The match was a good one, Rotunda looked like he was on his way to victory when he tossed Abdulah out of the ring, who landed on his feet and dragged Rotunda out of the ring before smashing him against the guardrail then hitting him with a chair! He was disqualified but rolled Rotunda back into the ring and tied him into the roped before taking a few cheap shots. Hacksaw battled back though and eventually knocked him out of the ring with a vicious lariat. He followed Sarge out on to the floor but was attacked by Dark Patriot while Sarge was distracting the referee! He tossed Duggan back into the ring, who locked in the CAMEL CLUTCH to get the win! Highlights from AWF Championship Wrestling on ESPN airing October 22nd, 1987
Gordon Solie brought out AWF World Heavyweight Champion Sgt Slaughter with Dark Patriot. He buried his Fright Night opponent, Magnum T.A, as a weak willed and pathetic excuse for a man, emblematic of the decline of America. AWF Commissioner Teddy Long then appeared. He chided Slaughter for his words and for the actions of Dark Patriot against "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in Shreveport. He said they don't want to see that happen again with the title on the line so as a result, all ring side allies or managers will be BARRED FROM RINGSIDE in the title match at Fright Night. Dark patriot and Sarge were absolutely livid but the crowd went wild.
We heard from the Midnight Express with Jim Cornette. Still livid at Rob Van Dam and Sabu stealing their title shot, they challenged them to a match at Fright Night. And since you boys like it rough and tough, let's make it a Louisiana Street Fight! No DQ No Count out, weapons are legal!
Jimmy Hart mocked Masked Superstar and promised a surprise for him at Fright Night!
Barry Windham and "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan recounted their run in with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Ace' Bob Orton a few weeks prior. They've been chasing them all over the AWF but know they'll be in New Orleans for Fright Night!

AWF Fright Night Card 13 October 25th, 1987 Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans Dark Match: Jerry Lynn pinned Tom Stone as the fans filed in. This was an entertaining match for what it was. Dark Match: Mike Rotunda took on Koko B Ware. Koko had a good showing in this one, but was caught by a suplex and pinned by the Varsity Club member. The pay per view and closed circuit broadcast begins with a montage highlighting the big matches of the night, it then cuts to Gordon Solie: Hello fans and welcome to New Orleans, the home of the AWF! Tonight we've got one of our biggest cards ever, as we present to you AWF Fright Night! Let's get to the ring!1. In the opener Danny Doring came down to the ring and grabbed a mic. He mocked the New Orleans crowd as a bunch of redneck drunks to a chorus of boos. He then pointed to the entranceway and introduced his new tag team partner, Amish Roadkill! The crowd was not impressed as the crazy looking Amish came down to the ring. Danny Doring then did a goofy heelish dance which also got quite the negative reaction. He then issued an open challenge to the back, eager to prove how lethal this new tag team is! That maybe wasn't the smartest move as AWF World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors answered the call to a huge pop! This match wasn't exactly a squash, but the champions cruised to a win with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE the got the crowd off their feet! 2. Next, Ox Baker took on Hillbilly Jim. Jim played to the crowd early and often in a match that had a slow build, but Ox took over and was ruthless in the back end, winning with the HEART PUNCH. 3. Jimmy Hart then came to the ring. He again mocked Masked Superstar and buried him for losing his money. He then introduced his new client, Nord the Barbarian! Nord came to the ring looking menacing, Jimmy Hart then called out Masked Superstar, who obliged him. This match was toe to toe between the two powerhouses, but Masked Superstar seemed distracted by Jimmy Hart throughout. Eventually he was clotheslined out of the ring and he started chasing Jimmy around. Nord took advantage and attacked him from behind! He then rolled Masked Superstar back in the ring and got the 1-2-3 for the win. Jimmy celebrated in his typical over the top fashion. He and Nord took off as Masked Superstar followed them to the back. 4. Next was one of the big matches of the night, the LOUISIANA STREET FIGHT between Rob Van Dam and Sabu with Bill Alfonzo against The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette. This was, as expected, a very entertaining match. The action spilled out of the ring and into the crowd, with Cornette getting involved where he could. Dennis Condrey was beaten up pretty badly, leaving Bobby Eaton as carrying the load. He did his best and got control of the match back after Sabu missed a TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT. He was unable to capitalize, and a beautiful Van Damninator popped the crowd and got the win. Fonzie then tried to punk Cornette on the way out but was chased out. Big win for Rob Van Dam and Sabu! 5. Our next match was AWF World Television Champion Curt Henning defending against Dynamite Kid with no time limit. This was an excellent technical match, with Dynamite Kid controlling the action early, leading to the champion powdering out the the ring several times. At one point he grabbed the belt and began walking back to the locker room! The crowd really let him have it and he reluctantly came back to the ring. He battled back but Dynamite caught him with a big suplex and a flash pin! Henning was in disbelief as the crowd went wild! We've got a new World Television champion! Dynamite Kid celebrated in the ring then went down and jumped in the crowd, holding his title high in a memorable moment. 6. Next up a grudge match as Disco Inferno faced Dancin' Stevie Richards. Both were focused and fought intensely in a very good match. Disco was frustrated as every attempt he made to get Stevie off his game didn't seem to work. A throw into the the ropes led to a STEVIE KICK and the win! 7. Next was the big DOG COLLAR MATCH between "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and Abdullah the Butcher with American spokesman Jim Cornette. This was as rough and tumble as expected, with Dr. Death flashing his strength against the Sudanese monster. This match didn't quite live up to expectations unfortunately, Abdullah caught an eye cleaver fairly early and got the pin to the disappointment of the crowd. Dirt sheets have speculated Steve Williams was injured early in the match necessitating the finish. 8. In the penultimate match, "Rowdy" Rowdy Piper and "Ace" Bob Orton took on Barry Windham and "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. This match had a lot of heat and all 4 men dazzled the crowd with great wrestling and teamwork. Ace tried to use his loaded cast but Duggan countered it, but was yanked out of the ring in the process. Orton then proceeded to distract the referee and Barry Windham as Piper smashed Duggan with a steel chair! he then rolled hacksaw in the ring and slapped on the SLEEPER HOLD to get the win! 9. In the MAIN EVENT, AWF World Heavyweight Champion Sgt. Slaughter defended his title against Magnum T.A., who came to the ring waving a huge American flag to a big pop. All allies were banned from ringside, with Slaughter clearly warry in the early goings not having his security blanket with him. He slowed the match down, bailing out of the ring and working a lot of rest holds to frustrate and annoy the challenger. This appeared to be working, but Magnum came back again and again. He took control of the match and had several near falls, leaving fans at the edge of their seats in anticipation! With everyone sensing an end soon, he tossed the champion into the ropes and hit the BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX for the 1-2-3!!! The crowd went ballistic as it was announced we have a new World Champion! The locker room emptied out as everyone from Stevie Richards to Hacksaw and Barry Windham came to congratulate the new champion. They hoisted him on their shoulders and Magnum, in tears, draped the title over his shoulder as he waved the American flag. What a night fans! It's been our pleasure to bring you the best in wrestling action! We hope you enjoyed yourselves and we'll see you again soon! So long!

Highlights from AWF Championship Wrestling on ESPN airing October 29th, 1987
Gordon Solie recapped a historic night this past weekend at FRIGHT NIGHT with video package stills of the big matches. He then hyped up the AWF's first ever West Coast tour coming for November! Get your tickets now fans!
New AWF World Television Champion Dynamite Kid took on Keith Steinborn. Dynamite looked like he had a bit of a hangover as he was not sharp at all for this one. At one point he tossed Steinborn out of the ring, who landed on his feet and grabbed dynamite and pulled him out, smashing him against the ring post and rolling him back in for a VERY close 2 count! What an upset that would have been! Dynamite seemed to snap out of it soon after as he then hit the DIVING HEAD BUTT soon after for the win.
We heard from the NEW AWF World Heavyweight Champion Magnum T.A.! He thanked the fans for their support and held up the title while declaring to everyone watching that you too can fulfill your dreams if you believe in yourself. The touching moment was interrupted by AWF Commissioner Teddy Long. The Commissioner congratulated Magnum on his big title win, but was there to inform him that Sgt. Slaughter had formally asked for a rematch. It is Teddy's decision that Sgt. Slaughter will be given a non-title match, which Sarge will need to win in order to get a title shot. That match will take place this Sunday night November 1st at the Los Angeles Sports Arena! There are very few tickets remining so get them now fans! Magnum welcomed the challenge and promised to beat Sarge again in L.A.

Card 14 Sunday, November 1st 1987 Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena Hello fans and welcome to the AWF's first ever live event in California! We can't tell you how excited we are to be here, and coming off the heels of one of our biggest cards ever at Fright Night, we've got a lot of great action to bring you! The AWF is setting the standard in professional wrestling today and will be appearing in this area on a regular basis! We think you'll like what we have in store! Tonight we've got an outstanding slate for you as we see the return match between new AWF World Heavyweight Champion Magnum T.A. and Sgt. Slaughter in a non title match! We WILL see a title match tonight though fans as AWF World Tag Team Champions The Road Warriors finally defend their titles against The Midnight Express! Also, Roddy Piper will also take on "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan! Plus 3 other big matches! Let's get to the ring! In the opener, Tom "Rocky" Stone took on George South. This was a back and forth match between two talented but not overwhelming wrestlers. George South had the advantage for most of this match, but Tom Stone came back and eventually got the pin. For the second match, Marty Jannetty and Manny Ferndandez took on Danny Doring and Amish Roadkill. Jannetty and Fernandez were out of synch from the get go, missing several double team attempts. They never got on the same page and in what has to be considered a fairly significant upset, Roadkill pinned Fernandez after Jannetty botched a pin save! Strange match. This match will appear on a future episode of AWF Power Pro WrestlingOne of our big advertised matches was up next as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper with "Ace" Bob Orton renewed hostilities with "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in one of the AWF's hottest rivalries! Hacksaw played to the crowd early with Rowdy responding in kind, drawing a good bit of heat. Piper was a step ahead of Hacksaw in the early to mid goings, but Hacksaw rallied and took control things came to a boil as Hacksaw tossed Piper out of the ring and again played to the crowd. Piper and Orton took the opportunity to attempt to distract the referee for some shenanigans. Hacksaw initially fell into the trap, but turned around just in time and cut Orton off at the pass. Hacksaw then grabbed his 2x4 and started waving it around! Piper grabbed a chair and the two started dueling near the entranceway! They both ended up landing blows on the other, drawing a double disqualification! Hacksaw then posed with the 2x4 for the crowd. Next up in a long delayed matchup, AWF World Tag Team Champions The Road Warriors defended their titles against The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette. This was of course a classic clash of styles as the Midnight used agility and teamwork to stick and move, cutting off the ring when they had the advantage, with Jim Cornette a constant irritant. The Road Warriors looked to be in trouble when suddenly Rob Van Dam and Sabu with Bill Alfonzo appeared! They circled the ring and distracted the referee, leading to the Road Warriors rallying. it appeared the titles would be safe when Cornette blasted Alfonzo with the racquet, then hoped up on the apron to break up a pinfall. The referee walked him back towards the entrance way as if to send him to the back when he tossed Bobby Eaton a foreign object which he used to blast Hawk! Dennis Condrey kept Animal tied up as the 1-2-3 was counted! We've got new World Tag Team Champions! The Midnight and Cornette grabbed the belts and made their way to the back to a ton of heat and a perplexed Animal and Hawk! This match will appear on a future episode of AWF Championship Wrestling on ESPNNext Jerry Lynn took on Mike Jackson. Lynn has been on a bit of a hot streak recently, though not against overly impressive competition. He wrestled circles around Mike Jackson, showing off his athleticism, to get an easy victory. This was a good breather for a crowd that was s till in shock over the title switch.
Finally in our main event, AWF World Heavyweight Champion Magnum T.A. took on Sgt. Slaughter with Dark Patriot in a non-title match Sarge must win to get a rematch with the new champion. This was another very good match, similar to their match at Fright Night, with Sarge slowing down the proceedings and trying to frustrate Magnum. Dark Patriot, who was absent in the previous match, definitely made a difference, hoping up on the apron several times and also interjecting himself when the new champion came down to the floor. It looked like that might be enough to swing the result back in Sarge's favor when Magum T.A. rallied and again hit the BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX! Dark Patriot tried to interfere but Magum punched him off the apron and made the cover for the win! He posed for the crowd after, sending Los Angeles home happy in the promotion's maiden voyage on the west coast. This match will appear on a future episode of AWF Championship Wrestling on ESPN

Next Lance Russell made the announcement of the new AWF World Tag Team champions, The Midnight Express! He then brought out the former champions The Road Warriors, who fumed over the loss especially considering all the outside interference. Lets get to the ring fans! Curt Henning and Koko B Ware put on a good opening bout, Henning eventually won with the HENNING-PLEX. Afterward he was interviewed by Gordon Solie, who asked him how we was coping with losing the AWF World Television Title. Henning said it was a short term setback. He then said you know I don't agree with the Road Warriors on much, but they're right that you need someone to watch your back in the AWF. Curt is open for business and looking for the PERFECT manager. This match and segment will air on a future episode of AWF Power Pro Wrestling Masked Superstar got a rematch against Nord the Barbarian with Jimmy Hart. This match had a lot of heat with the crowd. Masked Superstar was again easily distracted by his former manager, bailing out to chase him around at every opportunity. This eventually caught up with him and Nord caught him with a punch to the gut followed by a piledriver to get another win over Masked Superstar! Nord the Barbarian remains undefeated in AWF action. The dirt sheets are speculating Masked Superstar could be finishing up soon. This match will air on a future episode of AWF Power Pro WrestlingNext Jerry Lynn took on Disco Inferno. Disco is still bringing a ringside bell to the ring with him. During Gary Michael Capetta's introductions, Disco snuck a punch which got him off to a good start, He missed an opportunity to hit a quick LAST DANCE though and the match continued. Jerry Lynn, who has been on quite the winning streak lately, showcased his abilities early and often, eventually getting the win after a Deathjump. As he was celebrating, Disco grabbed his ringside bell in a rage and nailed Jerry Lynn from behind! Stevie Richards then hit the ring before the damage could continue, with Nord the Barbarian making another appearance, leading to a huge scrum in the ring that had to be pulled apart by agents! What's Nord doing out here? This match will air on a future episode of AWF Championship Wrestling on ESPN
We got a singles match between Rob Van Dam and Dennis Condrey next. Neither man had their manager with them. RVD was clearly more comfortable in the singles environment, and get the win in convincing fashion via the FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH Next up, Marty Jannetty and Manny Fernandez got a rematch against Danny Doring and Roadkill. Shockingly, Marty and Manny AGAIN struggled, with Marty missing a deathjump leading to Roadkill picking up a pinfal victory! In the Main Event, AWF World Heavyweight Champion Magnum T.A. and Barry Windham took on Sgt Slaughter and a Mystery Partner with Dark Patriot. The crowd was abuzz over who the mystery partner could be, who turned out to be Abdullah the Butcher! Sarge and Magnum started the match together, getting a big pop from the crowd as they went to toe to toe during Gary Michela Capetta's introductions! This was a good match that went back and forth. Jim Ross got his first taste of AWF action as Abdullah set Magum TA up to be put through a table but as the Suddanese monster jumped from the apron, Magum moved, sending the 400 plus pounder through the table and onto the floor! Windham kept both Sarge and Dark Patriot busy as Magnum rolled Abdulah back in the ring and pinned him for the 1-2-3! Barry and Magnum celebrate in the ring as the villains head back to the locker room to end the show. We'll be in Reno tomorrow night fans! See you there!

Card 16 Saturday, November 7th, 1987 Lawlor Evets Center - Reno, NV We're back with more AWF action fans! This time from the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada, the biggest little city in the world! Gordon Solie hyped our main event, with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper facing "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in a steel cage! Let's get to the ring! In the opening match, Dark Patriot bloodied Hillbilly Jim, but was unable to get the pinfall after multiple attempts. Eventually, Hillbilly Jim rallied and got the win after a big running lariat! Ox Baker then took on Dancin' Stevie Richards. The dancing machine looked good early, sticking and moving and moonwalking his way around the ring. His luck ran out though once finally caught. Ox Baker then bullied him from pillar to post, getting a pinfall win after a HEART PUNCH. Greg Valentine and Adrian Adonis with Jimmy Hart then took on Varsity Club. Rotunda and Dr. Death showed off their amateur backgrounds, dazzling the crows with their abilities. Rotunda then missed a deathjump and Adonis took advantage, he slapped on GOODNIGHT IRENE for an extended period, though Rotuna eventually reached the ropes and made the hot tag shortly after. Dr. Death rocked Adonis who then made a tag himself as the action spilled out to the ring. Greg Valentine grabbed a chair and, outside of sight from the referee, jabbed Dr. Death with the blunt end of it. He then rolled the Oklahoman into the ring and slapped on the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Dr. Death didn't submit but passed out and was pinned. Tough loss for Varsity Club. This match will appear on a future episode of AWF Power Pro WrestlingNext Sabu took on Bobby Eaton without either manager present. This was the other half of the RVD/Dennis Condrey matchup we saw last night. Sabu was clearly more comfortable in a singles environment, and looked well on his way to victory, but he missed a moonsault onto the floor, allowing Eaton to slide him back in for an ALABAMA JAM and a flash pinfall victory! That dies the singles series up at 1-1! In the semi-main event AWF World Television Champion Dynamite Kid defended his title against Sam Houston. Dynamite again was a little lackluster, allowing Houston to get a near fall on him early and struggling to take control. Eventually he wore the Texan down though and hit the DIVING HEAD BUTT to retain his title. Dynamite needs to pick it up though if he wants to hold onto his title against tougher competition. This match will appear on a future episode of AWF Power Pro Wrestling
In the main event, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper took on "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan inside a steel cage! Hacksaw cleaned house early, driving the fans crazy and looking for an early victory (in the AWF, all steel cage matches end via pinfall, not escaping the cage). The excitement was cut short, however, when Piper, struggling on on the defensive, pulled out one of those classic white foreign objects you put around your hand and nailed Hacksaw! He then covered him for the 1-2-3! What a miscarriage of justice! Piper mocked the crowd as he laughed over his underhanded tactics getting him a win. This match will appear on a future episode of AWF Championship Wrestling on ESPN
