The show opened with a recap of last week’s show. It was announced that Dynamite Kid vs. Fit Finlay in a falls count anywhere match has been added to LWF Legacy of Gold Presents First Strike!

1. Brody & Hansen vs. The Taylors
Brody and Chaz started the match. Chaz tried getting some momentum going but Brody laughed and hit a twisting vertical suplex for a two count. Brody pummeled Chaz and tagged in Hansen. Hansen beat up Chaz on the outside and Chaz was nearly counted out. Hansen hit the Borger Body Slam for the win.

Winners - Brody & Hansen by pinfall

After the match, Brody got on the mic and said he and Hansen would be at First Strike and they’d face any team man enough to show up.

2. Billy Wicks vs. Kenny Jay
Jay gave Wicks some trouble early on. Wicks caught Jay with a waistlock suplex for a two count. Wicks hit three more waistlock suplexes and locked on the double wristlock for the win.

3. Tracy Smothers vs. Tom Prichard
Smothers and Prichard battled back and forth. Smothers rolled up Prichard for a two count after a missed turnbuckle charge. Smothers hit the Jawjacker but Prichard kicked out. Smothers hit another Jawjacker for the win.

4. Chris Candido vs. Ray Stevens
Candido and Stevens battled back and forth. Candido hit a sunset flip for a two count. Candido hit a diving head butt for a two count. Stevens made a comeback and hit the bombs away knee drop for a two count. Stevens hit a jumping knee smash for the win.

5. Monroe & Ware vs. D’Lo & Mark Henry
Sputnik and Henry started the match. Henry dominated Sputnik with his power attack and hit a military press slam for a two count. Sputnik came back and hit the neckbreaker for a two count. Sputnik tagged in Koko. Sputnik and Koko hit the slingshot power slam. Sputnik heaved Henry up and hit a piledriver. Ware held off D’Lo while the referee made the three count.

6. Randy Savage vs. Bob Backlund - winner gets a LWF World Heavyweight title shot at LWF Legacy of Gold Presents First Strike
Savage tore into Backlund and hit a vaulting neck snap for a two count. Backlund made a comeback and locked on the Crossface Chicken WIng but Savage fought his way to the ropes. Savage made a comeback and hit the flying elbow smash but Backlund forced his shoulder up before the three count. Backlund made a comeback but Savage turned the tide with a flying shoulder tackle. Backlund battled back and locked on the Crossface Chicken WIng. Savage tapped out.

The show opened with a recap of last week’s show. Jack Brisco vs. Bob Backlund for the LWF World Heavyweight title has officially been added to the card for LWF Legacy of Gold Presents First Strike. It was announced that tonight’s main event will be Sgt. Slaughter vs. Ilio DiPaolo in a preview for First Strike’s Tag Team title match. Next week’s main event will be The Briscos vs. Bob Backlund & Les Thatcher.

1. Harley Race & Larry Hennig vs. US Express
Race and Windham started the match. Race and Windham battle back and forth. Race gets the upper hand and hits the vertical suplex for a two count. Race hits a second vertical suplex but Rotundo makes the save. Race tags in Hennig. Windham makes a comeback but Hennig cuts the legs out from under him and hits The Axe for a two count. Windham makes the hot tag to Rotondo. Rotundo and Windham hit the double dropkick. Windham tags Rotundo back in. Rotundo hits an atomic drop for a two count. Rotundo hits an elbow drop and covers Hennig. Race breaks the pin with a diving head butt and the referee calls for the bell.

2. Steve Corino vs. Kenny Jay
Jay gave Corino some trouble early on but Corino came back and hit the Old School Expulsion for the win.

It was announced that a rematch between Race & Hennig and the US Express has been signed for LWF Legacy of Gold Presents First Strike!

3. Mad Dog Vachon vs. Tom Prichard
Vachon flattens Prichard and hits the Mad Dog Pounce. Prichard makes a comeback and nails Vachon with an Enzuigiri for a two count. Prichard locks on a sleeper but Vachon escapes the hold. Prichard hits a slingshot suplex for a two count. Prichard hits the Doctor Tom Bomb but Vachon kicks out. Prichard locks on the sleeper but Vachon fights his way to the ropes. Prichard hits another Enzuigiri but still can’t put Vachon away. Vachon makes a comeback but Prichard shuts him down and hits another Enzuigiri for a hard fought win.

4. Mikey & The Mummy vs. Monroe & Ware
Prince Kharis and Koko Ware start the match. Kharis dominates ware and hits the shiniomaki for a near fall. Kharis hits the shiniomaki for another two count and tags in Mikey. Mikey hits the Whipper Snapper for a two count. Whipwreck hits a second Whipper Snapper for the win.

5. Randy Savage vs. Chris Candido
Candido took the fight to Savage at the opening bell. Savage made a comeback and hit a neckbreaker clothesline for a two count. Savage hit a double axe handle on the outside and hit another neckbreaker clothesline for the win.

6. Slaughter vs. DiPaolo
DiPaolo got the upper hand early and hit some big right hands for a two count. Slaughter came back and hit the throat drop on the ropes for a two count. Slaughter hit a backbreaker drop for a two count. Slaughter locked on the Cobra Clutch but DiPaolo escaped the hold. Slaughter and DiPaolo battled back and forth. Slaughter hit a vertical suplex for a two count. Slaughter threw DiPaolo to the outside and nailed him with the Slaughter Cannon. DiPaolo couldn’t beat the count back into the ring and was counted out.

The show opened with a recap of last week’s show and hyped the main event of The Briscos vs. Bob Backlund and Les Thatcher.

1. Red Pepper vs. The Sheepherders
Gomez and Williams started the match. Gomez dominated Williams and hit a wind up punch to the stomach for a two count. Gomez hit the Mexican Cradle for a two count and tagged in Bastien. Williams made a comeback and tagged in Miller. The Sheepherders hit the running knee smash on Bastien for a two count. Batien made the hot tag to Gomez. Gomez hit the Mexican Leap into the Mexican Cradle for the win.

2. Lanny Poffo vs. Ray Stevens
Stevens had the early advantage but Poffo caught him with a sunset flip for a two count. Poffo hit a cross body block for a two count. Poffo hit the sky drop but Stevens got his foot on the ropes. Poffo hit a dropkick but it wasn’t enough to put Stevens away. Stevens made a comeback and hit a jumping knee smash for a two count. Stevens hit a double underhook suplex for the win.

3. 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Tom Prichard
Scorpio took control early on and hit a moonsault for a two count. Scorpio threw Prichard to the outside and hit a breathtaking Asai moonsault. Prichard barely beat the count back into the ring. Prichard ducked a super kick and threw Scorpio to the outside. Scorpio came out on top of a brawl on the floor and hit The Diss That Don’t Miss for the win.

4. Mad Dog Vachon vs. Johnny Mantell
Mantell spent most of the match keeping away from Mad Dog. Mantell rolled out of the ring and Mad Dog came out after him. Mantell smashed Mad Dog with a chair and the referee called for the bell.

5. Magnum TA vs. Steve Corino
Magnum took control early on and nailed Corino with a running forearm for a two count. Corino made a comeback and took the fight to the floor. Corino brained Magnum with a chair and the referee called for the bell.

Backlund back in. Backlund clamped on the Crossface Chicken Wing and Brisco tapped out.

Mantell endured a beating and hit the Texas Tumbleweed for a near fall. Scorpio regained control and hit the flip leg drop for a two count.Scorpio hit the handspring kick for a two count. Scorpio nailed Mantell with another handspring kick for a two count. Mantell made a comeback and hit the Russian Leg Sweep for a two count. Mantell hit a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Scorpio made a comeback and hit the tumbleweed. Scorpio hit the Diss That Don’t Miss for the win.

2. Race & Hennig vs. US Express
Hennig and Rotundo started the match. Hennig and Rotundo battled back and forth. Rotundo rolled Hennig up with a small package for a two count . Windham and Rotundo hit a double dropkick. Windham scooped Hennig up for a powerslam for a two count. Hennig made a comeback and drilled Rotundo with a double forearm hammer for a two count. Hennig tagged Race in. Race punished Rotundo but made no attempt to cover him. Rotundo made a comeback and hit a dropkick for a two count. Rotundo tagged in Windham. Windham and Race battled on the outside. Windham backdropped Race into the front row and the referee called for the bell.

3. Randy Savage vs. Ray Stevens
Stevens attacked the Macho Man before the bell. Stevens planted Macho Man with a double underhook suplex and hit the Bombs Away knee drop for a two count. Savage made a comeback and hit the double axle handle for a near fall. Savage went to the top but Stevens threw him to the mat. Stevens hit a flying body press from the top for a two count. Savage caught Stevens with a small package for a two count. Savage hit the vaulting neck snap for the win.

4. Dynamite Kid vs. Fit Finlay - Falls Count Anywhere
Dynamite attacked FInlay from behind as he was coming down the aisle and hit the tombstone for the win.

5. Antonio Inoki vs. Billy Wicks
Inoki and Wicks grappled back and forth. Inoki hit a diving knee drop for a two count. Wicks made a comeback and locked on the abdominal stretch but Inoki escaped the hold. Wicks hit a bulldog for a near fall. Inoki made a comeback but Wicks caught him with a sleeper, wearing him down. Wicks locked on the sleeper a second time but Inoki escaped the hold. Inoki made a comeback and drilled Wicks with the Enzuigiri for the win.

Winner - Antonio Inoki by pinfall

The crowd gave Wicks a standing ovation as he left the ring area. He waved to the crowd and said he’d be back.

6. Sgt. Slaughter & Don Kernodle vs. Ilio DiPaolo & Red Lyons - Tag Team title match
Lyons and Slaughter started the match. Lyons had the early advantage but Slaughter turned things around and hit the backbreaker drop for a two count. Slaughter tagged in Kernodle and Kernodle hit the top rope clothesline for a two count. Kernodle hit a second top rope clothesline for a near fall. Lyons made a comeback and tagged in DiPaolo. DiPaolo locked on the body scissors. Lyons held off Slaughter and Kernodle tapped out!

Winners - Ilio DiPaolo & Red Lyons by submission! DiPaolo & Lyons are the new tag team champions!

The referee handed DiPaolo and Lyons the belts and Brody & Hansen came out of nowhere and attacked the new champs from behind! Brody and Hansen laid out the new champs and went to work on Slaughter and Kernodle until security and local law enforcement swarmed the ring.

7. Jack Brisco Vs. Bob Backlund - LWF World Heavyweight title match
Brisco and Backlund battled back and forth. Brisco whipped Backlund to the buckles. Backland nailed Brisco with a lariat and covered him for the three count.

Winner - Bob Backlund by pinfall! Bob Backlund is the new LWF World Heavyweight champion!

Brisco handed Backlund the World Heavyweight championship belt and said he wanted a rematch. Backlund nodded in agreement.

As the scaffold was erected for the final match, Gary Michael Cappetta warned parents and the elderly to leave now.

8. The Fabulous Ones vs. Rich & Gilbert - scaffold match
Both teams were hesitant to climb the scaffold. Lane and Gilbert reached the top first and the match was on. Keirn and Rich eventually made their way up and battled as well. Lane got the advantage and body slammed Gilbert on the scaffold. Gilbert rolled away and climbed under the scaffold. Lane went after him and they fought under the scaffold. Neither man fell and they eventually made their way back to the top.

Rich and Keirn brawled closer to the edge. Keirn wound up and drilled Rich with the Fabulous Forearm. Rich plunged off the scaffold and landed awkwardly. He had to be helped to the back.

Lane nailed Gilbert with the Savate Kick but Gilbert clung to the edge of the scaffold for dear life. Keirn pulled him up by the hair and the Fabs hit the double DDT. Gilbert was down but not out. Keirn hit a hot shot and booted Gilbert as he got to his feet. Gilbert fell off the scaffold. Gilbert had to be helped to the back.

Winners - The Fabulous Ones!


LWF Legacy of Gold is officially on hiatus until the next set drops. In the mean time, tune into some great USA Wrestling action!

I was planning on Legacy of Gold going on hiatus until the next set anyway but both belts changing hands clinched it.

Definitely going to need a no disqualifications match between Race and Hennig and the Windham and Rotunda when you come back from hiatus.
