Tough break for the Jets, It would be a nice story if Zack Wilson was to have a big season and lead the Jets into the post season.

I had the Jets at +2 1/2 last night and they were the final team I needed to win my Sunday afternoon parlay ticket (I used the Monday Night game as the 3rd game on that 3-teamer.)
I was a little worried when Rogers went out after 1 throw, but glad the Jets still won because I turned $10 into $71 and I need the money right now since the district declared an impasse and sent our negotiations to arbitration which could take 12-18 months.

Congrats on winning on your ticket. I've had many anxious moments myself when making parlay bets. I remember a few years ago I had a three game bet on baseball and I got the first two games right. For my third game I picked a tie between the A's and the Mariners which on our betting system in B.C. is a game decided by one run. Going into the bottom of the ninth the A's were winning 5-3 and I was on the edge of my seat hoping the Mariners would get that one run and lose or two runs to win. I didn't care either way. As luck would have it they did get that one run, lost the game 5-4 and I won around $100 on my ticket. Best of luck with the teachers strike. Sounds like the district is playing hardball. Stay strong and hang in there.

I was watching the game since it was on ABC, wish all of MNF were, and was cheering for the Bills but after the injury I slightly leaned toward the Jets because of Wilson. I don't want the Jets to win the SB, that's for my Lions, but I would be fine if Wilson led the Jets to the SB and played good in a lose to the Lions lol.

Stay strong and hang in there. we can't strike, it is illegal in Nevada We will win arbitration as we are not asking for 1 dime more than what the Democratic legislature allocated for our raises and then the Republican governor signed the bill allocated for our raises (so it passed on a bipartisan basis and so this is not a political conversation.) But arbitration often takes a long time and we may not see the money until 2025 and then it will be time to start negotiating on a new 2-year contract. The district says we are overpaid. However, the superintendent gave himself a $75,000 raise and bought off the administrators (who previously voted no confidence in his leadership) by giving them each $27,000 raises. We currently have over 1,200 teaching vacancies in our district and I think we are going to soon have many more (my friend who teaches World History with me quit over the contract problems just before the school year started and 6 weeks later there is still a long term sub in those classes as there are no available teachers to fill these 1,200 openings.) I have woke up early on many mornings to join organized protests before school, I have protested at events organized by the Union at busy street corners after school, and I have protested at multiple school board meetings where the district had security arrest multiple teachers. I have been in labor wars before, but this is the ugliest battle I have been part of and there is absolutley no reason for it as the governor and state legislature is repeatedly saying the money is there and the district just needs to pay us. I am making $600 less per month compared to last year as I teach one less class this year so I was really counting on that 10% raise that the legislature approved. sorry if I vented too much, I am just frustrated with work at the moment

We all need to blow off some steam now and then and I don't mind listening. That sounds like a VERY frustrating situation, especially considering you won't see that money for awhile once you win arbitration. It's always infuriating when the people at the top reward themselves while those below them suffer. Hopefully that superintendent gets removed from power sooner rather than later. Stay strong and keep fighting the good fight.

So true that we all need to vent from time to time. That is what friends are for. If anyone deserves to vent it is Zeke. Nicest guy you can meet. Plus, he does SO MUCH for this game. As it is, sounds like a legit reason to vent anyways. When both political parties are saying the raise is fine and the money is there it should be a done deal. The superintendent is a donkey.

Hopefully that superintendent gets removed from power sooner rather than later. Stay strong and keep fighting the good fight. yeah, the superintendent has no problem lining his own pocket with a $75,000 raise while declaring a labor impasse for people like me in the trenches and last time the district sent us to arbitration it took us 18 months to win (last time in arbitration the district actually tried to appeal a "binding arbitration" decision that they lost to delay us getting paid even longer) meaning the money I shoud be making now, as passed by the Democratic state legisature and signed by the Republican governor, I may not see until 2025. We used to have 1,200 vacancies, we now have 1,400 vacanices and that number is expected to increase as UNLV this December is only graduating 47 prospective teachers. It sucks, I was planning on going to Mania Weelend in Philadelphia, I was planning on going to Galacticon in Jamestown (I have a 9 year Galacticon streak,) but right now I can barely afford to go next door to California lol (but I am going to Rome for sure in December as that was already paid for.)

Just an utter shame, Zeke. Ridiculous how they treat teachers like they don't matter.
Aaron Rogers I might not like, but I hope he recovers fully.

Well Rogers played five snaps with the Jets...four involving the football and one with his Achilles!
