Won a rare tag tournament at Galacticon with them. Always enjoy using them as a team though we have a lot of choices for partners for Williams. Maybe one day we'll get Buddy Roberts and do a Freebirds reunion.

Won a rare tag tournament at Galacticon with them. Always enjoy using them as a team though we have a lot of choices for partners for Williams. Maybe one day we'll get Buddy Roberts and do a Freebirds reunion. In my previous Legends project, I was going to use Diamond Dallas Page, Brad Armstrong and Terry Gordy as the Freebirds... That idea fizzled as I moved onto other things... I'm not necessarily opposed to trying that experiment again, but it probably won't be for quite awhile... Still holding out for that younger version of DDP... BANG!

American Showdown Wrestling #5 BRODY & SNUKA vs. SPIVEY & HANSEN
VAMPIRO def. Jim Brunzell via pinfall after a NAIL IN THE COFFIN. -- Tokens: Brunzell 1 -- This was an unexpected squash as Vampiro finished Brunzell with relative ease.
JERRY BRISCO & THUNDERBOLT PATTERSON def. Blond Bombers (Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson) via pinfall when Thunderbolt pinned Patterson after teaming with Brisco for a double tackle. -- Tokens: Brisco 6, Thunderbolt 2 - Stevens 3, Patterson 6 -- The Bombers stormed the ring before Gary Michael Cappetta could complete the introductions. They took out Thunderbolt and then smashed Brisco with a pair of chairshots while Heenan distracted the referee to prevent an immediate disqualification. <Brisco added 1 token and Patterson started on Level 3 Offense.> -- This emotionally charged conflict lasted much longer than Heenan had planned. Brisco wanted to avenge his brother for the assault that occurred during the previous card. Steady determination ensured that he and his partner got the job done.
DANNY HODGE def. Johnny Saint to retain the LWGP Catch Class Championship. Hodge pinned Saint with an OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL. -- Tokens: Saint 2 -- This was a successful version two title defense. -- Saint offered some solid resistance, but Hodge's reign was never in any serious jeopardy.
MIRACLE VIOLENCE CONNECTION (Steve Williams & Terry Gordy) def. Gorilla Monsoon & Killer Kowalski (w/ Red Berry) via submission <snake eyes> when Gordy tapped out Kowalski with an STF. -- Tokens: Williams 4, Gordy 4 - Monsoon 4, Kowalski 5 -- The bad blood between these two teams began during the Battle Royal on the previous card and became even more pronounced throughout this grueling match. Interference by Berry only delayed the eventual outcome. -- The Kangaroos rushed the ring to attack Williams & Gordy after the bell. Before Monsoon & Kowalski had a chance to join the assault, they were cut off by the Road Warriors! A wild brawl erupted and security was needed to restore order. It was announced that Berry's stable of Monsoon, Kowalski & Kangaroos would face MVC & Road Warriors in an eight-man tag match on the next card!
FABULOUS MOOLAH (w/ Lou Albano) def. Malia Hosaka to retain the LWGP World Women's Championship. Moolah pinned Hosaka after a BODY PRESS. -- Tokens: Moolah 2 - Hosaka 3 -- This was a successful version two title defense. -- Hosaka delivered a great performance, dictating the pace for a good portion of this match. Surviving multiple close calls, Moolah was able to rebound for the win. -- Gordon Solie conducted a post-match interview with Fabulous Moolah and her manager, Lou Albano. They became irritated by the questions and started making threats. Before any harm was done, Mildred Burke arrived and the two women engaged in a fierce staredown. Burke made it clear that she was still coming for the belt, but Albano was hesitant to permit a rematch against his client. Some impromptu negotiations led to an agreement. Burke would receive a title shot on the next card, but if she failed to win, she would not be eligible for another for the duration of Moolah's reign!
DAN SPIVEY & STAN HANSEN def. Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka via pinfall when Spivey pinned Brody after a POWERBOMB. -- Tokens: Spivey 1, Hansen 3 - Brody 3 -- Brody was looking for payback against Spivey for eliminating him from the Battle Royal on the previous card under questionable circumstances and he recruited a longtime ally to join his cause. Neither team held anything back in this brutal exchange. Spivey broke up a near fall on his partner and while the referee was busy keeping Snuka on the apron, Brody was crushed by a wicked double team combination.

Some busy dice. Spivey with a big win. Moolah does what she does and always fun to see a Vampiro squash. That main event victory just bought Spivey & Hansen a pair of tickets to face the Roadies for the tag belts... Is that actually a reward? Hmmmmm... 🤔 Moolah is gonna have her hands full on the next card... But, if Mildred doesn't win, she can't challenge Moolah again... The proverbial double edged sword. I keep putting Konnan and Vampiro on the card to see if the dice will give me a confrontation of some kind... Not gonna force it. These dice are dizzy indeed, my friend... Many thanks for staying tuned!

American Showdown Wrestling #6 MOOLAH vs. BURKE
MR SAITO & MR FUJI (w/ Lou Albano) def. Ric McCord & Rocky Kernodle via pinfall when Fuji pinned Kernodle after a MIDDLE ROPE SPLASH. -- Tokens: McCord 1, Kernodle 1 -- Both teams delivered respectable performances in this fast paced exchange. Despite a noble effort, McCord & Kernodle were unable to overcome the devious tactics of Saito & Fuji.
YUKON ERIC def. Angelo Mosca via DQ <lv> when Mosca used a cable to blatantly choke him out. -- Tokens: Eric 1 -- These two men continued where they left off during the recent 'Monsters of Men' Battle Royal, pulling no punches and the referee was not in the mood to offer any leniency.
DAVEY BOY SMITH (w/ Dynamite Kid) def. Warlord (w/ Barbarian) via pinfall <outside interference counter> after smashing the heads of Warlord and Barbarian together. -- Tokens: Warlord 2 -- The athletic ability of Smith proved to be an effective counter against Warlord's overwhelming strength. Botched interference by Barbarian led to further embarrassment for the Powers Of Pain.
-- Ringside with Commissioner Teddy Long -- The commissioner was joined by Nick Bockwinkel and his manager, Bobby Heenan. The pair should have been in good spirits following the recent injury suffered by Jack Brisco as a result of a sneak attack that was coordinated by them and executed by their cohorts, Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson. However, this was not the case. They were furious, accusing Brisco of ducking a rematch for the LWGP United Open Championship even though Bockwinkel defeated him via disqualification during their previous encounter. Brisco showed up and stated that he would soon be cleared to compete again. He agreed to defend the title against Bockwinkel on the next card!
DYNAMITE KID (w/ Davey Boy Smith) def. Barbarian (w/ Warlord) via DQ <outside interference> when Warlord attacked Kid to break up a near fall. -- Tokens: Kid 5 - Barbarian 5 -- Gordon Solie conducted a prematch interview with the Powers Of Pain. Their insults gained an immediate response from the British Bulldogs, leading to a wild brawl! They nailed each of their rivals with a double head butt and Kid dumped Barbarian into the ring as the referee called to officially begin the match. <Barbarian started on Level 3 Defense.> -- Lots of action occurred out on the floor and both men were bloody for their efforts.
MIRACLE VIOLENCE CONNECTION (Steve Williams & Terry Gordy) & ROAD WARRIORS (Hawk & Animal w/ Paul Ellering) def. Gorilla Monsoon, Killer Kowalski & Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan w/ Red Berry) via pinfall when Gordy pinned Kowalski after a back suplex. -- Tokens: Williams 8, Hawk 1 - Kowalski 3, Costello 1 -- A distraction by Ellering prevented Animal from being disqualified during the opening moments of this intense encounter. Williams wound up trapped in the wrong corner for an extended period of time and was busted wide open before he managed to make a much needed tag. The referee had difficulty maintaining order, but Gordy took command of the situation for his team.
FABULOUS MOOLAH (w/ Lou Albano) def. Mildred Burke to retain the LWGP World Women's Championship. Moolah pinned Burke with a JACKKNIFE CRADLE. -- Tokens: Moolah 2 - Burke 5 -- This was a successful version three title defense. -- Both women pulled out all the stops in this seesaw battle. -- Gordon Solie conducted a post-match interview with Mildred Burke. She spoke her mind, stating that she was obviously disappointed with the outcome and would have to accept the terms that were agreed upon heading into the match. As a result, she would not receive another title shot for the duration of Moolah's reign.

Moolah just has Burke's number for now. Fun win for Fuji and Saito. Even though they didn't drop a single fatigue token on their opponents, I was still pretty impressed with how well Ric & Rocky performed... It was a fun match all around. Moolah just removed her toughest potential challenger from the equation, so she could be in the early stages of a very memorable reign indeed. Always appreciate the continued interest, my friend... Many thanks!
