Kevin Bell, a former NFL wide receiver and kick returner, passed away at the age of 67. The following is an excerpt from Bell's online obituary: "Kevin walked on to play with Lamar’s football team his senior year. During his senior year at Lamar, he was drafted by the NFL to the San Diego Chargers and played there for one year. He was traded to the New York Jets and played as a wide receiver for two years. Kevin then went on to play for the Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League. Upon returning back to Beaumont, Kevin worked at DuPont plant in Orange, Texas and Chemco plant in Nederland, Texas for many years. While working full-time, Kevin completed his Associate's Degree in Applied Arts & Science at Lamar University. He later retired in April 2018 from Gerdau Steel plant in Rose City, Texas. For over 10 years, Kevin was a substitute teacher at Beaumont Independent School District. Kevin was also an active member of the Appomattox Social Club in Beaumont, Texas for over 20 years. In 2002, Kevin was inducted into the Lamar University’s Cardinal Hall of Honor for track and football. He was an all-time great sprinter and still holds the Lamar 100 meter dash record of 10.3 set in winning the 1977 Baylor Relays. He was also a two-time NCAA qualifier in the 100 meter dash in 1976 and 1977. Kevin earned first-team All-Southland Conference honors as a senior in 1977 after leading the team in rushing with 515 yards. In 2021, Kevin also received the NFL Player Recognition Award from Beaumont Independent School District." He was originally drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 12th round (321st overall) of the 1978 NFL Draft. Bell played for the Jets during the 1978 season.

Keith Christensen, a former tackle in the CFL, passed away at the age of 75. The following is an excerpt from his online obituary: "Keith graduated from Concordia High School in 1965 and went on to play football for the University of Kansas. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round of the 1969 NFL draft. He then went to the Edmonton Eskimos and played the 1970 & 1971 seasons. He married Jane M. McConahey on August 3, 1968 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Ks. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2021. Keith worked for the family business Christensen Oil until he sold his share of the business in September 1996. At that point he started a new business Commercial Tire Centers Inc in Salina, KS. He retired March 31st 2021. Since retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia Jaycee, Cloud County Community College Board of Trustees, Dunlop Dealer Counsel, and was a co-founder and member of Mid-America Tire Dealers Association since 1991. Keith enjoyed traveling and trips to the mountains. In his younger years he loved to go skiing with friends. Keith was a hard worker, and was often found at the shop or at home working on projects. He also loved spending time with his wife and children, and particularly enjoyed sporting events and outdoor adventures. He was skilled in carpentry, and shared his skills and knowledge with his sons. Later in life, he took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren and even chauffeured grandchildren to sporting events across multiple states. Keith also enjoyed watching KU basketball, or any KU sporting event. Keith "Pinky" Christensen played at offensive tackle at the University of Kansas, where he was coached first by Jack Mitchell and later by Pepper Rodgers. He then went to the Edmonton Eskimos, where he played for the 1970 and 1971 seasons.

Jim McMillin, a former defensive back in the American Football League passed away at the age of 83. The passing was announced on the Raiders' social media page. McMillin played college football at Colorado State and went undrafted after college. He signed with the Denver Broncos, played in 62 AFL games and started in 43 of them. During his career he played on the following teams: Denver Broncos (1961–1962) Oakland Raiders (1963–1964) Denver Broncos (1964–1965) During his 5 year career he recorded 14 interceptions and had 2 touchdowns.

Henry Elmore, a former Negro Leagues baseball player, passed away on January 8th at the age of 81. Elmore was a retired third baseman who played in the Negro Leagues from 1960 to 1962. During his tenure, Elmore played for the Philadelphia Stars and Birmingham Black Barons before the league dissolved. He subsequently enjoyed an extended career with the Birmingham Industrial League along with other former Negro leaguers. The following is an excerpt from Elmore's online obituary: "In addition to the 35 years at Stockham Valves and Fittings where he retired, Bob played professional baseball with the Birmingham Black Barons and the Philadelphia Stars. Bob also played with the Birmingham City League for more than 12 years, where he led the team with a .500 batting average. After his retirement he traveled around the country to speak and teach at different baseball events for the youth. Many friends and family will remember his knowledge of baseball which he often shared with everyone he met."

Douglas Fisher, a former NFL linebacker, passed away at the age of of 75. The following is an excerpt from Fisher's online obituary: "Douglas graduated from Reedley Community College where he was inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. After graduating from Reedley, he was scouted by and offered a full scholarship from San Diego State University to play football and continue his academics there. Douglas played football for SDSU and graduated with a double major in sociology and marketing. After graduating from SDSU, Douglas was drafted to play in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Steelers as a defensive linebacker wearing the jersey #54. Douglas's love for football continued throughout his lifetime. He never missed watching the Super Bowl, even until the very end, when he was surrounded by family watching Super Bowl LVII before peacefully passing in his sleep later that evening. In addition to a career in football, Douglas also worked for Union Oil, General Dynamics, and Compton's New Media. He loved going to the beach, singing karaoke, and enjoying life with family and friends. He loved living in San Diego and was a resident for 55 years." Fisher was selected in the 12th round of the 1969 NFL Draft by the Steelers. Between 1969 and 1970 he played in a total of 10 games for Pittsburgh. From a small community college all the way to the NFL.
