Just took my seat at Rogers Arena for tonight's Canuck game against New Jersey.
I've got a feeling that tonight is the night Elias Pettersson snaps out of his early season slump; I'm going to predict 2 goals and 1 assist for him. Time for him to start earning that $11.6 Million Dollar per year contract!
GO CANUCKS GO!!!

However, being born in Detroit I would not bet against the Devils on Devil's Night lol. Sadly, you were correct. With 10 minutes left and the score 5-0 Devils I got up and left the game early which is something I NEVER do. A complete and unmitigated disaster for the Canucks tonight. They were completely out of sync all game and that was no more evident than the Devils second goal which came on a Vancouver Power Play: JT Miller went to pass the puck to Quinn Hughes who was CLEARLY not expecting the pass as he was in the middle of checking a New Jersey player. This allowed the Devils to steal the puck and score an easy two-on-one shorthanded goal. Arturs Silovs was great in net in the playoffs for us last year but he's really struggled in his three starts thus season including tonight. Once Thatcher Demko gets back from injury I suspect Silovs will get sent back down to the minors as Kevin Lankinen has out-performed him between the pipes so far. Checking the final score New Jersey added a sixth goal to complete the beatdown. While the shots on net between the two teams were fairly even very few of Vancouver's shots were high-danger. Oh well. Hopefully the next game will be better.

Enjoy the game and I hope they win. However, being born in Detroit I would not bet against the Devils on Devil's Night lol. Losing sucks. But sometimes it's best to be out of it early. It's better than being in control and losing at the end. It's a long season and they have time to get back on track. Sadly, you were correct. With 10 minutes left and the score 5-0 Devils I got up and left the game early which is something I NEVER do. A complete and unmitigated disaster for the Canucks tonight. Whatever has been plaguing Elias Pettersson so far this season he'd better figure it out soon. With his new annual $11.6 Million Dollar contract the expectation of him is likely to gain 100 points. So far through 9 games this season he's sitting at 1 goal and 3 assists. Assuming he plays all 82 games that puts him on pace for 36 points: YIKES.
Fans in this city are already starting to turn on him which is never a good thing. It's probably too early to push the panic button but if his play doesn't improve his contract could end up being a giant anchor for the team.
