Colt Cabana defeated Matt Cross via Colt .45
Fatigue: Cabana 2
Match Notes: Matt Cross had this match well in hand with his aerial offense. A couple of standing shooting star press and Colt was almost done. However, the wily veteran that he is, Colt waited for Cross to climb the turnbuckle and proceeded to throw him down to the mat. Cross was then easy pickings for a Colt .45 giving Colt Cabana the win.
“The Phenominal” AJ Styles defeated Jigsaw via Styles Clash
Fatigue: Jigsaw 2
Match Notes: The Phenomenal One was never in trouble in this match. AJ used his striking offense to keep Jigsaw guessing, which ultimately led to Styles hitting his Styles Clash for the win.
Post Match Interview: AJ Styles
Chad Olson welcomes The Phenomenal One to AIW. AJ Styles says that it is great to be in Cleveland, and the he is here to make AIW “Phenomenal! Johnny Gargano makes his presence known by welcoming AJ Styles to AIW, and telling him that while he is Phenomenal, he is not The Whole Shebang! AJ responds that he is Phenomenal where ever he goes, and is not just the hero of one city! Johnny Gargano tried to laugh it off, but then throws a pinch at Styles. Styles and Gargano start to brawl, until security arrives to break them apart. As things seem calm, AJ rushes past security and hit Gargano with a Phenomenal Forearm, and tells Gargano that he will beat him anyplace and anytime, and will be the new face of AIW! Security the forcefully gets Styles and Gargano out of the area.
To Infinity and Beyond defeated Homeless Handicapped Connection via Lungblower
Fatigue: Hobo Joe 1
Match Notes: Cheech and Delaney were very successful in isolating Hobo Joe from his partner, Gregory Iron in this match. Quick tags kept the members of To Infinity and Beyond fresh as Hobo Joe was being worn out. Gregory Iron made some save to keep his team in the match, but was ultimately out of position when Colon Delaney hit Hobo Joe with the Lungblower for the win.
EC3 defeated Drake Younger via DQ
Fatigue: EC3 1
Match Notes: This match started off great and then took a turn for the worst. After EC3 hit Drake Younger with a low blow, Younger had enough. He took the match outside the ring and then it got violent. Younger would hit EC3 with a chair, and referee Tom Dunn let it go. However, Younger wanted to punish EC3 some more and took a light tube from under the ring and broke it across the back of EC3. Tom Dunn immediately called for the bell, DQing Drake Younger. EC3 writhed in pain as the medical team checked on him, and Drake Younger just shrugged his shoulders with a smirk on his face.
Eddie Kingston defeated Rickey Shane Page and PB Smooth via Sliding D
Fatigue: Kingston 4: Page 5: Smooth 5
Match Notes: This triple threat match almost stole the entire show. In the early going, Rickey Shane Page and PB Smooth kept Kingston from getting involved. As the match wore on and Page and Smooth were wearing down, Kingston got back into the match. A series of Rolling Elbows from Page almost won him the match, but Kingston was always aware to break up the pinfalls. PB Smooth tried to take Kingston out, but Kingston was able to dump him from the ring. This left Rickey Shane Page vulnerable to a Sliding D from Kingston, and “The Mad King” got the win.
Post Match Video: Kings of Wrestling
A video package is played showing Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli defeating various unnamed tag teams. The video then says that AIW needs stars, and there are no brighter stars than the Kings of Wrestling! AS KINGS REIGN SUPREME! The video ends with Kings of Wrestling debuting in AIW at the next show!
“The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated DJZ via Angel’s Wings
Fatigue: DJZ 6: Christopher Daniels 3
Match Notes: This was the match of the night! Both men pulled out all the stops in this one. DJZ had Daniels in trouble but he could not hit his ZDT. Daniels was always ready for when it was coming. The Fallen Angel was able to wear down DJZ with some Last Rites and a couple best moonsaults ever. As the match came to its close, Daniels was able to connect with Angel’s Wings and DJZ was done giving The Fallen Angel the win. After the bell, three hooded men entered the ring and attacked Christopher Daniels. DJZ recovered and was directing the men! The beat down Daniels in an unrelenting manner, and their assault culminated in putting Daniels through the announcer’s table. DJZ and the three hooded men then left through the crowd, as security and medical came out. Christopher Daniels was stretchered to the back.
6 Man Gauntlet Match
Necro Butcher defeated Vin Gerard, Dick Justice, Davey Vega, Bill Taylor, and Sami Callihan via Choose Death
Fatigue: Gerrard 4: Vega 4: Callihan 3
Match Notes: Vin Gerard and Dick Justice started the match. Justice had Gerard in trouble early, but Gerard would not give up. Gerard was able to catch an unsuspecting Justice with a running high knee, plus a handful of tights to eliminate Justice. Next out was Davey Vega, and he was able to eliminate Gerard in quick order with a super hurricanrana. Next out was Sami Callihan, and these two went to war! Inside the ring, outside the ring these men went everywhere. Referee, Tom Dunn, gave these two leniency as they brutalized one another. It almost looked over as Vega was caught in Callihan’s Stretch Muffler. However, Vega was able to get to the ropes, which caused Callihan to get angry and lose focus. This allowed Vega to hit a deep german suplex to eliminate Callihan! Davey Vega was exhausted at this point, and it showed as Bill Taylor the next entrant was able to eliminate Vega with a pendulum backbreaker. The fans gave Davey Vega a great ovation on his performance in the gauntlet. Last out was Necro Butcher. Butcher just punished Taylor like a cat toying with a mouse. Necro Butcher softened up Taylor with a chair assisted body slam, and then crushed him with Choose Death. Taylor was out, and Necro Butcher wins the gauntlet match.
Path of Resistance defeated Kung Fu Manchu via T-Bone Suplex
Fatigue: Josh Prohibition 1
Match Notes: Path of Resistance, the team of Josh Prohibition and Raymond Rowe totally dominated their opponents in the team of Marion Fontaine and Louis Lyndon, Kung Fu Manchu! Fontaine was isolated from his corner, and the power of Rowe was too much for Fontaine to handle. A T-Bone Suplex ended Fontaine, as Prohibition tangled up Lyndon from making the save.
Johnny Gargano defeated Eric Ryan via Gargano Escape +2
Fatigue: Johnny Gargano 3
Match Notes: Eric Ryan controlled the early going of the match. He punished Gargano and made liberal use of the ringposts and guardrails to wear Gargano down. Gargano to his credit would not quick, and quickly turned the tide on Ryan. Gargano locked Ryan in the crosston crab. Ryan was able to break the hold, but it took alot out of him. Gargano then went on a roll, which saw him hit Ryan with a hurts donut before being able to apply his Gargano Escape. Ryan fought, but he faded and passed out in the Gargano Escape, giving Johnny Gargano the win. After the bell, AJ Styles came out and just shook his head at Gargano while giving him the golf clap. Johnny Gargano dared Styles to get into the ring, but Styles held his hands up telling Gargano to take it easy. Before it can escalate, AIW President Matt Wadsworth comes out and informs everyone that at the next show, “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles will take on “The Whole Shebang” Johnny Gargano and the winner will be crowned the Inaugural AIW Absolute Champion! The fans roar with approval, as both Styles and Gargano jaw jack at one another as the show ends!
