AEW announced today that its Full Gear PPV will take place this November in Los Angeles and I plan to attend this show with some friends. I am glad this show is at the Kia Forum (formerly known as the Great Western Forum which is where the Los Angeles Lakers played their home games before Staples Center opened) as I have not been to the venue other than walking through the parking lot last April while on my way to SoFi Stadium across the street for Wrestlemania 39.

I got my ticket to Full Gear today as my friend bought the tickets after the Presale started.

Although the night before Full Gear there is a live Collision and I think ROH tapings also taking place at the same venue, the Forum, as Full Gear, I am only going to Full Gear partly because it would be difficult (probably impossible unless I take the day off from work) for me to get to Los Angeles by 5 PM on a Friday and partly because I have to pick and choose what shows I attend with my still unresolved contract situation at work. But I am definitely going to Full Gear that Saturday and I am glad I finally get to see the Forum too.

I am home now from attending Full Gear 2023 tonight in Los Angeles.
I flew out to Ontario, California this morning with my friend Bryan. It was like a $20 flight on Frontier. I don't care for Frontier with how they cram you into your small seating space and the way they try to jack up the fees. However, I had no bag and I really don't need to pick my seat for a 38 minute flight so my fee remained at $20 and for ony $20 I can deal with it for 38 minutes (it is not like I was flying to Europe on Frontier.)
Our friend Richard picked us up at the airport in Ontario and drove us to the Kia Forum where we met some other friends who we sat with for the show. This was my first time at the Kia Forum. Overall I was not too impresed with the venue, the place was badly lit, not much in the way of food options for a 5 hour show, to get to the bathroom you have to go down about 50 steps and then walk up about 50 steps afterward to get back to the main hallway, etc. Having been there today, it is just really hard for me to believe the Lakers played at the Kia Forum (then known as the Great Western Forum) during their Showtime era. The Clippers are building a new venue on the other side of Sofi Stadium from where the Kia Forum is located and I hope AEW considers booking their Los Angeles PPVs there in the future (Tony Khan after the show tonight did tell the crowd that Full Gear 2023 tonight was the first of many future AEW PPVs in Los Angeles.)
I thought tonight's show was mostly good with a major exception being the storyline surrounding the main event. My favorite match of the night was definitely the Texas Death match between Adam Page and Shane Strickland. To varying degrees, I thought all of the matches on tonight's show were good.
But I have to say I thought tonight's MJF injury storyline was really stupid. AEW was really going to allow Adam Cole on crutches with a broken ankle to defend the title tonight in singles action on behalf of MJF in the main event after not allowing Cole to help MJF in a tag match against the Gunns in a Preshow match? And then all those officials try to stop MJF- who is clearly in better shape than Adam Cole- from getting to the ring to compete in the main event after nobody stopped Adam Cole from hobbling out to the ring on his crutches as a substitute for MJF? It also made Jay White look weak IMO. I like AEW (otherwise I would not have flown to California for an AEW PPV) but booking decisions like tonight's injury themed main event and the idea to have Samoa Joe recently on Dynamite just surrender the ROH World TV Championship and thus end his record reign while not even securing an AEW Championship match in the process are terrible booking decisions.
I know some of the crowd was hoping to find out who the masked Devil is but my guess is we will find out next month at the Long Island show.
After the show, I rode home with 4 friends back to Las Vegas and we stpped in Barstow for food (I ate Del Taco.)
I think my next show will be GCW on December 9th. FSW tomorrow has a casino show, Luck of the Draw, but I am low on funds until I get paid this week and I think I am going to just watch tomorrow's FSW show on FITE+.

Was Will Osprey announced "All Elite" at this PPV? yeah, as expected, Ospreay was AEW's newest signing tonight but he said he is going to finish his time in NJPW (who allowed him to negotiate with AEW early) first as his NJPW contract does not expire until February

I saw it on their Facebook page, so figured it had to be their blockbuster announcement! Thanks!

The Swerve vs Hangman match was superb, but one thing I started to think about watching it today was that they had Nigel McGuinness on commentary and they did the blood drinking spot. Nigel was extremely vocal about blood in wrestling after the impact Hep B had on him, so it just felt a little unfair to put him in a position to have to commentate on that. I thought he was notably more quiet during that match than he had been up to that point, and it felt like he wasn't overly impressed.
However, that aside, both men really went all out, fair play to them!
I don't think I disliked the MJF/Cole/BCG story as much as Zeke, but it was definitely absurd the number of people they had trying to stop MJF, when Cole was going to just be left to go it alone
