Nitro Wrestling 1.1
Jim Cornette and Jim Ross welcome the fans to the show and announce that the main event of the premier episode of Nitro Wrestling will be Jim Londos vs. Randy Savage with the winner earning a spot in the big gauntlet match for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title in four weeks. Cornette introduces the first match.
1. Angelo Mosca vs. Tom Stone
Mosca bulldozes Stone and throws him out to the concrete. Mosca drills Stone with an elbow smash to the face, busting him open. Stone is counted out.
Winner - Angelo Mosca by count out
After the match, Mosca rolls out of the ring and attacks Stone until a fan smashes Mosca with a chair. As security escort the fan out, Mosca says if he wants to be a wrestler, Mosca will fight him next week. The fan says his name is Gary Jay and he’ll see Mosca next week. Jim Ross and Jim Cornette caution any fans at home that might be harboring similar ideas. Cornette introduces the next match.
2. Al Snow vs. Joe Malenko
Snow takes control early on and hits the Snow Plow for the win.
Winner - Al Snow by pinfall
Cornette says if Snow stays serious and focused, he could be World Heavyweight Champion one day. Ross introduces the next match.
3. Tommy Rich vs. Fit Finlay
Rich and Finlay battle back and forth. Rich rolls up Finlay with a school boy after a turnbuckle charge for a two count. Rich wears Finlay down with the Wildfire Sleeper but can’t get the submission. Rich hits a fist drop for the win.
Winner - Tommy Rich by pinfall
Rich gets on the mic and says he feels passed over but says he’ll beat whomever wins the gauntlet match and become the World Heavyweight Champion.
Before the main event, a montage is shown of the other six men in qualifying matches - Nikita Koloff, Paul Orndorff, Sgt. Slaughter, Mr. Saito, Wilbur Snyder, and Great Gama!
4. Randy Savage vs. Jim Londos - Gauntlet Match Qualifier
Savage attacks Londos like a caged animal and batters him all over the ring area. Savage nails Londos with a double axe handle off the top for a two count. Savage hits a piledriver for a near fall. Londos makes a comeback but Savage shuts him down. Savage mauls Londos on the outside. Savage plants Londos in the center of the ring and hits the flying elbow smash but Londos kicks out! Savage hits a second flying elbow smash for the win.
Winner - Randy Savage by pinfall
Jim Ross and Jim Cornette thank the fans for tuning in and tell them to tune in next week when Paul Orndorff takes on Nikita Koloff for a spot in the championship gauntlet match and Angelo Mosca vs. Gary Jay.
