All of a sudden he's requiring more attention than ever, wearing expensive outfits, changing the name of his tag team with Mr. Galaxy to Stud City, and introducing a new finisher named LADIES CHOICE! How is Sweet Thing involved with LADIES CHOICE? Will Sweet Thing remain loyal to Vanity in 2093? It's Stud City versus the Savage Ones in one of the most intense undercard feuds in GWF history! Lol. Oh man. That is flamboyantly fantastic. I'm digging this set.... But it all hinges on Astro Turk and Black Hole Bart. If they suck, I riot.... Don't know how effective a one-man riot will be, but I will grab a pool noodle and swing for the fences.... Maybe,. My back is kind of wonky. I'll probably just bitch on Instagram like a good little troll... To which no one will care...damn it..(crossing fingers and toes.)

First of all, with much love, nostalgia, and respect do I leave these comments.
But...
So many classic looks for characters have been re-imagined/redesigned and US Patriot and Vanity keep THOSE looks intact?!? Don't get me wrong, the drawings are fantastic. I especially like Patriot, but I hated the outfit designs even back then. We could--or I could-- do an entire post about Chuck being as great an artist as he was a horrendous fashion designer (wide leather belts with giant buckles and baggy pants with thick vertical stripes for ALL my merry men!), but I won't. Yet. Maybe.
I'm just saying, imagine Patriot with a lower neckline, forearm bracers instead of gloves, and make that one piece sleeveless.
Vanity: First of all, MUCH CREDIT for losing the trademark Chuck Carter thick vertical stripes on the outfit. I love the piping Werner has running down the side of the outfit, but I'd like it better in a contrasting color and I'd definitely lose those buttons. Overall that one is a winner just based on the strength of the drawing and the pose.

Vanity is solid, but the hair and shades look a little too much like Main Event from 2123. Perhaps Hector was inspired by Vanity?

Banks probably didn't know a thing about that card art, but Werner's Vanity in this drawing is a direct interpretation of the hair and sunglasses of the original. |
