That's a great idea. I may actually use that idea. Make's it more fun, and some matches last longer. To build on that, due to the shoot nature of this game, DQs can just ruin a match. One option is you could have a limit per wrestler. Like 3 strikes you are out kind of thing. Again, it is up to you! I like that idea too! I may start using that. Third successful DQ roll will result in a DQ, first two will just be illegal moves/chair shots that the ref didn't see.

I've done the three pin rolls for Texas Death matches. Might be interesting to do it in regular matches but could also really drag them out. It's a tough decision.

Rolling three times for PIN is something I really like... Theoretically... It really has the potential to add a lot of excitement and suspense to a match... However, I have tried it and practically it doesn't work for me... Simply causes too many matches to run too long.

Not to derail the thread, but I would like to know how other promoters handle tag matches. Those are the matches that drag on for me. How often are you tagging? Are you only trying defensive tags when the (tag) comes up on a roll? I'm curious myself, but I'm sure our new promoter might find it helpful too!

It's like playing Strat baseball and requiring 3 straight K rolls for a strikeout or 4 straight BB rolls for a walk. As a practical matter, nobody will ever whiff or take a base on balls. It's everyone's game to play as they choose, but there's no getting around the laws of probability.

I won't disagree with anybody on their experience, but I haven't had singles matches drag on with the 3 rolls myself. Then again I roll pretty quick, I'm reading the results, but I'm not sitting back and kind of painting the picture of the match in my head (if that makes sense). Or maybe I just have a different idea of what is "long." Most of my matches take 5-10 minutes to roll. Some can go longer. What is the average for you guys?
EDIT: This is with advanced rules. I just had too many matches finish quickly with the one roll. Again not arguing or defending the way I play, but I'm curious how much time it takes other promoters to run a match card or just a single match.

Don't EVER feel like you should have to defend the way you play... It's your game and the only right way to play IS your way... I just love these kinds of discussions -- Hearing how our fellow promoters play... The little intricacies that make each person's experience a little bit special... It's awesome!

He needs to counter a move and get back on offense first before he can tag in his partner.

that's rough. Kills guys who are great at tagging out. What I do that's similar while being different is if you do reverse, you have to hit at least one offensive move before you tag.

I forget if it was one of the Butchers or maybe Travis, but somebody used a rule where you could only attempt a defensive tag for as many (tag)s a team had together. So if a team had 5 (tag) options between them, they got 5 tries per match. Still gives plenty of opportunity for tag-minded guys but it does put a cap on it.
Some people have also changed the target number based on whether the (tag) is on a dazed, hurt, or down.
