PACIFIC NORTHWEST WRESTLINGWelcome to Pacific Northwest Wrestling, or Portland Wrestling as it's sometimes called. This is my attempt to recreate this groundbreaking federation from the past. Some of the all-time greats wrestled here... Jimmy Snuka, Pat Patterson, Roddy Piper, Buddy Rose, Adrian Adonis and so many more. I have put together a roster of stars in an attempt to get the small territory feel that I believe captures the charm of this promotion. This will mainly be represented by a weekly TV show.... Portland Wrestling. This one hour show was broadcast from a converted bowling alley into the Portland Sports Arena. The lighting was bad, ceiling was low but the action was great. The announcers were Frank Bonnema (until his death in 1982) and Don Coss.
As members of the NWA, the 2 regional titles were the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship and the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship. Both will be up for grabs in my fed.
Here is my roster...
Dutch Savage, Magnum TA, Curt Hennig, The Grappler, Jimmy Snuka, Pat Patterson, Mad Dog Vachon, The Destroyer, Adrian Adonis, Roddy Piper, Red Bastien, Dynamite Kid, Steven Regal, Doug Somers, Mr Fuji, Tom Prichard, Buddy Rose, Lanny Poffo, Tommy Rogers and the Kiwi Sheepherders. Also holding titles in PNW were Fritz von Goering and Nick Bockwinkel, but they will enter the fed as needed.
*** If anybody has suggestions of wrestlers who worked in PNW, let me know.
Finally, I am an online player, so this fed will be run online only. So, get to your seat, grab a beer and some popcorn and watch the Pacific Northwest's best wrestling action!

Card 1
Adrian Adonis def. Lanny Poffo with a surprise roll up and pin. This was a solid match which saw both wrestlers score near falls. Poffo attempted to try a flying cross body off the top rope which Adonis countered and rolled Poffo up for the win. Adonis rolled under the ropes after the match and laughed at Poffo.
Dutch Savage def. Tommy Rogers with his RUNNING PILEDRIVER! This match quickly spilled to the floor. Savage slammed Rogers' head off the ring post, tossed him in the ring and delivered his finisher. Savage made quick work of the younger and inexperienced Rogers.
Red Bastien & The Dynamite Kid def. The Kiwi Sheepherders with a double dropkick. This was a back and forth match. After a pin save by Luke Williams, the referee was distracted which allowed Bastien and Dynamite Kid to hit a devastating double dropkick. Bastien quickly pinned Miller to the roar of the crows. Nice win.
In the Main Event, Magnum T.A. Def. Buddy Rose (with Doug Somers) with his BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX! This was a tough fight which saw much of the action take place outside the ring. Magnum was busted open, but continued to battle Rose. In the end, Rose was caught by Magnum's finisher and was pinned in the center of the ring. After the match, Somers had to help Rose to the locker room.

Card 2
The Grappler def. Tom Prichard with his LOADED BOOT! The Grappler used high impact moves to dominate this matchup. Prichard was caught by surprise by The Grappler's finisher and was knocked out briefly. Prichard had to be helped from the ring.
Lanny Poffo & Tommy Rogers def. Rose & Somers with the FANTASTIC FLIP! Rogers & Poffo kept Buddy Rose isolated and unable to tag out. While worn down, Rogers hit his finisher to get the upset win! Rose & Somers were left arguing in the ring.
Curt Hennig def. Butch Miller with a standing dropkick. This was a good match between the second generation wrestler and the tag team specialist. In the end, Hennig nailed Miller with a perfect standing dropkick and pinned Miller 1, 2... 3. This Hennig kid looks good.
In the Main Event, Roddy Piper def Mr Fuji by DQ after a wild brawl outside the ring. This match broke down early as both wrestlers took the fight to the ringside area. The referee couldn't get controll of the match and disqualified Mr Fuji after he rammed Piper's head into the announce table... repeatedly! Both men had to be separated after the match.

Card 3
Pat Patterson def. Doug Somers (with Buddy Rose) with his BOMBS AWAY! This match was all Patterson as Somers could not mount any offense. After the match, Roddy Piper hit the ring and attacked Buddy Rose. Once Rose was out cold, Patterson and Piper delivered a spike piledriver to Somers. What was that all about?
Jimmy Snuka def. Dynamite Kid with his SUPERFLY LEAP! Snuka and Dynamite kid put on a classic match, with both wrestlers having their moments. After delivering a power slam to the Dynamite Kid, Snuka climbed to the top rope and delivered his finisher! The crowd is still buzzing after that leap.
Mad Dog Vachon def. Steven Regal with his PILEDRIVER! Regal dominated the match in the opening minutes, which only infuriated Vachon. Vachon then took control, hit his PILEDRIVER and won the match. A good win for Mad Dog.
In the Main Event, The Destroyer def. Adrian Adonis with his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. This was a “5 star” match which saw both men kick out of multiple pin attempts. The Destroyer kicked out of 3.... yes 3 GOODNIGHT IRENE finishers! Once The Destroyer gained controll, he used the single leg Boston Crab to wear down Adonis before putting him away with the FIGURE FOUR! Wow!

In a surprise announcement to the packed arena, tonight's card will be the beginning of a 16 man tournament to crown the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Champion. Each match was determined at random from the best talent in Portland Wrestling. Next week will be a continuation of the opening round. As the crowd buzzed with excitement, the first match was announced...
Card 4 (NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Tournament – Round 1) Curt Hennig def. The Grappler with The Axe. The Grappler looked confused with the younger, faster Hennig. Hennig stayed on The Grappler, not letting him get in any offense. Finally, Curt used his father's move... The Axe... to score the opening round win. The Grappler kicked the bottom rope in disgust.
Roddy Piper def. Dynamite Kid with his SLEEPER. This was anybody's match as both wrestlers hit their biggest moves. The fight continued outside the ring, but with this being a No DQ match, the referree let the wrestlers settle it. Once back in the ring, Piper slapped on his SLEEPER and The Dynamite Kid was out. Nice win for the “Rowdy One”.
The Destroyer def. Mr Fuji with his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK! In classis fashion, The Destroyer was unrelenting. Using his single leg Boston Crab, he wore Mr Fuji down. Once the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK was applied, Fuji tapped immediately. Mr Fuji had no answer for The Destroyer this night.
In the Main Event, Jimmy Snuka def. Doug Somers with a piledriver. Snuka made this match look easy as he beat Somers in under 2 minutes! After delivering 2 piledrivers to Somers, Snuka got the easy win. Somers stayed down after the match and was helped to the back as Snuka celebrated with the fans.
That's all from Portland. See you next week fans!

Can we possibly get a Piper vs. Snuka final? Not impossible, but I'm certainly not gonna discount the talent of Hennig or The Destroyer.
Really enjoying the pulse of this fed... Fun stuff!

Piper vs Snuka is possible. We'll see how the brackets play out. Honestly, I think The Destroyer is the favorite, but the dice may have other plans.
