Great episode. Gave me lots of ideas for a St. Louis Venue card. . Thanks for the entertainment. Gotta be "The Chase", but if you go with the Keil (I think I spelled it correctly) that would work too. But "The Chase" is the "classic" St. Louis venue.

Man...my memory is a sieve as well stu! It must be contagious from listen to the UT! TDalton said something towards the end of the episode (and truth be told I am too lazy to listen again to find it) and I LOL'd because it was spot on for me as well, but I cannot remember and I even told myself to remember it so I could say somwthing about it in my post...grrrrr. Oh well, I it comes back to me I will edit this post... I did get a chuckle out of the "9 mikefortune" playing for Team Canada in the WBC...I LOL'd at that as well! Great Episode...I wish that while I was stationed near St. Louis that one of the local feds had run something out of The Chase as it would have been great to see a show there...but alas NWA didn't return until I was stationed way over on the east coast...Maybe I will have to plan a trip to see the daughter and son-in-law in the NWA runs another show there.

This sounds exactly like the kind of Legends fed I would like to play, truth be told -- no fixed roster, competition based, etc. So thank you, gentlemen... This was a really interesting and educational (yes, I said it - educational) discussion for me... Because honestly, I'm still fairly ignorant about what professional wrestling looked like before the internet era took over... I've already started doing some research into the St. Louis Wrestling Club and think this might lead me towards another fun LOW project... Exciting times!

no fixed roster, anyone could appear, yeah I think I know a fed like that Seriously though, Sam did some amazing things and I won't replicate them (I like tag matches and masked wrestlers too much) but I totally respect him for how he ran St. Louis.

Thanks for spotlighting the territory of my childhood--the St. Louis Wrestling club!
Wrestling At The Chase is the TV show that made me a wrestling fan. I still miss it today.
I only saw the show when it was taped in the KPLR Channel 11 TV Studio--which was located in the Chase Park Plaza Hotel.
I would have loved to have been around when it was taped in the Khorrasan Room at the Chase--with fans in tuxedos & ballgowns!

For those who are interested, there's a PBS documentary on You Tube called Head Over Heels: Remembering Wrestling At The Chase. It was done by St. Louis sportswriter Ed Wheatley who also wrote a coffee table book about WATC with lots of great pictures. He previously wrote a book and did a PBS documentary on the St. Louis Browns(now Baltimore Orioles).
Legends Of Wrestling's Jerry Brisco is among those interviewed in the documentary. He'll also be inducted into the St. Louis Wrestling Hall Of Fame on May 13, 2023, along with J.J. Dillon.
