I don't know I'd call it a hot potato but it moved quicker than I expected but Brisco's Cradle has won so many matches for him in my fed I'm not surprised. Brisco wins way more matches with the cradle than he does the figure four for me. |

Nitro Wrestling 1.34
Jim Ross and Jim Cornette welcome the fans to the show and plug the main event, The Crusher vs. Big John Studd inside of a 15 foot high steel cage. Ross announces that next week’s episode will be two hours long, featuring Tommy Rich vs. Paul Orndorff in a falls count anywhere match and Jack Brisco defending his newly won Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title against Rob Van Dam. Cornette adds that the 16 Man Ryder Cup will kick off in two weeks so wins are more important than ever. Ross introduces the first match.
1. Dutch Mantell vs. Tom Stone
Dirty Dutch bulldozes Tom Stone and hits the Double Dutch Clutch for the win.
Winner - Dutch Mantell by pinfall
Cornette says the Dirty Dutchman is a threat to everyone in Nitro Wrestling. Ross introduces the next match.
2. Bad News Allen vs. Lord Zoltan
Bad News nails Zoltan with a throat strike at the bell. Bad New hits the Ghetto Blaster for a two count. Bad News hits a second Ghetto Blaster for the win.
Winner - Bad News Allen by pinfall
After the match, Bad News says he’ll win the Ryder Cup or leave the territory. Ross says those are strong words. Cornette introduces the next match.
3. Pat Patterson vs. The Trooper
The Trooper dominates Pat Patterson and hits a running back elbow for a two count. The Trooper hits a press slam for a two count and Patterson begs off. Patterson sneak attacks The Trooper while the referee’s back is turned. Patterson hits an atomic drop for a two count. Patterson hits the Bombs Away for the win.

Cornette says Patterson could surprise everyone and win the Ryder Cup. Ross introduces the main event.
4. The Crusher vs. Big John Studd - steel cage
Studd slammed the cage door on The Crusher as he entered the ring and hit a big elbow drop but The Crusher kicked out. Studd slammed The Crusher back first into the cage and hoisted him up for a backbreaker. The Crusher refuses to submit and fights his way out of the hold. Studd hits a body slam for a two count. Studd hoists The Crusher up in a backbreaker and The Crusher submits.

1. Tommy Gilbert vs. Nord the Barbarian
Gilbert outwrestles Nord at the bell but Nord overpowers him. Nord hits a big leg drop but Gilbert gets his foot on the ropes. Nord beats up Gilbert outside the ring and locks on the full nelson but can’t get Gilbert to submit. Gilbert makes a comeback and hits a standing dropkick for a two count. Nord and Gilbert battle back and forth. Gilbert hits the running knee lift for a two count. Nord turns things back around and hits a jumping leg drop for the win.
Winner - Nord the Barbarian by pinfall
Ross puts over Nord. Cornette introduces the next match.
2. Wilbur Snyder vs. Eric the Red
Eric sneak attacks Snyder at the bell and goes to work but Snyder makes a comeback. Snyder takes down Eric and locks on the half Boston crab but Eric is able to reach the ropes. Eric makes a comeback and locks on the backbreaker but Snyder escapes the hold. Eric wears down Snyder with another backbreaker and nails him with the bone while the referee’s back is turned. Snyder makes a comeback and hits a flying tackle for a two count. Snyder locks on the Abdominal Stretch and Eric taps out.
Winner - Wilbur Snyder by submission
Ross says Snyder could easily win the Ryder Cup tournament. Cornette introduces the next match.
3. Tommy Rich vs. Paul Orndorff - falls count anywhere
Orndorff dominates Rich at the bell. Orndorff teases throwing Rich out of the ring to mess with the fans and continues his assault. Orndorff hits a piledriver for a two count. Orndorff hits another piledriver but Rich kicks out. Orndorff hits a third piledriver but Rich gets his foot on the ropes. Orndorff tortures Rich and once again teases throwing him out of the ring. Rich makes a comeback but Orndorff shuts him down with a brutal knee lift. Orndorff hits a fourth piledriver for the win.
Winner - Paul Orndorff by pinfall
The crowd pelts Orndorff with trash as he heads to the back. Tommy Rich has to be stretchered out. While Rich is being attended to, Ross announces that Jim Londos, Billy Wicks, Gary Jay, and Nikita Koloff have been invited to compete in the Ryder Cup tournament. Once order is restored, Cornette introduces the next match.
4. Stanislaus Zbyszko vs. Great Malenko
Zbyszko plants Malenko with a flying mare for a two count in the opening minutes. Zbyszko and Malenko battle all over the ring area. Zbsyzko makes a comeback and locks on the hammerlock but Malenko escapes the hold. Zbsyzko hits a half nelson and slam for a two count. Zbsyzko clamps on the hammerlock but Malenko is able to reach the ropes. Malenko catches Zbsyzko with a small package for a two count. Malenko locks on the Russian Sickle but Zbsyzko makes it to the ropes. Malenko attacks Zbsyzko with the Russian Chain and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner - Stanislaus Zbyszko by DQ
After the match, Zbyszko and Malenko continue fighting until security is able to restore order. Ross introduces the next match.
5. Gorilla Monsoon vs. Farmer Burns
Burns frustrates Monsoon with his grappling ability, scoring near falls with two flying mares. Burns wears down Monsoon with a grinding toehold and hits the Iowa Backdrop for the win.

Ross and Cornette put over Farmer Burns. Ross announces that a rematch has been signed for next week, Stanislaus Zbsyzko vs. The Great Malenko in the first round of the Ryder Cup. Cornette introduces the main event.
6. Jack Brisco vs. Rob Van Dam - Nitro Wrestling world Heavyweight title match
Brisco and Van Dam battle back and forth, evenly matched as far as athleticism goes. Brisco hits a double leg takedown and locks on the figure four but Van Dam escapes the hold. Van Dam and Brisco battle back and forth. Brisco hits a gutwrench backbreaker for a two count. Brisco locks on the figure four and Van Dam taps out.
Winner - Jack Brisco by submission,his first title defense
Brisco and Van Dam shake hands after the match. Van Dam leaves through the crowd. Ross and Cornette sign off, telling the fans to tune in next week for four first round Ryder Cup matches.

Jim Ross and Jim Cornette welcome the fans to the show and the four week Ryder Cup tournament. Jim Ross announces that Tommy Rich and Rob Van Dam have left the territory. Cornette hypes the main event, Stanislaus Zbyszko vs. Great Malenko and introduces the first match.
1. Billy Wicks vs. Dutch Mantell - Ryder Cup 1st Round
Wicks and Mantell battle back and forth. Dutch gets some momentum going and hits a backbreaker for a two count. Mantell beats up Wicks on the outside but Wicks beats the count back into the ring. Wicks makes a comeback but Mantell shuts him down and hits a jumping knee drop for a two count. Mantell and Wicks battle back and forth. Mantell hits another backbreaker for a two count. Mantell throws Wicks out of the ring and body slams him on the concrete. Wicks beats the count back into the ring. Mantell hits a jumping knee drop for the win.

Zoltan locks on the triangle death grip but Burns escapes the hold. Zoltan goes to the top but Burns throws him to the mat and covers him for the three count.

Malenko attacks Zbsyzko before the bell. Malenko chokes Zbyszko on the ropes, wearing him down. Zbsyzko makes a comeback but Malenko shuts him down and locks on the Russian Sickle. Gary takes the fight to Finlay and quickly hits a death valley driver for a two count. Gary nails Finlay with the roaring elbow for a two count. Finlay and Gary battle back and forth. Finlay hits a hard scoop slam for a two count. Finlay hits a Tombstone piledriver but Gary kicks out. Finlay hits a second Tombstone for the win.

Ross says it’s good to see Finlay advance. Cornette introduces the next match.
