American Showdown Wrestling #7 BRISCO vs. BOCKWINKEL
BULL CURRY def. Mikey Whipwreck via pinfall after a SERIES OF PUNCHES. -- Tokens: Curry 2 - Whipwreck 2 -- Bull Curry interrupted Gary Michael Cappetta while he was trying to complete the introductions, pushing him into a corner and making threats. Whipwreck rushed the ring to make the save! <Whipwreck started on Level 2 Offense.> -- Whipwreck nearly put Curry down for a flash finish, but an unexpected appearance by Vampiro caused a distraction that turned the tide.
BLOND BOMBERS (Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson w/ Bobby Heenan) def. Brickhouse Brown & Sam Houston via pinfall when Stevens pinned Brown after a CRIPPLING PILEDRIVER. -- Tokens: Brown 6, Houston 4 -- Gordon Solie conducted a prematch interview with the Blond Bombers and their manager, Bobby Heenan. Their arrogant behavior resulted in a verbal exchange with their rivals, Jerry Brisco & Thunderbolt Patterson. Capitalizing on the opportunity, Brown & Houston jumped into the mix! They took out Stevens and then hit Patterson with a pair of lariats before rolling him into the ring. <Patterson started on Level 3 Defense.> - Clever teamwork allowed the Bombers to quickly recover and hold onto their advantage for the majority of this match.
JERRY BRISCO & THUNDERBOLT PATTERSON def. Valiant Brothers (Johnny & Jimmy Valiant) via pinfall when Thunderbolt pinned Johnny after a HEAD BUTT. -- Tokens: Brisco 4, Thunderbolt 2 - JohnnyV 5, JimmyV 2 - Quick tags and fluid teamwork kept the action moving at a brisk pace with both teams surviving multiple close calls.
The Crusher vs. Abdullah the Butcher resulted in a draw via double DQ <out of the ring> during a brawl. -- Tokens: Crusher 2 - Abdullah 2 -- This rivalry began during the 'Monsters of Men' Battle Royal, resulting in this fierce confrontation that the referee was simply unable to control.
-- Special Interview with Lance Russell -- Lance was joined by Lou Thesz, who had lots to say about the reigning LWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Savage. The conversation was interrupted by Savage and his manager, Sherri Martel. Tempers flared, leading to a heated verbal exchange. Thesz informed Savage and Martel that he was coming for the title. Savage was ready to fight, but Martel held him back while telling him not to waste his energy. It was apparent that Savage and Thesz were on a collision course with the LWGP World Heavyweight Championship right in the middle!
RODDY PIPER (w/ Bill Alfonso) def. Rob Van Dam via submission with a SLEEPER. -- Tokens: Piper 1 - RVD 2 -- Although his presence at ringside was quite annoying, Alfonso was not a factor in the outcome of this fast paced grudge match.
NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) def. Jack Brisco to win the LWGP United Open Championship. Bockwinkel tapped out Brisco with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. -- Tokens: Bockwinkel 4 - Brisco 3 -- Bockwinkel was in serious trouble when Heenan interrupted a near fall while slipping a foreign object to his client. The referee was busy reprimanding Heenan when Bockwinkel smashed Brisco with the object, leading to a controversial finish.

Bockwinkel hasn't done much for me with the color card but I'm going to give him another chance in singles soon.

Bock with the sneak win. I don't call him Tricky Nicky for nothing.

Bockwinkel hasn't done much for me with the color card but I'm going to give him another chance in singles soon. Always enjoy these kinds of conversation starters, my friend... Bockwinkel has always been above the curve for me... Not a constant title holder, but someone that always makes me hold my breath when he's challenging for the gold... Enjoyed a lot of tag team success with Ray Stevens as his partner and I think I even ran a feud between them after the split... Fun guy to have around!

Bock with the sneak win. I don't call him Tricky Nicky for nothing. That is simply the BEST nickname! And putting the Brain in his corner is one of the most natural alliances in the game... The champion's advantage is gonna come in handy, I think! HA!

We might have to move this to Shop Talk but what Champion's Advantage do you use?

We might have to move this to Shop Talk but what Champion's Advantage do you use? My C.A. house rule is really quite simple - the champion can re-roll after being successfully pinned ONCE per defense... It just kinda eliminates those flukey low rolls that often happen early in a match that make you shake your head. However, the C.A. that I was referring to in that previous post was the mechanic on Bobby Heenan's card... The one that gives Heenan family members an awesome advantage when they are defending a title... Could really help Bock keep the belt away from some tough customers.
