It was an odd evening as my drunk father-in-law wouldn't shut up for 5 seconds to take a breath. It was like dealing with a toddler, LOL. Kind of hard to enjoy the moment. I enjoyed the Ohio State and Alabama wins much more, as weird as that sounds. Plus, I have no beef with Washington. I felt bad for Penix Jr. But, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!! Long time coming, and this time we share it with NO ONE!!! THOSE WHO STAY. OK, back to more Lions/Stafford drama, LOL. What you say makes a lot of sense. The experience of watching can effect the enjoyment. I'd rather watch a game alone then with a chatty Cathy.

So, the coach of the team we beat for the National Championship is moving to the team we beat in the semifinals. I guess he thought the SEC would be easier than coaching in the Big Ten.

I missed it yesterday, but Michigan officially made Sherrone Moore their new HC. That was the right decision. GO BLUE, HAIL TO THE VICTORS

This is basketball related but no thread it would fit in elsewhere and not starting a new one for it.
Michigan fired Juwan Howard. I am not surprised. I thought due to his heart issues this year they might give him one more full season to see if he could turn things around, but they saw the ship sinking. This is a cautionary tale of avoiding the early hype. When they first signed him, I was happy and excited. After the first year based on their record and the recruiting he was doing I thought he would be around a long time, and I thought he was amazing. The wheels fell off that bus real quick. I think part of the problem was nepotism. Not that he had his sons on the team, I thought that was cool, but I think he might have pushed them at the expense of other players. Hopefully we sign a good coach who can start the rebuild fast. While I would love a national title of course I would just be happy being a team in the top 2 or 3 of the conference each year, which will be harder with the Pac teams coming in, and making the Sweet 16 of the tournament on the regular.

Michigan may not be in the tourney but a Michigan team, Oakland, just upset Kentucky. Woo woo. Go Golden Grizzlies. If I had been more aggressive in my post high school education I might have gone to Oakland.

The Michigan women were knocked out of the tourney. They had a 9-point lead going into the 4th quarter and were up 10 with 7 minutes and change left. They were given the Pistons treatment when it comes to foul calls. Michigan was 8-10 from the free throw line while Kansas was 19-24. The game went to OT and I am sure a few fouls were at the end of OT to try and give Michigan a chance but when attempts are more than 2-1 I feel like the game was not called down the middle.

Michigan signed FAU head coach Dusty May to be our next head basketball coach. Looks like a good signing to me.

Yep. With good reason. He really turned FAU around. Hopefully he can get the Wolverines competitive again in a couple years.

Of all the talk of upsets in March Madness, and we had a few even this year, 75% of the teams to make the Sweet 16 were the favored based on seating. Each of the four regions had 3 of the top 4 seeds advance and only one lower seed team. Those four lower seed teams are 5,5,6 and 11. Beyond the Kentucky loss there have not really been any big upsets this year. If NC State keeps going, and they really could, that would be the only "Cinderella" team this year.
