So….the last couple of months, I have been quite busy. I applied for a new job, and all the pre-employment things took up quite a bit of my time, focus and energy. I eventually made it through all of that to get the job, and almost 2 weeks ago, on the 24th of October, I headed out to Chicago for orientation. Last Friday was my first day on the actual job (Monday - Thursday was traveling and orientation).
This is something I am quite proud of, to be honest. I worked at Clemens Food Group for almost 5 1/2 years. Clemens is a hog processing plant in Coldwater, MI, one of the largest in the country (and maybe the world). They have a plant in Hatfield, PA, and this one In Coldwater was opened up about 5 years ago. We were told over and over again that we were “feeding America and the world”.
Now? I am “protecting America and the world” as a Food Inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This position in this agency is an accomplishment that I take pride in. I actually even took the oath to defend the constitution. An oath I take very seriously.
Anyways, I have been away from the game for a couple of months or so because of getting into this new job. I have missed out on a couple of things, but hopefully will be able to get back into the game.
This was just something I wanted to share with you all, as I am excited for this new start.
