Nice to see the Bombers are elevating the prestige level of the tag belts... A healthy run has a tendency to accomplish this... Looking forward to the upcoming top contenders match, but I don't think Garea & Zbyszko or Fuji & Saito will be able to defeat the current champs. Backlund is absolutely killing it... Too bad his memorable title reign is about to come to an end... OHHH, YEAH! Whoever does finally beat Backlund is going to have some big shoes to fill.

LWF Legacy of Gold 3.46 Jesse Ventura and Gordon Solie welcome the fans to show and hype the main event of Bob Backlund vs. Randy Savage for the LWF World Heavyweight title. Ventura introduces the first match.
1. Mulligan & Hennig Vs. McCord & Kernodle Hennig and Kernodle start the match. Kernodle monkey fips Hennig and Hennig bounces back and nails Kernodle with the Axe. Mulligan boots McCord off the apron and Hennig covers Kernodle for the win.
Winners - Mulligan & Hennig by pinfall
Solie says Mulligan & Hennig are back in the hunt. Ventura introduces the next match.
2. Don Muraco vs. Mr X Muraco squashes Mr X and hits the Hawaiian Hammer for the win.
Winner - Don Muraco by pinfall
Muraco grabs the mic after the match and tells Piper he’ll wrestle him next week if Piper isn’t too busy picking out new dresses. The show goes to commercial. When it returns, the Iron Sheik is taking it to Johnny Rodz.
3. Iron Sheik vs. Johnny Rodz The Iron Sheik suplexes Rodz all over the ring and hits a sidewinder suplex for a two count. Sheik locks on the Camel Clutch and Rodz taps out.
Winner - The Iron Sheik by submission
The Iron Sheik takes his time leaving the ring area and comes face to face with Sgt Slaughter. Sheik spits in Slaughter’s face and the two men duke it out. Eric the Red, Slaughter’s opponent, attacks him from behind and rolls him into the ring.
4. Sgt Slaughter vs. Eric the Red Eric works Slaughter over. Slaughter makes a comeback and locks on the Cobra Clutch but Eric makes it to the ropes. Slaughter punishes Eric and hits the Slaughter Cannon for a two count. Slaughter hits another Slaughter Cannon for a two count. Slaughter locks on the Cobra Clutch and Eric taps out.
Winner - Sgt Slaughter by submission
Solie leaves the booth to get a word with Sarge. Slaughter says the Iron Sheik disrespected him and disrespected America and wants him in the ring as soon as it can be arranged. Solie returns to the booth and Ventura introduces the next match.
5. Fuji & Saito Vs. Garea & Zbyszko - to determine who gets a title shot next week Fuji and Garea start the match. Fuji and Garea battle back and forth. Garea gets some momentum going and tags in Zbsyzko. Zbyszko hits the vertical suplex for a two count. Zbsyzko hits two more vertical suplexes and covers Fuji but Saito distracts the referee. Zbyszko tags in Garea. Garea locks on the Abdominal Stretch. Zbyszko takes out Saito and Fuji taps out.
Winners - Garea & Zbsyzko! Garea & Zbyszko will wrestle the Blond Bombers for the LWF World Tag Team titles next week!
Solie and Ventura introduce the main event.
6. Bob Backlund vs. Randy Savage - LWF World Heavyweight title match Savage tears into Backlund like he does everyone else but the champion remains calm. Backlund catches Savage with a small package for a two count. Backlund and Savage battle back and forth. Savage rolls up Backlund with a small package for a two count to turn things around. Savage hits the flying elbow smash but Backlund gets his foot on the ropes before the three count. Savage goes to the top for another flying elbow smash but Backlund was playing possum! Backlund throws him to the mat. Backlund can’t follow up on it and Savage takes him apart. Savage hits another top rope elbow smash but it’s not enough to put Backlund away. Savage goes to the top and Backlund again throws him to the mat. Backlund locks on the crossface chickenwing in the middle of the ring. Savage can’t escape and taps out.
Winner - Bob Backlund by submission, his thirteenth title defense
Ventura and Solie sign off, telling the fans to tune in next time when the Blond Bombers defend the gold against Tony Garea & Larry Zbyszko!

LWF Legacy of Gold 3.47 Ventura and Solie welcome the fans to the show and plug the main event of The Blond Bombers vs. Garea and Zbyszko for the LWF World Tag Team titles plus Roddy Piper vs. Don Muraco. Ventura introduces the next match.
1. Red Pepper vs. Rose & Somers Bastien and Somers start the match. Bastien lights Somers up and Somers almost gets himself counted out but Rose convinces him to return to the ring. Bastien tags in Gomez. Gomez hits the Mexican Leap for the win.
Winners - Red Pepper by pinfall
Ventura says Red Pepper needed that win. Solie leaves the booth to get a word with Konnan. Konnan is telling Solie about setting his sights on the LWF World Heavyweight when Keith Steinborn sneak attacks him! Solie flees the scene and the referee rings the bell.
2. Konnan vs. Keith Steinborn Konnan fights from underneath and hits a sidewalk slam for a two count. Konnan hits the Niagara Driver for the win.
Winner - Konnan by pinfall
Solie says Konnan showed tremendous heart. Ventura introduces the next match.
3. Frank Gotch vs. Rock Riddle Riddle gets the upper hand and whips Gotch to the buckles. Gotch elbows Riddle in the face and locks on the Gotch Toehold for the win.

Gotch gets on the mic and says he would have beaten Bob Backlund if he were in Randy Savage’s spot last week. Savage comes out and gets in Gotch’s face. Solie says to settle it in the ring. The show goes to commercial. When it returns, the participants for the next match are in the ring.
4. Jim Brunzell vs. Lord Zoltan Brunzell armdrags Zoltan to the mat. Zoltan gets to his feet and eats the High Flying Dropkick for a two count. Brunzell hits two more high flying dropkicks for the win.
Winner - Jim Brunzell by pinfall
Solie says Brunzell is moving up the ranks and reminds the viewers that he defeated Randy Savage a few weeks ago. Ventura introduces the main event.
5. Roddy Piper vs. Don Muraco Piper and Muraco light each other up. Muraco hits the Asiatic Spike, bringing him to his knees. Muraco hoists Piper up in the over the shoulder backbreaker, wearing him down. Piper fights back and hits the running double sledge for a two count. Muraco turns things around and hits the Hawaiian Hammer for the win.
Winner - Don Muraco by pinfall
Ventura says Muraco is moving up the ranks quickly. Solie introduces the main event.
6. Blond Bombers vs. Garea & Zbyszko - LWF World Tag Team title match Patterson and Garea start the match. Patterson takes Garea to the mat and hits the Bombs Away knee drop for a two count. Garea tags in Zbyszko. Patterson and Zbsyzko brawl outside the ring and Zbyszko gets the advantage. Zbyszko goes to the top and Patterson throws him to the mat. Patterson hits the bombs away for a two count and tags in Stevens. Stevens hits the crippling piledriver for a two count. Stevens hits the bombs away and tags in Patterson. Patterson throws Zbsyzko out of the ring and Zbsyzko slams him into the ringpost and rolls him back in. Zbyszko goes to the top and Patterson shoves him to the mat. Zbyszko makes a desperation tag to Tony Garea. Garea takes the fight to Patterson and hits the Thesz Press for a two count. Garea clamps on the abdominal stretch and Zbsyzko dropkicks Stevens off the apron. Patterson taps out! Patterson taps out!

LWF Legacy of Gold 3.48 Ventura and Solie welcome the fans to the show. They hype the double main event of Sgt Slaughter vs. The Iron Sheik and Bob Backlund vs. Harley Race for the LWF World Heavyweight title. They also announce that Ray Stevens will be taking some time off to deal with a personal matter so the Blond Bombers’ return match will have to wait. Ventura introduces the first match.
1. Lyons & Destroyer vs. Rose & Somers The Destroyer works over Buddy Rose and scores near falls with the handstand knee drop and the Bombs Away. Destroyer tags in Lyons. Lyons locks on the figure four but Rose escapes the hold. Lyons locks on the figure four a second time and Rose taps out.
Winners - Lyons & Destroyer by submission
Solie says Lyons & Destroyer are on their way back up the ladder. Ventura introduces the next match.
2. Konnan vs. Lord Zoltan Zoltan sneak attacks Konnan at the opening bell. Konnan turns things around and hits a Niagara Driver for a two count. Zoltan turns things around and locks on the triangle death grip but Konnan escapes the hold. Zoltan hits a running knee drop but Konnan gets his foot on the ropes before the three count. Zoltan nails Konnan with a foreign object and covers him but Konnan gets his shoulder up at the last second. Konnan and Zoltan battle back and forth. Konnan hits the Niagara driver for the win.
Winner - Konnan by pinfall
Ventura says Zoltan really made Konnan work for that victory. Solie introduces the next match.
3. Brian Blair vs. Rock Riddle Riddle gets the early advantage but Blair turns things around and hits the lateral guillotine for a two count. Riddle turns things around but Blair dodges a turnbuckle charge and rolls him up for a two count. Blair locks on the cobra clutch and Riddle taps out.
Winner - Brian Blair by submission
Solie leaves the booth to get a word with Larry Hennig and Blackjack Mulligan before their match. Mulligan starts talking and Big John Studd and Masked Superstar crash the interview. The two teams battle into the crowd and the referee gives them to the count to twenty to return to the ring. The crowd counts along and both teams are counted out.
4. Hennig & Mulligan vs. Studd & Superstar Winners - No Contest
Gordon leaves the booth to get a word with the Iron Sheik before the next match. The Iron Sheik launches a profanity laced tirade that mostly gets bleeped out and heads to his corner.
5. Sgt Slaughter vs. The Iron Sheik The Iron Sheik attacks Slaughter before the bell and takes him to the mat. The Sheik drills Sarge with the loaded boot and hits a vertical suplex for a two count. The Iron Sheik tortures Slaughter and hits a sidewinder suplex for a two count. The Iron Sheik nails Slaughter again with the loaded boot and continues torturing the patriot. Sarge makes a short lived comeback and winds up on his back outside the ring. The Iron Sheik nails Sarge again with the loaded boot, busting him open. Slaughter takes his boot off and clobbers the Iron Sheik with it. Sarge drops The Iron Sheik throat first on the rope. Sarge beats up the Iron Sheik outside the ring. The Sheik tries a comeback but Sarge is soon back in control. Sarge locks on the Cobra Clutch but the Iron Sheik is able to grab the ropes. Sarge locks on the Cobra Clutch again but can’t keep the Sheik away from the ropes. Sarge slams the Iron Sheik against the rails outside the ring and gets a warning from the referee. Sarge throws Iron Sheik into the ring and clamps on the Cobra Clutch for a third time but the Sheik escapes the hold! The Iron Sheik makes a comeback and nails Sarge with the loaded boot again. The Iron Sheik nails Sarge with the loaded boot again and locks on the Camel Clutch. Sarge is unresponsive and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner - Iron Sheik by referee stoppage
Ventura and Solie are worn out from the previous match but introduce the main event.
6. Backlund Vs. Race - LWF World Heavyweight title match Race dominates Backlund early on but Backlund hits the rolling back bridge for a two count. Race recovers but can’t get any momentum going. Backlund hits a delayed vertical suplex for a two count. Race makes a comeback and scores a two count with a vertical suplex. Race hits a diving head butt but Backlund kicks out. Race and Backlund battle back and forth. The match ends up out on the floor and Race nails Backlund with a chair and rolls him back into the ring. Backlund blocks a superplex and hits a rolling back bridge for a two count. Race regains control and whips Backlund to the buckles. Backlund dodges Race and rolls him up for a two count. Race pops up and walks right into the crossface chickenwing. Race can’t escape and taps out.
Winner - Bob Backlund by submission, his fourteenth title defense
As Backlund celebrates in the ring, Antonio Inoki comes down to ringside and challenges him to a match for the LWF World Heavyweight championship. Backlund accepts and shakes Inoki’s hand.

1. The Fabulous Ones vs. The Mulkeys Lane and Randy start the match. Lane knocks Randy out of his boots with a clothesline and the Fabs hit the Double DDT for the win.

After the match, The Texas Hangmen come out of the crowd and attack the Fabs until security arrives. Ventura reminds the audience that the Fabs stole the Hangmens’ gear a few weeks ago. While security restores order, Solie meets Jack Brisco in the entranceway for a word. Jack says he’s going solo and winning his title back as soon as he gets a shot. Jack takes his corner and waits for the bell.
2. Jack Brisco vs. Keith Steinborn Brisco puts Steinborn on his back with a double leg takedown several seconds into the match. Steinborn staggers to his feet and Brisco hits the rolling reverse cradle for the win.
Winner - Jack Brisco by pinfall
Solive leaves the booth to get a word with Don Muraco. Muraco says Jack Brisco can save them both the trouble and forfeit now because he’ll never beat the Magnificent One. Jack Brisco makes his way toward the ring but Ranger Ross, Muraco’s opponent, attacks him from behind.
3. Ranger Ross vs. Don Muraco Ranger Ross has all the momentum in the world and puts the boots to Muraco. Muraco recovers and drops him throat first on the top rope. Muraco hoists Ross up and hits the Hawaiian Hammer for the win.
Winner - Don Muraco by pinfall
Ventura says the LWF booking committee better sign Brisco vs. Muraco soon. Solie introduces the next match.
4. Pat Patterson vs. Brian Blair Patterson takes Blair to the mat and wears him down with the Boston Crab. Patterson hits the Bombs Away for the win.

Ventura says Patterson will make a fine LWF champion one day. Solie introduces the next match.
5. Randy Savage vs. Frank Gotch Gotch takes control at the opening bell but he has trouble with Savage’s unorthodox style. Savage goes to the top but Gotch throws him to the mat. Gotch wears Savage down with the reverse nelson but Savage is soon back on the attack. Savage plants Gotch with a neckbreaker clothesline and hits the flying elbow smash for the win.
Winner - Randy Savage by pinfall
Ventura puts over the Macho Man. Solie introduces the main event.
6. Hennig & Mulligan vs. Studd & Superstar - Falls Count anywhere Hennig and Studd start the match. Studd wears Hennig down with a backbreaker and tags in Superstar. Superstar hits the swinging neckbreaker for a two count and tags in Studd. Hennig rolls out of the ring and he and Studd battle into the crowd. Studd body slams Hennig on the concrete for a two count. Studd hits a double arm suplex and pulls Hennig up by the hair but Hennig smashes him with a chair and covers him for a two count. Hennig slams Studd into the steps and manhandles him back into the ring. Hennig tags Mulligan and Mulligan nails Studd with a knee to the gut for a two count. Blackjack locks on the Blackjack Claw but Studd is able to grab the ropes. Blackjack throws Studd to the outside. Studd makes a comeback and body slams Mulligan on a chair and covers him for a two count. Studd body slams Mulligan on teh concrete and covers him for a two count. Mulligan makes a comeback and locks on the claw! Hennig and Superstar are brawling in the aisle and can’t interfere. Studd taps out.
Winners - Hennig & Mulligan by submission
Ventura and Solie sign off, telling the fans to tune in next week for Bob Backlund vs. Antonio Inoki with the LWF World Heavyweight title on the line!

Backlund continues to roll. It's too early to talk about him catching up with Vader's 34 defense reign but I'm absolutely doing Backlund vs. Vader at some point.
