I fear that this is the death of the Pac-12. My guess would be that the Mountain West will likely absorb the remaining schools that don't land with the other Power Conferences. It is the death of the Pac-12. Here in Las Vegas, I am seeing lots of speculation that if the Pac-12 does officially shut down then Washington State and Oregon State would likely join the Mountain West which would put both of the schools (Washington State and UNLV) that I have degrees from (and thus both of my schools in college sports) in the same conference. I saw something online last night that they might join the Big 12

I saw something online last night that they might join the Big 12 I have not seen that. I did however see a video posted last night where two media members of SWX which covers Washington State says none of the major conferences wanted Washington State or Oregon State. The SWX also said the Big 12 at first wanted Cal and Stanford but mostly due to their academic programs and then decided not to further split the conference revenue to add those two schools who have had recent dismal seasons. Things are really looking bleak for Washington State. Last year the school got $28 million in media dollars for its college football program. If WSU has to go to the Mountain West, they will lose over 80% of that money as last year Mountain West schools only each made between $4 million and $5 million in media dollars for their football programs. I really might go the entire year without watching a college football game, I'm disgusted with the sport at the moment.

ESPN's Pete Thamel tonight is reporting that the ACC is in talks about adding California and Stanford but it is uncertain whether those two schools will actually be invited to join the ACC.

It looks like the Pac-12 is down to four teams. They should rebrand themselves as Pac-4 Horsemen. Get Ric Flair to be assistant conference director. Woooooooooooo

Woooooooooooo When I was in Waterloo 3 weeks ago, I found out that there is actually a Waterloo Arena Football team called the Waterloo Woo and the mascot is a wolf dressed up like Ric Flair. Here is their logo:

Stanford and California are apparently so desperate to join the ACC they are reportedly willing to accept starting at 25% shares and incur the tens of millions in extra travel expenses to travel across the country on a regular basis for their teams to take on ACC opponents.

We should know this week whether Stanford and California are indeed joining the ACC, I expect it to happen after Stanford and California basically offered to sell themselves out by only accepting 1/4 shares.
if Standford and California also depart, that just leaves my school Washington State and Oregon State as the last two schools standing in the PAC-12. Their options are to either fold the PAC-12 and join another conference (something like the Mountain West as none of the major conferences want them) or try to rebuild the PAC-12.
I hope they can rebuild the PAC-12 and it is in their interest to do so, as according to the PAC-12's conference bylaws, Chapter 1, Section 4 addresses “Dissolution” and it gives Washington State and Oregon State full control of the conference's assets if all the other teams depart.
If Washington State and Oregon State decide to keep and rebuild the PAC-12, the schools they reportedly want to add include:
San Diego State (has already been offered PAC-12 membership before all the other schools left)
Fresno State (another California school and one that represents the Northern California market)
Boise State
SMU (to give the PAC-12 a Texas presence)
UNLV (my other school, we often struggle as a football team but have a world class venue in Allegiant Stadium- where the Raiders also play- and Las Vegas is a city that few college towns can match in regards to appeal.)
