I had kind of a fun idea recently... at least to me. Hoping someone else gets some enjoyment out of it and I'm not completely wasting my time. lol. With Farmer Burns card coming out and him having put together some awesome wrestling training guides way back, I thought it would be fun to illustrate the moves on his card via the photos from his book/s. I didn't want to give away the card stats so I have listed the moves in alphabetical order instead of how they appear on the card. I've also included multiple photos for a couple of the moves in cases where the move can be done in multiple ways. For example, the waist hold takedown could be a waisthold from the front or back. The toe hold can also be done in a multitude of ways. I also had to make a guess at which move was named the Iowa backdrop. So here goes: 1. body lock/cross triplock 2. double bar arm hold 3. flying mare 4. front chancery 5. full nelson 6. grapevine and double armlock 7. grinding toehold 8. half nelson and slam 9. hammerlock 10. Iowa backdrop 11. scissors body hold 12. single leg takedown 13. standing arm and wrist hold 14. three-quarter nelson 15. waistlock takedown
Something else to keep in mind with a lot of these moves, the goal of wrestling at that time, was to pin your opponent. So most moves, while punishing looking, were designed to leverage your opponent closer to the mat.
