches. My son was very excited to roll on the feud card following the Wolf/Executioner match that sets up the next show. More on that in a few days when I preview the card.

yeah, got to love some of those old moves.....as classic as the original sets are, diverse movepools are not in their favor. High DQs too. Still, it's fun to see 87 in any form.

Notes: Just wanted to describe a bit about how I let my son "book" the show. Basically I organize the faces and heels into two stacks of cards then he closes his eyes and randomly picks one card from each stack that I fold out for him. When he gets to see the pair I then ask him if he wants to keep this a singles match or make it a tag team match. Based on a roll on the feud table from the previous card, we already had the main event set up for this show. We also set up that Comrade Terror & Commander Sam would have the week off due to the brutal Cosmic Cage Match. Thantos is putting off defending his title as much as possible and seems to be throwing challengers at his top contenders. My son definitely likes the creature characters so I think we'll be seeing a lot of Wolf and Mutant. Here's the card that I likely won't post results of until July 5th:
GWF 1/11/2087 (GWF 2087 Show#2) 1. Mutant vs. Massif 2. The Flying Titans (Lord Nexus & Pit Viper) vs. The Evil Ones (Duke of Destruction & Death Knight) ****Duke's Debut**** 3. Beast-Rider vs. Invincible Kraken 4. Exo-King vs. Pulsar 5. The Gladiators of Aethra (Brute & Massacre) vs. Federation Defense Fighters (Star Warrior & Omega) 6. Wolf & Proteus vs. Executioner & Ghengis Khan
