DDP's artwork is an issue for me but a minor one. I'd love to see the curly mullet look for him. Prime WCW.
For me, the current DDP card feels like a solid midcarder rather than an upper midcarder or lower main eventer, which is where I view him. He has the ability (thanks to the strong finisher) to pick up wins against the main eventers but not quite as much as I'd like him to. This is obviously super subjective but DDP's card seems on par with the younger tag cards of Barry Windham and Mike Rotunda.

How much input did DDP have over his card? Was that artwork he had to sign off on? I like it but just curious as to how the process goes with artwork and cards overall. I figured the wrestlers or their family has final say in most cases. I don't know for sure about LOW (and even on the Indy brand I am usually not to involved in the artwork,) but I think for LOW their approval is only really necessary if they specifically request it. I know that is the case at least for the Indy brand where only a few names such as Matt Cardona and Kevin Blackwood have made that request. It is not unusual to sign a wrestler and, even if you get their contact info as well, to never hear back from them despite multiple attempts when trying to confirm their offense for the back of the cards. So, if we had to wait first for approval on everybody's art, many cards would just never get released. Thanks for the response Vegas. I honestly don't have a problem with the card he works just great for me and I dig the art. Was just curious how that process sometimes works and depending on the wrestler how much input they want to give.

If I'm not mistaken, i think the reason they have the short hair DDP is because that was the agreement because he was/is pushing the yoga and this is his look that ties in with the yoga.
Personally, even if there are no changes, I'd rather have the long hair version of the art.

But, guiltyparty , I think that Savage card is a career retrospective. You are talking about a guy who held the WWF Championship two times, the first time of which was a reign over a year, he was an Intercontinental Champion, and when Savage was winning the WCW World Title, Page was wrestling for the lowest tier title, the TV Title and later the U.S. Title. I think to assume that a card that references DDP's entire career vs. one that references Savage's entire career 1 out of every 4 times makes sense to me - more than 2 out of every 5, IMO. That's a valid position to take. But, since we are now getting variants that represent very specific eras of guy's careers I don't think it's unreasonable to want a DDP that reflects the 4 or so year period when he was arguably as big a star as anyone in one of the two major promotions. I'd also be equally satisfied, as far as my desire to be able to recreate the rivalry, with a late career version of Savage, say post '96. Though I think most would prefer a leveled up Page to a leveled down Savage. Right, but hearing the arguments from other promoters, it's more the hair than anything else - the artwork - rather than the actual card - that is the problem. The variant cards are for when significant changes to move sets, chart ratings, etc. occurred. Page in the era you are talking about rather than the retrospective card, didn't have significantly different moves abilities. Really, the art is the only thing that changed. Look at who we are getting heel Spivey vs. Golden Boy; singles Mike Rotunda vs. U.S. Express Mike Rotundo; Biker Adonis vs. Adorable Adonis; Black Glove DiBiase vs. Million Dollar Man DiBiase. Again, they were character switches, nothing really that altered from their cards. Again I hear what you are saying, but if I am going to have a second card for DDP, then it better be broke, Kimberly left him DDP, or heel DDP, with some trickery and mechanics, for when he was just a mid to lower card wrestler, IMO.

on the episode of Uncharted Territory that released today, they announced that the third name for Promoter Prime is NOT an alternate version of a previously released character. They said the lineup changed last minute.
