I like a combo of those. Combine the (tag) on each card and use those as defensive tags. When out of them or not wishing to use one make sure the defensive wrestler gets a reverse and has one successful offensive move. I typically try to let the guys try and tag out every 5-7 rolls, but it's hard to keep track when I'm keeping track of everything else.

I forget if it was one of the Butchers or maybe Travis, but somebody used a rule where you could only attempt a defensive tag for as many (tag)s a team had together. So if a team had 5 (tag) options between them, they got 5 tries per match. Still gives plenty of opportunity for tag-minded guys but it does put a cap on it. Some people have also changed the target number based on whether the (tag) is on a dazed, hurt, or down. I heard it at a CGcon virtual event a couple years back and it's an excellent rule.

that's rough. Kills guys who are great at tagging out. What I do that's similar while being different is if you do reverse, you have to hit at least one offensive move before you tag. Fair point. I guess I do it that way in order to make it more of a challenge for the participants. Plus, in real life wrestling when a guy is getting his ass kicked in the ring he usually needs to pull off some kind of counter in order to make the hot tag. I guess that was inspiration for my format too.

Some people have also changed the target number based on whether the (tag) is on a dazed, hurt, or down. This is another house rule I've adopted... Defensive tags work on a roll of 7 or lower when the defensive wrestler is dazed... 6 or lower when wrestler is hurt... And 5 or lower when the wrestler is down.

Thank you all for the replies and suggestions! I also forgot to ask if any of the following wrestlers are available in a pack as I didn’t see them on a roster? Kamala the Ugandan Giant Hulk Hogan Ric Flair Ricky Steamboat The Junkyard Dog Ron Garvin Ron Wright Ron Fuller (Tennessee Stud) I’ve subscribed to the YouTube channel and checking that out now. Not officially, but there are high quality bootlegs of all of those guys, except Ron Wright (but I could be wrong about him).

Defensive tags work on a roll of 7 or lower when the defensive wrestler is dazed... 6 or lower when wrestler is hurt... And 5 or lower when the wrestler is down. Here are the tag team rules I use. Team RegularlyDT Rating: 0 Pin Saves: 2 Double Teams: 3 L1D Tag Out: 2-6 L2D Tag Out: 2-5 L3D Tag Out: 2-4 Team OccasionallyDT Rating: +1 Pin Saves: 2 Double Teams: 3 L1D Tag Out: 2-5 L2D Tag Out: 2-4 L3D Tag Out: 2-3 Team RarelyDT Rating: +2 Pin Saves: 1 Double Teams: 3 L1D Tag Out: 2-5 L2D Tag Out: 2-4 L3D Tag Out: 2-3 Team NeverDT Rating: +3 Pin Saves: 1 Double Teams: 3 L1D Tag Out: 2-4 L2D Tag Out: 2-3 L3D Tag Out: 2 6 & 8-Man TeamDT Rating: Depends on partners attempting the move (see above) Pin Saves: 3 Double Teams: 4 Tag Out: Roll to determine partner attempting to tag in. Range depends on that partner (see above) 10+-Man TeamDT Rating: Depends on partners attempting the move (see above) Pin Saves: 4 Double Teams: 5 Tag Out: Roll to determine partner attempting to tag in. Range depends on that partner (see above) Miscellaneous tag rules I also useSubtract 2 from all DQ ratings on the Outside Interference Chart that result from the Pin Saves Chart. If a wrestler faces a DQ or count out and his team doesn't have an ally at ringside, his tag partner may roll Distractor Rating 4 to attempt to distract the referee. This counts as one of the team's Pin Saves. When a wrestler rolls a TAG FINISHER that is performed with a specific partner (such as Hawk or Animal) and his partner is not in the match, reduce the strength of the move by two (Ex: FINISHER (+3) now becomes (+1). Minimum rating is 'Add 1'. A babyface wrestler tagging in on a roll of '2' when his partner is on Level 3 Offense, enters the ring 'a house of fire' and rolls on Level 2 Offense. Tornado Tag Team RulesIncrease success range when tagging out on defense by 2 (Ex: 2-6 becomes 2-8) Note - Since there is no tagging involved, assume the partner comes to his partner's aid instead. Since all wrestlers are legal, ignore DQs on the Pin Saves chart, as well as DQs on the Outside Interference Chart that result from the Pin Saves Chart. Each team receives 1 more Pin Save and 1 more Double Team than usual. There are a lot of great ideas, house rules etc from various promoters on the board. Try different ones out and see which works best for you. The main thing is just have fun.
